I like to swim indoors. In weather like today, indoor swimming is the only way to go. However, they only have four lanes, three taken by swimming lessons, and one by two other ppl. Too crowded. They should either limit their appetite for taking kids for swimming lessons, or they should lower my membership fee. When I have the demand, they cannot supply. Simple, lower your fees then due to your limited capacity and refusal of services. Summer can be even more ridiculous when there is a thunder. The whole swimming thing is closed for safety. In a modern time like this, cannot ground your building ?

I just moved here to Great Bridge 2 weeks ago. I was really excited to find out there was a YMCA location 2 miles away. I joined two days ago. Today was my we llness appointment....9 am. Well, I could not complete the appointment because the staff failed to schedule my appointment for a day when I would actually be in the computer as a member. So, the morning was wasted. My instructor could only take me through some of it......how confusing is this starting out??? I will have to see if the piece of paper the man left under the counter will still be there on Monday, my next scheduled appointment. Ok, whatever, right. No, not right. I went back tonight to use the gym and shower. The door, the main front entry door to this facility has the hours of operation posted on them. So, that is the time I am going by. It's my first day. Well I'm in the shower and a staff member comes in there and tells me they are closed......I'm in the shower, mind you. He tells me they are closed and I have to go I have to finish and I have to leave. So I'm thinking really this is really happening. I thought I still had more than 30 minutes left . Because that is what the door says that I walk through to get into the facility. So as I am putting on dirty clothes in a hurry while the man is standing there. I'm still in disbelief. I'm embarrassed why I don't know the entire places close down the lights are off and there's people standing at the front that work there just looking at me as I walk out with wet hair my slippers on and not even fully dressed. I am very disappointed I will not be going back and I will be asking for a refund. This is a true story this is exactly how it happened and I'm pretty disgusted. I mean I'm really embarrassed because everyone's looking at me and asked me really telling a man to leave the YMCA. I am just in disbelief with the staff and just a function of the facility to not change something simple as a few numbers on their front door so that this wouldn't happen to a brand new member that just paid for A membership. I am in disbelief and I'm very disappointed very disappointed embarrassed. So I got dressed in the parking lot and it's 40゚ outside. Wet hair and just really disappointed. Here it is April. I have this location another chance. Yesterday I was approached by a staff member. There were several other men on their phones. I was the only one asked not to use my phone. This man picked me from a crowd, isolated me as he stereotyped me and felt he had to say something to me, out of anyone else on their phone! I am appalled at the staffing! They are rude and judgemental.

Best YMCA and one of the best gyms around. Not cheap for a family, but worth every penny.
