Instructors at Shayne Simpson’s gym are experienced and skilled in their craft as well as their ability to teach what they know. Most significant to me, though, is HOW they teach. Every instructor teaches with compassion, patience and spirited encouragement. Each makes a point to enthusiastically and thoughtfully push students further, while also helping us improve technique. These qualities become a part of the culture of the class. The atmosphere that teachers create ultimately draws out the same understanding, respect, kindness, good humor and desire for personal challenge from the students, both veteran and beginners. Thank you for this supportive, challenging learning environment!

Two in kids Kenpo, and I get access to any of the classes. Shayne's Kenpo has given me a new attitude and the children are motivated to be active and focused!

A couple of years ago, I signed up for classes, and after several days of friendly bending-over-backward sales pitches, I paid for a year of classes up front and in-full. A few month later during drills, I dislocated my shoulder completely out of the socket and had to go to the Emergency Room. This caused me to miss work, a change of duties while my arm was in a sling, and missing classes. The trip to the ER cost me more than $2000. I explained my circumstances to Shayne Simpson over email, and he explained that I could get the refund if I sold my membership as a Gift Certificate. With no avail, I emailed him again with no response for weeks, so I decided to call, and spoke with Shayne directly. His response was something to the effect of "you should have seen this coming" and "act like a man."Now, this man is still paying the $2000 ER bill ... and out nearly another $1000 for classes that I'll never use since his "customer service." Why would I go back to use up gift certificate after I was treated so poorly? Why would I sell it to someone else and recommending that they go there when this is how they treat their clients?

I have been involved in martial arts training for over 25 years and have several certifications. I enjoy being a constant student and learning new skills.Shayne Simpson’s Martial Arts made it easy to continue my learning. Shayne and his instructors offer great expertise in all areas of training. Even areas I felt proficient in, his instructors provided a much needed reality check for my so called proficiency. Not only did his instructors provide this reality check, but also as a testimony of the great coaching and training his instructors provide, many students also gave me a welcoming reality check of my skill level. This was done without ego or belittling, just good hard training and a great experience. The best part of Shayne Simpson’s Martial Art’s is the wide variety of classes he offers. He has many disciplines of training, from Kenpo Karate, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Muay Thai Kickboxing, Mixed Martial Arts, and many other fitness programs. This demonstrates how multidimensional his school and approach to providing great training is second to none. The staff and Instructors are very knowledgeable, professional, and dedicated to student improvement.I recommend anyone regardless of your skill level to attend training at Shayne Simpson’s Martial Arts. I guarantee you Shayne and his instructors will, provide new skills, improve upon your skills, and strive to make you a better martial artist.

Only place I take my kids. Been in martial arts since 13. Studied in Japan with great teachers and this is where I go and take my kids. Shayne knows the difference between sport and fighting. What works and what's good exercise. Lots of kids and adults of all levels. Great jujitsu.

We absolutely love this school! After searching and reading and talking to friends - we chose Shayne Simpson's school and have not been disappointed. The classes are run by incredibly well trained staff that get the kids pumped up and excited about learning martial arts. Its a joy to be greeted every day by their friendly staff as soon as we enter the school. For a family looking for quality martial arts instruction, this school delivers over the top experience!

We just signed my son up for his second year in their Little Dragons program and couldn't be happier. He loves the classes, earning his next belt, and telling me about all that he is learning. I am excited that they can keep him focused and motivated to always try to do better. The instructors are awesome, they continually seem to have great attitudes and keep the classes upbeat. We also enrolled in two weeks of their summer program last year, and it was fantastic. I was able to drop him off just before 8am every day and pick him up after 5, and he always came home happy and tired. I believe they focused on lessons the first half of the day, and then played at the park every afternoon. I just wish I was young enough to attend, what a way to spend the summer.

I have seen the wonderful things that happen to children when they learn confidence. The programs here are great for all ages. Great class integration of home, school and class lessons on respect, honesty and bullyproofing and much more. Don't be a bully and Don't be bullied.

They have great facilities and great instructors for Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, and MMA. Plenty of room and great for beginners. BUT their prices are too expensive IMHO. Also, I had to wait a month and a half just to receive my money back after cancelling. As I see it, that is completely unacceptable. From a business standpoint, no good. From a training standpoint, excellent! The trainers are the only reason I gave it a 1 and not a 0 simply because of the frustration in dealing with my refund. If the prices were better, I might take some of their jiu jitsu classes. I left them for Bellingham MMA which has MUCH better prices and harder training.

Shayne Simpson's Martial Arts is such positive environment for both adults and children. The instructors have great attitudes and a passion for teaching the students. From personal experience I know that all of the instructors are incredibly knowledgeable. I would recommend this school for any adults or children who want to pursue martial arts.
