I had a super negative afternoon at the gym. A place that’s supposed to be for a community well over 1000 strong was made miserable by one man’s determination to limit the one giant fan anyone enjoying the upstairs cardio can find respite in, to nothing. I tried to make my case to the front desk who said they’d talk to him and never did. It makes it feel like a place women can be intimated into doing the lesser thing, and where anyone who throws a tantrum can have their way. This is especially uncomfortable for a place that hangs is hat on community fitness.

I've been going here for years. The staff is friendly. It's nothing fancy. It's a great place to sweat. If your into that sort of thing?

I haven’t been a member very long however, I have an enjoyed my experiences with the overall facility and the staff. As I am transitioning gyms, I had requested tours and visited a few other gyms before signing up. I completed the tour with Joseph and he provided a detailed and informative tour. For someone who deals with social anxiety, he made sure to show me around the entire place where I could work out without having to be in the middle of the gym. Overall it’s very spacious and I like that most cardio equipment is separate from everything else. The fitness center is very spacious and I like. There are also a few rooms that you can go into and have more discrete workout. Joseph also sent me up with my 1x1 PT Jason who was AWESOME!Jason made sure to understand my fitness goals before actually training. I explained to him my hesitation with transitioning to this type of gym, and he made sure to mold the next hour, based on my goals, and how to ease into trying new workouts and equipment. He is a very down to earth person and is very good at explaining and pushing you throughout the work out as well.

One of the trainers was working the front desk - He was amazingly helpful and patiently answered all of my questions. I'd never been to a Gold's before but he explained everything until I was comfortable. Definitely plan to return while I'm on my out of town trip. Facility was clean and members seemed courteous!

In the Austin area, this was my preferred Golds Gym location. The staff is friendly and they have a lot of space with tall ceilings so it never really feels stuffy. The place is clean, people usually re-rack weights and clean up after themselves. They have nearly all of the machines and free weights you would want. 2 hack squats, 1 deadlifting/oly platform with 1 additional platform that is attached to a squat rack, 3 or 4 squat racks, 4 benches, 2 incline benches, 1 decline bench and 2 smith machines. A full dumbbell section up to 130 or so. Plenty of iron strength plate loaded machines, a large machine section and a few sets of cables. They have a second floor with tread mills, stationary bikes, stair masters, rowing machines and a punching bag.Pretty decent for a commercial gym.

My gym opens at 8 am I went to Lifetime they wanted $50 for a day pass. Golds Gym accommodated me instead and Cassandra helped expedite my entry with no waiting or salesmanship. Highly recommend.
