New York Sports Club, located at 1 Bulfinch Pl, Boston, MA, offers a mixed bag of experiences according to its patrons. The gym is praised for its friendly staff, ample space, and a variety of equipment that support a diverse range of workout routines. Many members appreciate the clean environment and convenient downtown location, which is especially beneficial for those working nearby. However, significant complaints about outdated, poorly maintained equipment and the condition of the facilities cannot be ignored. Issues with customer service and billing have also left a negative impression on many members.

While some patrons report positive experiences with personal trainers and classes, chronic problems like broken lockers, insufficient cleanliness, and restrictive cancellation policies undermine the gym's potential. This is a great location in the center of Boston because it's close to my other jobs and I'm able to get in without having to wait for machines. Very cleanly Place very friendly staff! If you're looking for a new gym I highly recommend this place.

Buyer beware! They will NOT let you cancel. I went in on three different occasions to cancel because I was moving. Each time I was told I needed to speak with a manager, who was not there. The receptionist could not tell me when the manager would be in. Every time I called the manager I was told I needed to cancel in person, to which the chasing the tail would continue.

Terrible for $50 a month... more than half of the cardio equipment is broken at all times, NO ONE cleans the machines after they use them. I got charged randomly multiple times. This place is definitely not worth the money you pay for it... go ANYWHERE else!!!!

This club has incredible equipment access even during peak hours. Clean, quiet, with the right type if mature attitude. More than worth the membership fee!

Love this place, good equipment, nice environment and awesome staff. Worked with Jess and couldn’t ask for more, very professional, super focused on what I needed. Listened to my goals and work to create something individualized for what I was looking for. Keep up with the good work.

This gym is the best! So happy with my membership. It’s so clean and the staff is amazing. If you’re in the area and looking for a great place to workout this is it! Ms. Baxter and the rest of her team are great! They were able to assist me with any questions or concerns I had. It has been a great experience!

This location is a great for those who work downtown. I have done the kettlebell flow class with Mike , the Burn class with Bron, and total body conditioning with George. These classes were really great and helped me get fit and toned! The gym itself has so many various machines and so much space.

Becareful of cancelling your membership. You need to give a 45 day notice and must come in person. I was out of state for a few months and they said their was no way to cancel if I couldn’t come in. Later they said I could send a certified letter which was still a hassle. Most of the staff I spoke to was very friendly however there are some that give false information. I asked to put my membership on hold for a month and the women on the phone said it’s fine, and then I ended up getting charged the full price for the month. After calling again I found out you need to tell them on the first of the month (I called the 2nd) but the first women never mentioned any of that to me. They also don’t do any type of refunds. All they can do is credit your account which doesn’t help since I’m cancelling my membership.

#1: Terrible ManagementTried to upgrade my membership so I could go to all the locations in Boston. Submitted the request TWICE (IN PERSON) (TO A MANAGER) and never went into effect because they had “no record of the request”.#2: Unusably Dirty Locker RoomsPretty self explanatory, and I grew up on a farm so my tolerance is high for that kind of thing.#3: Small to the point you can’t even move around, not even only during peak hours (Government Center Location).#4: 45 day cancellation fee (even for month-to-month memberships), and a cancellation fee. Cancellations must be submitted in writing, but given my track record of submitting documentation to them and having them pretend it doesn’t exist, they’re basically holding my money hostage.Avoid this gym at all costs. Go to equinox, they’re 3 times the price but they don’t play games with their customers. I’m in the process of taking legal action against BSCs parent company.
