My friend and I just joined the crunch fitness in Athens Georgia because we both are interested in working on our health. We walked in and told the guy at the desk we was brand new thinking some one would give us a tour or at least explain how things worked a little. Instead we got crazy sideways looks from every worker there and when she tried to use the tanning bed we were told that we had to schedule an appointment. Two of the employees were whispering and in general just very rude. We wanted a place we could go COMFORTABLY and work out or tan with out being judged but instead all we got was some of the worse costumer service skills that just added to our already low self esteem. Definatly would not recommend Crunch fitness in Athens Georgia to any body who isn't comfortable with their body.

I’ve had a membership at this gym for 5 years, I’ve always loved it until now :( the staff is incredibly nice and helpful, it’s clean, the women’s locker room is cleaned very consistently every time I go someone is cleaning it (you can still go in they just warn you that someone is in there cleaning!), I love that I also get tanning with my membership, the tanning beds are nice and always clean as well. I have nothing to complain about other than lately I’ve been dreading going, I’ve pretty much stopped going altogether cause I always talk myself out of it. Im guessing tons of people got memberships at the beginning of the year? I’ve gone at 5am, 10pm, midnight, 10am, 1pm, 2pm, it really doesn’t matter. This year every single time I go on any day it is incredibly packed. I’ve never experienced this here until now and it suckssss. I do have anxiety and that’s totally not anyones problem but mine, you pretty much don’t get any personal space and I could work through that but it’s frustrating to wait on machines if I’m there to work on something specific. I’ve also had to wait on tanning beds more often than I ever have. I really don’t wanna cancel my membership cause it’s the closest gym to my house and I’ve been going here for forever but idk.If you’re looking for a gym in the area and being around tons of people makes you anxious, or if you have a busy schedule like me and aren’t flexible to wait on machines I wouldn’t go here.

I went to Crunch because it was the only gym in town with a sauna. Usually it was a little too crowded, but what really disappointed me was my experience cancelling my membership when I moved to Atlanta.I called to cancel my membership several times and was told to wait for a manager to be there. Eventually, they told me to email a certain email address and say that I was cancelling my membership. I did that, yet they continued charging me. I eventually changed bank account information, at which point they sent my membership bill to collections. When I explained that I had indeed cancelled my membership according to the instructions I was given over the phone, the Crunch service rep said that I "should have read the fine print" and came in person to cancel my membership, even though I now live two hours away. I feel like they took quite a bit of my money-- I would recommend the local gym next door and if you're in Atlanta LA fitness. Very easy to cancel there.

This gym is far too small for the number of members. I moved here from a larger city where high quality gyms are on practically every corner. In Athens this is probably one of the best gyms for the price. With this in mind, expect to wait for machines, deal with people disregarding your space, and dazed 🥴 people hogging workout stations. The place is dirty, too, which I have found to be true for most gyms in this area. The windows and doors are especially grimy and the floors are dusty and dirty. There are no paper towels in the bathrooms which is slightly disgusting at a gym, where that Dyson hand dryer just blows the germ-laden air around on your hands. If you workout in a public place I suppose the silent submission to the bacteria is what you sign up for…😵‍💫By comparison the Central Florida gyms had professional sterilization methods employed over night by 3rd party cleaning companies and this was before covid. The gyms had to be clean because there’s so much competition! This place caters to college students obviously. With the cost of UGA tuition the university should offer a free gym to all students on campus. That would probably reduce clients here by about 85%.That said, the group fitness classes are the best in town. I leave and come back to this gym it seems every other year because of the fitness instructors. They need to expand or add a second location and maybe I would increase my rating.

Crunch… I love you. But for the love of god… DUST. It’s disgusting. Did you know dust is mostly dead skin? The fans especially. I gag every time I look up at the ceiling. My membership could pay for a swiffer😂 but other than that, we love crunch …

One of the few options in town with a full variety of deadlift, squat, and bench setups and isolation-work machines. For some reason these people thought it was fine to put up multiple different signs around the gym of large photos of previous members faces, saying “This person didn’t put back the barbell. Now they don’t have a membership.” I find that very weirdly personal, creepy, and tasteless, especially considering that both the posters listed offenses that would be great five second tasks for the employees that do nothing but stand there and greet you. Terminating memberships over that is dumb enough, but broadcasting that you did it with posters of members’ faces is some deranged management.

Great gym! They have everything! Besides great equipment in all areas for workouts they also have daycare so you can still workout with kids! They have classes in all areas, tanning beds & spray tan. Hdryo message chair & great staff.

Great gym! The front desk people seemed distracted which was difficult for me as it was my first time there. I wasn't sure how to check in or how anything worked. The facility, itself, is spectacular and I can't wait to go back!!! It's an extremely upbeat atmosphere.Edited: I originally gave Crunch four stars because of what I mentioned above. I have changed my rating to five stars because Crunch is SUPER attentive and customer oriented!!! After reading my random review, they called me and invited me in for a redo. It was so helpful and informative. I am now a member at the highest level and I enjoy every moment I get to spend at the gym! I didn't love to work out much previously, but now, I never want to miss a day. I LOVE THIS GYM!!!!

they’ll do anything to prevent you from canceling your membership. gotta be in person… go in person, gotta be a manager on duty. My son drove :30 to cancel his membership (that i don’t know how he was even able to sign up for since he was under age). Crunch just wants to keep billing is all. Why do gyms have to be so shady? if someone wants to cancel, don’t make it take an act of congress to do so. Reflects very poorly on the company. we thought we had canceled a few months ago and got a collection call yesterday. first time we’ve ever got a call from Crunch. they wanted to lock in a few extra months of membership we didn’t use first. it’s not about the $… it’s about the pettiness of it all. I’ll pay the “overdue” bill, but i’ll never send any more money your way.

I love this gym. Better than any lifetime, LA, or any other fitness I've been to. Staff is respectful, the equipment is always clean and in good condition or documented if otherwise. It's also huge with plenty of facility for anybody who wants to work out at the same time. Also the prices are extremely competitive.
