I have been to many gyms around the country and CrossFit Roots has, hands down, the best CrossFit coaching you can find. The staff is committed to furthering their craft and becoming the best they can be, as evidenced by the number of Level 3 and Level 4 CrossFit Trainers and the gym's internal professional development. Roots has 5 out of the 75 Level 3's and 1 out of the 6 Level 4's in the state of Colorado. The coaches also are committed to developing and including athletes of all levels , so whether you are on a competitive level, are new to athletics, are a teen, a senior, or anything in between, you will be supported and welcomed at Roots.(Disclosure: I am related to the owners.)

Roots is the best gym I've ever encountered, CrossFit or otherwise! The coaches are exceptionally well trained and their programming focuses on movement quality over quantity which not only prevents injury but also helps even experienced weightlifters and gymnasts improve their technique. The equipment is in great shape and updated on a regular basis. The coaches care about each and every athlete who walks in the door and they take the time to get to know you as a person as well as your strengths and weaknesses as an athlete so they can help you achieve your fitness goals. Nicole puts a lot of effort into creating a sense of community and making sure the atmosphere at Roots is supportive rather than competitive. My very first day in an actual WOD class, I had 3 strangers sit down next to me and cheer me on as I finished a seemingly neverending set of wallballs. If you're looking for a great facility that provides excellent coaching, moral support and personalized training, Roots is for you!

I have been a member of Crossfit Roots for 2 years moving upon moving to Boulder. Since the moment I walked into the doors the Community, and Coaches are amazing. The coaching staff are the best in the Industry being mostly Level 3 and 4 Certified. The have the ability to pull out the best from their Athletes while keeping them safe. The owners Nicole and Eric constantly are upgraded the facility and adding new equipment. The community is best people and where i made all my friends. This is the BEST CROSSFIT BOX EVER.

I started at Roots about 6 months ago and have had the best experience. The coaches have been so helpful and informative as I am learning more about Crossfit and the movements. Each workout can be scaled to my specifics needs while being challenging and fun! I would say the best aspect of this gym though is the community. They have worked hard to create an environment where everyone is supportive of each other, friendly and very welcoming!

As someone attending the gym next door, their stealing of our parking spaces is very frustrating and got to the point where we had to put chairs in the parking spots to keep them out. They coaches are egotistical, and don't care for the safety of their people.

What a great gym! It's got it all - great facilities, equipment, and most importantly great trainers. The classes are limited to 12 so trainers can focus on the athletes. There is definitely a "family vibe" at roots and the experience is highly recommended.Only bad thing I have to say is damn, they are some awful DJ's. Don't expect to listen to any pump-up music when you are here... Hopefully they read this and get on it =)

This is the only CF gym I have ever worked out in, so I do not intend to compare to other gyms. I have been a member at Roots for 8 months. I feel that every single coach at this gym is top notch. Instruction is on point, every class. Equipment is excellent. Membership terms are reasonably flexible. Members are friendly and atmosphere is not intimidating. I have made friendships with members outside of the gym.One thing that really stands out for me, is the care, instruction and follow-up after I experienced chronic pain. My situation was evaluated by a qualified Roots staff member, essentially in a physical therapy session. A rehabilitation plan, which included stretching, massage, specific exercises (alongside WODs) was provided to me. After discussing this issue with a coach, this information and the thought of its cause was shared with all of the other coaches, which resulted in each coach checking in with me to provide personal caution regarding movements that could exacerbate my situation and/or to provide scaling options while I was in class. I found this to truly be 5-star attention. To be honest, I was skeptical that all this would correct my situation. After following the plan, I am super happy to report that I believe the origin of my pain was correctly identified, and that the rehab plan was effective. Months later, and I am now back to CrossFit at Roots as aggressively as I wish to be, and pain free. Meanwhile, coaches still check in with me specifically to see how I'm feeling. Thanks Roots, I couldn't ask for more! And here's to a healthier me!!!
