North Berkeley Bar's teachers are fun and encouraging. The studio has an upbeat, positive vibe. And it's a serious, head-to-toe workout.

Love coming here! A work out you can do almost daily, the instructors are super helpful and nice, remember your name each time you go, and class sizes are great as well. Just all around good vibes. :-)

I am in love with this place! I was part of its beginnings and became hooked...I have relocated, and still make it a point to come here, I commute from out of state and still try and make as many classes as I can..and you know why? Because it’s an amazing environment, where the staff is knowledgeable, supportive, and challenging! If you are looking to get fit, look good and feel great , this is “the place” ...after being here you’ll be spoiled and won’t want to miss a class. Wonderful staff!

I love going to Bar. It's so easy - all I have to do is show up and there is a good workout waiting for me. The instructors are all super helpful and have gotten to know me personally so if I need to modify something it's never an issue. Plus I see local friends there - which is an added bonus!

This Barmethod studio is a great place to be; very organized and clean, super friendly staff and professional instructors and they know their craft real well. I take four to five classses a week and it has made a big difference in my daily life, flexibility and strength.

I appreciate the suggestions I get from all the teachers I've taken.. the method has helped me build strength so I don't hurt my joints and my posture has improved. SO vital in my senior years. The studio is clean and pleasant. I now go four times a week at least to continue improving and fine tuning my body.

The concept of "exercise" came to me later in life. After increasingly severe migraines took me to physical therapy (posture was a major factor), I graduated to the calm and therapeutic world of Pilates. When my Pilates studio closed, I signed up for a Bar Method class with trepidation. I envisioned a "Stepford-esque" environment with pumping house music and suspiciously perky instructors. Well, two year later, I can tell you the music does pump (it's usually pretty good) and the instructors are perky, in the most lovely and approachable way possible. With comprehensive training, they're also REALLY good at what they do. The classes are full of a diverse range of body types, ages and abilities and the environment is so warm and welcoming that even a die-hard exercise skeptic like me has found a place there. My headaches are better managed now than ever before thanks to Bar's focus on strengthening posture muscles and added bonus: I'm in better shape overall than at any other time in my life. Thank you, North Berkeley Bar!

I've been coming to Bar Method in Berkeley for several years now. It's an amazing and supportive community. No pressure to be the best in the class or to where the latest Lululemon garb. The staff is always warm and welcoming and Helen the owner is always available if you need help. It feels like you're part of a family.
