I love Triangle Rock Club and all of their very nice staff members. The climbing routes are always fun and challenging. I love going there with my friends and always try to take new people! I highly recommend this location and can't wait for the one in Durham to open up!!!

I’ve been climbing at this facility for over 8 years, and the quality of the gym has only gone upwards. The staff recognizes me by name, they host monthly member appreciation nights (with free food and raffles), shoe demos, and other meet-ups so you can find someone to climb with. It’s very easy to find someone new to talk shop with, as most of the people who climb here are well versed in their own beta. The facility is clean, and has most aspects that a regular gym would have too (like a treadmill, elliptical, stationary cycle, and rogue gym), making this the only gym you’d need to go to. It’s also fun to take your friends to because it’s both walking and driving distance to park west, where you can go for a bite after a hard session.

Great locations with plenty of options for climbing and bouldering. The autobelays are also a great resource for the more casual climber or someone who hasn't had a chance to get belay certified or isn't comfortable belaying.Careful about when you go because the place is super popular. During peak hours it can be difficult to get all of your money's worth out of a visit. But otherwise, it's the best climbing gym I've ever been to!

Not only was it easy to set it up so I could bring a group of campers with me, when we were there, the customer service was real and very helpful. I didn't feel like a number, but I was genuinely helped to the best of their abilities. We were treated as people. The two workers who came with me and my campers helped support us and encourage us all the way through. We all had a great time, and I definitely want to bring my next group next summer.

Great overall experience. I would like to see more auto belaying sections throughout the facility especially since they have the additional space. I would’ve also loved the opportunity to have a more guided approach during my first visit since it was my first time at TRC and rock climbing. There was a sweet young lady who had been there for summer camp who was extremely helpful and pleasant who offered lots advice and guidance (thank God for humanity). Overall, I enjoyed and would consider going back.

I've shopped far and wide, and this is by far my least-favorite gym in the country.First and foremost, their membership initiation fee reveals a heartlessness in their entire model. They charge $75 for you to begin to buy monthly memberships for $75 a month. That's right - if you want to try out this gym for a month, you have to pay $150. Now, it gets even better. My boss at Duke fell ill with cancer after I was there for only two months ($225). When she passed away, I terminated my account because I didn't know if I'd still have a job and I didn't want to pay to freeze an account (for all I knew, I'd have to move away). Then, 9 months later, I manage to make my way back to Durham and re-visit TRC. Guess what? That's right - they insist on charging another $75 initiation fee, so my first month would again be $150, for a grand total of $375 for 3 months of membership. When I wrote their membership director about this, she basically said "That sucks, but we can't waive the membership initiation fee."Now, what do you get for $375?Injurious route setting, large crowds, and heartless treatment that poisons the community that climbing gyms should be nourishing. The route-setting is injurious - I've encountered more spinning holds in this gym than some of the most dilapidated gyms I've ever been to, they frequently set routes intended for tall male contortionists (women and folk of average height and flexibility need not apply), they frequently use sharp holds that discourage really going-for-it, and they rarely pay attention to the security of the clipping stance for lead climbers. The crowds are large, and often filled with kids and people who don't understand the severity of climbing. In the short time I was there, I've been cruxed out bouldering with kids running around underneath me and the climbing staff laughing at the kids' behavior; I've been lead belaying and had people both interrupt me ("hey, what's this route like? what's the route next to it like?") and stand in between me and the wall.I'm saying all of this in a pure, honest assessment. There's so much cool lead climbing at Pilot, Moore's wall, Looking Glass, Linville, Obed, the NRG and beyond - it's not worth it for a devoted climber to put up with the injurious, crowded, heartless mayhem of TRC that sucks the psyche out of the climber. If you're a real climber who likes to climb outside, go to Progression and you'll meet a community of strong, happy and devoted climbers spotting each other and laughing, getting to know each other and planning for their next big trip outside. If you're a church group or a parent throwing a birthday party that doesn't know better and want to give your money to a bunch of swearing heathens with the compassion of a rabid wolf, TRC is the place for you.

As someone who does strictly bouldering - I have no real complaints. New section of the Morrisville gym adds some great variety. Membership is pricy but comparable to other gyms I've been a member at. Plus membership gets you access to all TRC gyms. Can get crowded but in my mind that's because it's a great place to climb. Bouldering problems are changed in sections with a new section every week or so it seems.

The equipment was great!! I had so much fun with my friends. but all the staff members were rude. Every body I talked to had a terrible additude. They didn't explain things good at all or go over safety rules. Also they were very disrespectful as they yelled at me multiple times for doing things that I didn't know I wasn't supposed to do. Like when my friend and I were switching belts they yelled because we were doing that wrong but they didn't teach us prior. I love the place but please get new staff members or teach them better. They all stood in the corner doing nothing

Absolutely loved the facility, but the staff failed when it came to their customer service. I was chased down the gym because she couldn't do her job right to find my waiver after I had provided the confirmation email that I had signed ut. Every interaction I had with any staff member wasn't pleasant. I try my hardest to give chances because I work in customer service too and I understand some people might be having a bad day but not an entire staff! I will be returning one more time to see if anything changes but as of right now this place ruined my experience and only gets two stars :(

Seems like a nice place. However the staff was not helpful at all for first time climbers. They stated they were too busy to show how to use the facility or equipment because they were too busy with camps. After spending money on harmesses they were unwilling to show how to use them until we asked for a refund.
