I’ve used PF since I lived in LA, never had any issues. When the pandemic started and the mask policy was issued, I decided to freeze my account just due to the simple fact that I don’t want to wear a mask when working out. I was advised that my account would be frozen until I contacted them to unfreeze it. 2 months later, I got charged for my membership. I called to speak to someone and spoke with Zack who informed me that the account could only freeze for 2 months at a time, understandable I guess. I asked when the mask policy would be over, it was unclear at that time. I decided just to cancel/close my account out in October when I spoke with Zack and was advised everything was clear and I was out of my contract. This month, November, I was charged for my account and when I called the location I was told my account wasn’t closed? So I go into the location to sign the paperwork to close my account and ask that the charge for my dues be refunded because I haven’t been to this gym since September , I was advised they “do not do refunds on dues because we use a third party billing company.” I have been trying to speak to Zack for 2 days now, no success. So hopefully this review will get your attention, Zack.

Staff is always great, but the pandemic made it really hard to justify a gym membership. Let my year contract run up. Told them that im not going to renew. Got charged after I cancelled. Called them up and they told me I never went up there to cancel. I did. Also, that my contract is for life. It is not. Its for a year and that is up and I have had it cancelled. Please, get it together.

Went in this morning to sign up for membership. The second we walked in the door it was uncomfortable. We felt that we were interrupting the employees chat session and not wanted as members. We brought up the fees we thought were required and on the website. Instead of trying to find a program that was best for us, we were just told “no that’s not on the website” No discussion or desire to have new members. So we went to the gym across the street. Very poor customer service. The first impression of your company was just rude. If you are looking to see how you can be a member of this gym, don’t bother. You won’t get any assistance or feeling of wanting to be there.

One of the few gyms.ioen with no restrictions. They have spacing between eac0h piece of equipment to fall in line with CDC recommended protocols. Staff is always smiling when you enter and leave.

At this point, PF needs to enforce a specific mask policy. Masks required at all times would allow those members who feel wearing a mask infringes on their personal rights to cancel their membership. No masks required would allow those members who feel this is unsafe to either freeze their account or cancel their membership.————————————————————I saw Joy's review and your "canned" response. I have been a Planet Fitness member for several years and just began working out again after your re-opening. After talking with the staff by phone, then in person, I saw them cleaning, members wearing masks and adhering to the "clean the machine before AND after you use it". The staff explained your "Social Fitnessing" protocol. So today I walk in and the first thing an employee does is point to a board and say "you don't have to wear a mask when you work out". She added that this goes into effect on 8/1/20. What? She said that "you're supposed to wear them when you walk in and when you walk around but not any other time. Just put it in your pocket". What?? I then witness only one person that entered PF wearing a mask. Everyone else that came in without one was allowed to enter with nothing said by the employees or management. Only one member in the club was actually wearing a mask. In the locker room, I Googled the COVID requirements for Planet Fitness and find multiple major news sites that all state that mask wearing is a requirement in ALL Planet Fitness locations at ALL times, even while working out, effective 8/1/20. Your canned response states that you will continue to follow the recommendations of local authorities, etc. and you are doing your part in keeping our community safe. Really?? What information are we supposed to believe? Tennessee has now become a red state due to the number of COVID cases and is increasing daily. COVID is a highly contagious airborne virus, whether you take it seriously or not. Not wearing a mask and not enforcing the cleaning of machines is the equivalent of going to Walmart and licking the buggy handles. A gym is one of the top places to acquire COVID due to many people in an enclosed setting, lots of talking, sweating and all areas of machines being constantly touched. COVID can live on surfaces for several hours if not disinfected. Even though I am not elderly, I am immuno-compromised, unfortunately. I have adhered diligently to mask wearing, hand sanitizing, hand washing and 6-ft social distancing practices.I felt safe coming back to the gym after hearing all the protocols you had in place to keep your members safe. Doing what you can to minimize exposure is a practice we've all learned to adapt to, even if inconvenient. A pandemic is something we've never experienced. I do not think I am being unreasonable. I am simply trying to be healthy without unnecessary exposure to a virus that can be deadly. Planet Fitness, I expected more out of you because I have always been happy there. Of course there are always the obnoxious members who never clean. We just cleaned the machines well before we used them (and of course, after). We didn't have to worry about possibly dying because they could have COVID and not care or have COVID and be asymptomatic. Take the "Social Fitnessing" signs off the machines. It's pointless to have them inoperable now since you don't require any other preventative measures. Listen Up Planet Fitness Corporate and Planet Fitness Owners -- Your Lack Of Care Or Concern About Your PAYING Members Is Appalling.

You will never have to wait for a machine. There is so much to choose from. I have the black card membership and use the hydromassage every day. Wish I could get one for my house. They have tanning beds also.

Planet Fitness is excellent value for normal people wanting to make personal fitness training a part of there daily lives. PF-Hixson is spacious, lots of equipment and wide variety. Whether your goals are cardio, strength, weight loss etc. you will find what you need here. Open 24/7 and the front desk staff is very courteous! Carly and Kary do a great job!Very satisfied with my membership.

I love working out here in Hixson Tn. It's convenient, very clean and the staff is amazing. The only suggestion I could give is to place hooks in the tanning rooms and to get Life Fitness Connect to working condition. Other than that its wonderful.

I would strongly suggest more training for your staff (considering they are all in their early 20’s) on appropriate customer relations. The morning shift employee, Carly, is very authoritarian and does not interpret the policies as written on the PF website. As a 4 week +/- employee, I know she has offended 7+ members (these members have been there since the doors opened with NO issues) with her legalistic attitude. I am aware that one member has reached out to management via email to discuss this, but no one has bother to contact her.Carly has turned a wonderful and pleasant morning workout to a place where you just wait on her to call you out for a “violation”. When she is asked, to show us in writing the violation, her response is “I’m in charge and I’m telling you what you have to do!”. The other workers there, before she arrives, have even said, “she’s on a power kick because she wants to fast track to management”. It is a shame that one employee is giving your gym such a bad community reputation in 4 short weeks. At last count 10 members are looking elsewhere for their fitness needs due to one rotten employee.

I love this planet fitness in hixson 153 , the employees are chill and always friendly. There is diversity here and everyone is friendly and mind their own buisiness....its really nice to see a positive healthy environment for all shapes and sizes. The gym is always clean.
