Without a doubt THE BOX IN BOULDER!!! When you go to a workout at ROOTS you get to the root of exercise, the root of the movement, the root of the workout, the root of proper form, the root of a great coaching experience, the root of friendship, the root of support and the root of community. It really is all about finding your base at Roots. The coaches are phenomenal. They want you there, 100% present engaged and focused on the WOD but they also want you there for the next WOD and the next and the WOD 10 years from now. They are committed to helping you with form, functionality, movement standards and most importantly keeping you safe and healthy so you can keep crossfitting for years. Crossfit has a reputation to go hard and don't stop but not at Roots, you can go as hard as you want - if you are safe! The coaches are potently skilled at watching you and offering corrections - and aghast!! - will tell you take down weight, even use a PVC pipe if the weight is to much. That is why I keep coming back - I trust my coaches inherently and completely. And I love that they keep wanting to better themselves. They all keep testing levels up! No stopping them. The community is truly one of a kind - being a Root is something special. You make friendships that last - maybe because you see each other in such stages of disrepair that it makes friendships easy. All athletes hold each other in the highest respect. They always cheer each other on and help pick up after the WOD. And Roots has lots of social events that allow you to see each other not in workout gear. So many times I've dragged myself to a WOD against my will because I know when I get there I'll see friendly supportive faces. The facility is exactly what a box should be. All the right equipment for any WOD you need or to explore any crossfit exercise during open shop. No frills - a shower and bathrooms, changing rooms and cubbies to store clothes. It is just perfect for what a true Root needs. Nothing fancy as our focus is on the workout.Classes!!! oh hell yeah - Roots offers teen classes, over 55 classes, endurance classes, oly classes, track WODs, - really any thing that you crave, Roots will meet and surpass your desires.Really - you have got to give Roots a try. I mean where else can you do GHD sit ups while looking at the world famous Flatirons.

Come for a workout, a change of lifestyle, and a better you. Stay for the close community, friendships, and world class coaches. Crossfit roots is the gym for you. For support at all levels of fitness, for the drive to stay healthy. I moved to boulder from Phoenix and when I tried this gym on day 1 I knew it was my new home for fitness. You'll only need one class to fall in love.

Dropped in visiting bc I'd heard good things about Roots from 2 people at my box all the way back in VA (Crossfit West Springfield! Shout out!). Roots is a clean, orderly, well equipped box, and the people (5:30am crew!) were stellar. I was warmly welcomed and the movement corrections Shane offered me were consistent with my normal coach, who is excellent. I look forward to coming back!

The coaching at Roots is fantastic. All coaches are extremely knowledgable, and make sure each member is using proper form and technique. Coaches cater workouts to suit anyone's fitness level and/or any injury. The community fostered by Roots is welcoming, friendly and awesome, too.

The best coaching at any box anywhere! They don't just send you to climb ropes in a workout... They will teach you how to do every movement and scale movements that are out of your reach. The coaches are so friendly and helpful. If you want to get good at CrossFit and not get injured, you need to come here. They have an incredible Olympic lifting program too.

I've visited over 20 other CrossFit gyms and Roots has THE BEST coaching of any gym I've ever been to. The coaches at Roots aren't just there to put you through a WOD; they are there because they are genuinely committed to creating positive change in their members' lives.CrossFit Roots has provided me with a space in my life where I'm able to achieve things that are otherwise, seemingly impossible. Generally, CrossFit has made a tremendous impact on my life, but I know that the improvements I've experienced are only possible because of the unparalleled coaching and warm and inviting community.

I came to Roots in January as a total beginner, and Shane and Eric made me feel welcome. I was never the best in any of the classes but was always pushed to lift heavier, and saw rapid improvement in my body and strength. I hope that as I recover I will be able to return to Roots, and for the four months I was there, it felt like home. The facility was clean, and most of the people were very friendly. As soon as I am in remission I'll be back.

I have worked out at several different boxes and through my travels I have dropped in to several around the world. Nothing compares to the detailed oriented coaching! Tweaking my technique and helping me break through different barriers. The athletes vary in size, shape, age, and degree of intensity! No matter where you are on your path to healthier this community is welcoming, friendly, supportive, and encouraging! The class sizes are kept small to ensure every gets the coaching necessary to improve and make progress while being safe! I am not easily impressed and very skeptical but the staff go out of their way to make you feel a part of the community from day one. If you are looking for a new place or just dropping in, this is the place to be welcomed with open arms, friendly smiles, hard WODs, and the most outstanding coaching I have experienced. Its worth a look if you are looking for something outstanding.

7 years and counting!! I joined the gym 5 months after my first baby was born in 2009. I found the gym to be supportive and safe. The coaches are amazing. Every day I get the support for I need. This is not a one-size fits all gym. But it's an inclusive place for anyone in any phase of their life. No doubt this is the best Crossfit Box in Boulder.

Crossfit Roots is the most impressive training facility I have come across. Having run the gamut of fitness options in Boulder- triathlons, trail races, various exercise classes, and yoga, to name a few.....my year and a half at Roots has changed my perception of functional fitness and my fitness level forever. Nicole and Eric have struck the perfect balance of absolute professionalism and fun- their coaches are highly trained in movement, nutrition, and injury prevention, and there is a "work hard, play hard" community attitude that is extremely compelling. In addition, Roots offers many other in-house options, including physical therapy, body work, personal training, and nutritional counseling. Everyone, from the hard core endurance athlete to the never-liked-exercise newbie, can benefit from what Roots has to offer! I can't recommend it highly enough.
