I have been a part of many group fitness studios the past 10 years+ and hands down Orange Theory coaches have been the most knowledgeable and dedicated to supporting me reach my fitness goals. Namely, Amanda is amazing—she has incredible expertise & experience in exercise science and her thoughtful mental and emotional support throughout our workouts is so freaking motivating. If you’re new to OT, you must get in on a class with Amanda!

I’ve been a member of the Highlands or WR locations of OTF for many years. I credit these workouts for getting me through COVID with most of my sanity in tact, and saw a significant decrease in my overall health when I tried to move to Peloton during the pandemic. I’m a little shy and introverted, but I really enjoy the group workout environment, and with full-time school, part time work, and parenthood, it’s nice to get a good workout in an hour. There are some things I love - the instructors are overall great, facility is clean, and the equipment is always being upgraded. Music is generally upbeat, current, and fun. The workouts can be as easy or hard as you want them to be.Some policies (and the associated communication) can feel a little discouraging. I’ve been bumped for classes due to being late, based on their internal clocks rather than my cell’s global clock. I’ve even heard instructors talk about how their clocks run ahead and they have to roll them back every so often. When I pointed this out, it wasn’t really acknowledged or validated. I’ve also shown up for classes that were incorrectly booked in their system and they didn’t have space for me when I arrived. When I requested credits for these instances, I’ve received reminders about policy rather than an interest to make it right, or my requests haven’t been followed through on. It’s a lot for me to work exercise into my schedule and I’m careful to always book same day so I know I can make it to class. This aspect of OTF policy can be annoying, especially when you have a tight schedule.Lifetime is opening up just down the street in a year or so, and there are a lot of gym options in the area to consider, but OTF has been a mostly easy go to for getting my fitness needs met in Applewood.

I really enjoy the Orange Theory workouts. I feel that I get a great workout and I don’t have to worry about exercising all the muscle groups. The workouts are different every day with occasional special workouts thrown in just for fun. All the coaches, especially Amanda, Erik, and Darcy, are super supportive and encouraging. I especially appreciate that they can tailor the exercises to allow for individual limitations.
