New York Sports Club, located at 1 Bulfinch Pl, Boston, MA, offers a mixed bag of experiences according to its patrons. The gym is praised for its friendly staff, ample space, and a variety of equipment that support a diverse range of workout routines. Many members appreciate the clean environment and convenient downtown location, which is especially beneficial for those working nearby. Bryan, one of the manager trainers, has been so great in supporting me through my stroke recovery. He is patient, kind, and thoughtful in his approach to working with me. He has been honest in things that will work and things that wont’t- as if I’m his family and wants the best for me. In just three months of meeting weekly, I feel that I’ve gotten some strength back and I’m feeling more like myself. Anyone would be lucky to work with Bryan.

My friend #21 at the front always knows how to make me laugh when I walk in the door always knows how to bring the energy!!! Knows a lot of the members names. The club has really changed cultures for the positive with the new management in place. Excited for the future of this club with the new classes and demos they are offering here. I recommend coming here and joining as you will not be disappointed.

New to the gym life, so I tried out BSC government center. The atmosphere was great and the staff super friendly and helpful. Not to mention... IT DIDNT SMELL LIKE YOUR TYPICAL GROSS GYM. Super excited to get into the fitness world and glad I chose BSC. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a gym or looking to switch gyms.

This place is great! The classes are awesome, and the staff is super friendly! I love all the trainers but have been working with Ashleigh and Luis! They are super invested in my goals, and I feel truly appreciated! The management is also great, Jess is super helpful and is always available to answer my questions! Bryan, the fitness manager is also great, as he was able to answer all of my questions regarding personal training! Great place to workout 10/10 recommend!

So the worst part to any gym, are the trainers. Any regular can tell you that, but at this gym they are particularly obnoxious. These people, who train out of shape or over the hill clients and who overcharge to do so, have recently decided that they need to be more annoying than normal. Specifically when the gym is at its busiest they reserve multiple benches or sets of weights, for a single client. I have personally seen this multiple times from multiple trainers. This strategy makes the fairly cramped basement gym feel even smaller. People who are just trying to get through their workouts are now having to wait longer because the trainers think that they are special.

I’ve been to Roxy’s yoga classes, and have also had personal training sessions with her. She is amazing to work with, very attentive in both a solo and group setting, and adjusts her workouts as needed to fit a person’s need. 10/10 would recommend to a friend!

Like many people with questionable (read: non-existent) fitness habits, I started off 2018 by buying a gym membership. I had some idea of how to use the treadmill and the bike, but anything beyond cardio equipment was a little intimidating. One of the gym managers suggested personal training, so I signed up for a few sessions with Roxy Hesh. Roxy is the best trainer a beginner like me could ask for – patient, thorough, and supportive of my fitness goals. She always managed to strike the perfect balance between pushing me to work harder, and easing off to keep me from over-exerting myself. Our workouts were always planned in advance, and she even sent me the workouts afterwards so I don’t forget what we did. I highly recommend Roxy to anyone who is new to fitness and is looking for guidance!

I like it. Good equipment and lots of space. But there are way to many people who forget they aren't the only people in the space. The locker rooms are nasty.

They can't keep the billing straight and seems nearly impossible to resolve any billing issues. It is a revolving door with staff from week to week. They do have good equipment and it is clean.

Here's what happened... I was a Washington Sports Club member under a month to month plan before relocating to Boston. I transferred my membership to the Wayland, MA club without a problem. There's a BSC directly across the street from work, so I thought it'd be useful to have a Passport membership because my commute was so long that it might be useful to use the Government Center location. So I requested an upgrade from someone who just so happened to be the general manager (Jay Harihar or something). Of course he was happy to oblige. Then, my daughter was born, and I realized that a regular gym membership would be useless. So, being on a month to month membership, I asked to cancel. I was told that my upgrade enrolled me into a one year commitment, cancelation of which would cost me $99.95. I asked to see where I signed that agreement. They printed a contract with the GM's name on it, which did not however, have my signature on it. They still refused to cancel my membership without the fee. Also the Government Center location stinks and the cardio equipment often doesn't work properly.
