My son started at Shayne Simpson's over six year's ago at age 5 as a Little Dragon, now he's a Junior Black Belt. It's been an awesome journey and worth every penny!I'm so grateful for everything they've done during COVID to stay open and safe, with remote classes and crazy cleaning. I've always felt safe taking him to in person classes.Shayne, Penny, and everyone instructor over the years have been amazing. Go watch a kids class and you'll see how fun, positive, and impactful they are!

Started by signing my son up for a trial period with orientation- at the time the gym was not yet able to conduct in person classes due to covid restrictions, but Shayne communicated directly with me about the situation and as soon as they were able to conduct in person classes I was contacted to schedule the orientation. I was given all of the options and pricing associated for my 10 yo at the very beginning which I appreciated since I like to be able to plan our family’s budget. My son has been attending classes in person for weeks now and I have found that they have been using precautions like sanitizing, checking temperatures and mask wearing at the facility. I also like that a virtual option is available and we have been encouraged to use this resource at no additional cost for extra practice. Already I have seen a change in my son’s confidence level and I love that discipline and accountability are taught and encouraged outside of classes as well!

Rock Solid Martial Arts is a family-friendly environment for kids and adults to build self-confidence, self-discipline, positive character traits, and strengthen their physical fitness. Penny Simpson and her family are so talented at what they do, but they put you at ease right away! My boys (ages 8 and 9) love attending Rock Solid Martial Arts!!! Come check them out!

lack of any customer service, terrible at correcting their mistakes, poor money management, they take money from families who are not comfortable with bringing in their children due to covid, no compassion to even remember their customers children, tried reaching them on various occasions, didnt respond to anything until posted on facebook even then poor customer service again. highly do not recommend save yourself the money & find somewhere else for your kids!!! if i could zero stars

My little guy has been having so much fun in this class, it is a little challenging for him to focus but the teachers here are so patient and definitely take the time to get to know each one. We just signed up for the 1 year and can't wait to see him do so much more. Thank you to Penny and everyone at Rock Solid.

This is one greedy business. Signed my children up pre pandemic and have been charged monthly as if my children are going. My children got to go to one class...ONE!! I asked for them to please not charge me cause well we’re not going because the country is shut down....I think that’s fair. I was told that I would not be charged during the shut down, but now that they are able to open they decided to retroactively charge me several months in one month for services we couldn’t use (BECAUSE THE COUNTRY WAS SHUT DOWN...).I‘ve emailed several times and called, without ever getting a call back. Finally got someone today a lady who was incredibly rude and had no compassion for a mother who is not comfortable sending my children to a gym where the risk is high for catching COVID. The gym cares more about filling there pockets than they care about the safety of children.

Great gym great instructors! Cleanliness is the biggest complaint I here. There isn't any type of shoe policy for using the bathroom and then running onto the mats. Also the mats are not wiped down at all in between classes ie: the kickboxing class/bjj. Theres still hair on the mats on a monday morning for the first class of the day. All easy fixes that should be addressed.Edit: I have watched several children use the restrooms without shoes on and going directly back on to the mats since this review. This is not sanitary regardless of gels on the floors. Its pretty simple to have a shoe policy for using the restrooms. They are def doing a better job of cleaning the mats but the bathroom issue needs to be addressed.!

Shayne, and the entire staff are truly excellent. There was no pressure to join, or make any hasty decisions. The classes are taught by highly skilled individuals, and there’s always something to learn. Not to mention they have the best pricing for any fitness training in Bellingham.

I am thrilled with the experience my grandson is recieving at Rock Solid. We are newbies, our third month in and I already see him growing in a positive way. He is 7, was born 6 weeks early addicted to drugs, severally trauma impacted, in a special one on one behavior program at school and recently diagnosed as ADHD. I love and appreciate that 2 times a week he is able to really feel successful. I especially love the instructors and how they hold ALL students accountable for their actions and have across the board expectations that are clear and fair. I can't explain how much this is changing his life and we will continue. I am excited to see how this helps his focus, self confidence, control and integrity. If you have ever been curious what this could do for your child, come in! Worth every penny.

My 10 year old loves Rock Solid Martial Arts. He was given a choice between going to Rock Solid summer camp and the YMCA and he hands down chose Rock Solid.Shayne Simpson and the staff are amazing, they problem solve, encourage the kids, are very caring and positive, and most importantly care about our kids social and mental well being. They give all the kids a place they can look forward to going to, a place to have fun and learn martial arts!I’ve never had any problems with any of the staff there. They are always respectful and kind. They work with you in regards to payments and when you’re able to make them, which is so important for many of the hard working families. I Love Rock Solid Martial Arts and I’m very thankful for all their support.
