Convenient location downtown with all the amenities you need. The only downside is that their shower heaters are often going through maintenance cycles during the day and most times with no signs or warning.

Nice, large gym. Bottom line: easily worth its price of $30/mo.Newish equipment, great suana.Tons of equipment but still not enough to accommodate all the people. You have to fight for a piece of equipment and have the "I'm on this one" or "sorry, I didn't know you were on this" conversation way too often. Seriously overcrowded

Super busy so it's hard to get a good workout in. Was nice to have a gym near the hotel I was staying at though, was also pretty clean even with all the people. Also the amount of homeless people crowded around the entrance made me not feel safe to go there alone.

Not much of the review guy, but this one is a rare exception. Great, and I will shout this out, GREAT personal training experience. Travis is the best one there, but rest of the team is excellent too. Price per personal training is decent for the quality you are getting.I become regular in this location, so I can confirm - parking is a pain, and it is getting busy during rush hours. But this is what you would expect from convenient downtown location anyway.

The location itself is great and convenient for people traveling and staying in the downtown area. However, they snake you on your membership while being in town. They tell you that it’s $30 per month then they bill you twice. Look at all the reviews and they will say the same thing. Do not come here if you’re traveling. You’ll end up paying way more than you should be. Disappointed in Golds. I’ll never go to another Gold’s location after this.

Not a bad gym for the price. Gets pretty busy a lot... a bit of deceptive payment contracts but at least it's not a lot of money when they bill you for an extra month because they hooked you into knowing months ahead of time when you'll be leaving.

This place is awesome they have everything here a gym rat could want. The atmosphere is awesome. The locker rooms are clean. The staff is extremely helpful. And there's plenty of things to do and look at. They have more machines there than what I've ever seen in a gym. And when you do go don't forget to go upstairs it's multi-level

I've been working out at this location for 6 months now and I love it! The staff is friendly, the facility is clean and the weight's selection is on point. When I moved downtown Austin I visited the Lifetime location since it was close to my place. They wanted $200 a month for a membership. I pay $25 a month for Gold's and it gives me everything I need and then some!

Been going here for just under 2 years since moving to austin. It's the perfect spot... location is great, the staff/management are super friendly, and has all equipment you'd need. What sold me was the fact that it had a sauna for the affordable memebership fee

Poor customer service. Was in Austin for a family wedding a few years ago. Stayed in a downtown hotel and went for a walk the first afternoon. Was happy to notice a Gold’s Gym here so I walked in and told the person behind the desk that I was in from out of town and might like to come back later with my gym clothes and membership card to work out. I asked if I could take a quick look at the equipment they have from the entrance area (not going out onto the gym floor) and he said “Sure.” A few seconds later some other guy came up and asked me what I was doing there. I told him the above story again and told him the guy at the front desk told me I could take a look at the equipment they have (as I said, from a distance without going on to the gym floor) and that I would come back later to work out. He told me in a harsh tone that I needed to get out immediately and acted like he was getting ready to force me out. I was shocked by his response. I wish I had gotten his name, but didn’t. I left and did not return. Fortunately I discovered that the hotel had an exercise room and equipment. I was dressed in business clothes, and did not in any way look like a homeless person. If this is how they treat their customers, no wonder the whole organization struggling. I was a Golds Gym member for many years, but dropped it sometime after this experience. Planet Fitness has been a much better experience.
