Crunch Fitness - Athens

It's a great gym with a friendly crew and all of the equipment I could ever need. My only problem with it, which is why I gave it a 4 star, is there not being enough of benches and squat racks. The number of benches is not too bad, however there being only 4 squat racks, and I believe two smith squat machines is a little frustrating. Hoping for more in the future.

Would definitely recommend crunch to literally anyone and everyone. The gym is equipped with whatever you might need for any fitness level, as well as trainers and employees that make for a comfortable environment. Personally, I was nervous to start when I first got my membership, but I have been working with one of their trainers -Brent- for a few months and my improvement is very exciting and motivating!

I've been at crunch for a few weeks now and I love it! I came from a previous gym to crunch per recommendation per my best friend and I'm so glad I listened to her. Yeah, I have had to wait for the hydro massage and platinum tanning bed, but that's to be expected. I love the 30-minute circuit machines they have and the platinum tanning beds. The staff is super nice and helpful. I really like how they have the motivational quotes on the wall and how I don't feel like I'm being judged at the gym. I'm paying the same price at crunch for so much more than my other gym and it is so worth it!Edited to add a year later:So I made the mistake of changing back to my other gym. That didn't last long. As soon as quarantine was over, I was back at crunch. SO SO glad to be back at my second home.( literally) I love coming to the gym. My best friend and I decided to invest in ourselves and our health and get a trainer. BEST. IDEA. EVER!! We LOVE our trainer and couldn't imagine working out without him. SO all in all- just come to crunch.P.s.- out trainer is Warner.

Great gym with a good variety of equipment. Staff and trainers are very helpful. I had a great experience training with Michael. Lost a good amount of weight and put on lots of muscle mass; I think this is the best shape I’ve ever been in. I recommend both his training services and Crunch Athens as a whole.

I started going to crunch January of 2021, and it has been the best gym experience I’ve had so far, the staff is very welcoming and motivating. I decided to get a trainer to reach my fitness goals more efficient. Jacob my trainer is very knowledgeable about everything, he talks about the science of fitness. He has taught me a lot. He’s a great trainer and I highly recommend him.

I enjoy going here and love the equipment and options. I have been going here for about a month. I am removing stars because the Gentleman I signed up with was very pushy on a package I did not want. Recently I have been getting calls about something that has been explained to me 4 times and I have told them I am not interested every time. Last week I received 5 calls in 3 days and I want them to stop. I received more calls during the rest of the week and a call today. My experience would have been perfect if not for those two things. I still enjoy going to the gym.Update, the manager called to apologize for the inconvenience and assured me that no one would be calling me... Well, the next day I received another call, yesterday I decided 2 calls where I made another complaint! I was called today 1-15-21 AGAIN about the body scan that I have asked more than 4 times to stop calling me about! This is getting silly!

I evaluate any business I exchange in commerce with in several moments: How I am treated over the course of our business arrangement, and also at the end. My experience at Crunch fitness was fine. The gym was kept up with, machines were generally clean, and the staff was friendly and engaging. All good things. Where it fell apart for me with the Athens franchise is how they handled the the termination of my membership. Towards the end of 2019 (pre-COVID), I had requested to terminate my membership at the gym because I was moving. While I admittedly should have been checking my statements more regularly, my card continued to be charged for nearly 2 years before I noticed. I called in, politely explained the situation, and the receptionist said it appeared another account under the same name had been cancelled at about the same time and that they (Crunch) cancelled the incorrect account. She got me connected to someone in management quickly. I appreciated the receptionist’s promptness and honesty.Here’s where the 1-star review comes from. Management acknowledged the issue and mistake they made on behalf of the Athens Crunch franchise, but they would only be refunding 6 months of my membership. I asked if I could be refunded the full portion of the membership I was billed for after I had originally called to cancel. They they are limited as a franchise to refund a maximum of 6 months. As a small business owner myself, if I or one of my employees made a mistake that cost a customer money, I would compensate/reimburse/refund/whatever I needed to do in order to make them whole, at the least. Again, yes, I should have checked my statements more regularly, but this wouldn’t have happened to begin with had they cancelled the correct account in the first place.

I am from out of town and wanted a great gym to go to while I was here in Athens. Spence at the front desk really gave me the best deal on my membership given that I am was only here for 2 months.I then decided to do personal training and got paired up with Matt O. He was absolutely amazing. With his help I was able to gain 7 lbs with 6 of those being pure muscle. He showed me all the things about lifting that I've wanted to learn but wanted to make sure that I had the right form to do so before I did it. He is absolutely the best trainer, hands down.Also, everyone and I mean everyone, from the front desk staff to the members are so welcoming and inviting. I'd like to give a huge shoutout to Spence and Sam at the front desk for always being super friendly and accommodating! And as I already stated, Matt for being an amazing trainer! I almost wish I didn't have to go home just so that I could stay here at this gym!

Crunch is awesome. Great for any student in college looking to begin getting into their fitness journey, but it’s honestly great for people of all ages. The gym is incredible and has everything you could hope for. Tons of machines and free weights plus the expertise of certified personal trainers and body analysis machines found in smaller, more personal gyms. Highly recommend to my friends. Will be coming back for many years to come.

Love the facility. Plenty of equipment and they keep it very clean. The staff are very friendly, helpful and caring. Brent and his team of trainers are great. They are constantly checking in with me to make sure I stay on track. The group fitness instructors keep the classes fun and engaging, but push you to do your best. There is literally something for everybody.
