The front desk staff has always been very helpful and friendly. My kids first swim lesson was great. However, they fill up fast and you have to register months in advance. Unfortunately, my experience with their lifeguard, Nathan, was not so great. He not so kindly asked how old my son was, then said he could not use the hot tub. That was fine. And I got him out. However, I had looked for a sign with age requirements BEFORE he went in (to warm up from his swim lessons), and was only able to find a sign with the hours. I explained to Nathan that they should be clearly posted outside the door so people would know, and he pointed me to a sign in the corner that was impossible to see, even in the room you can't notice it. He obviously missed the point. Instead of passing my suggestion on to his boss like I asked, he thought it was better to argue and keep pointing to the sign you can't even see. This really put me off and if the swim lessons and front staff were not so good, I would not be back. We usually go to Cottonwood but they don't offer swim lessons. At Villasport, my son was old enough, and their sign was visible BEFORE you got in the hot tub. If you want people to know the rules and follow them, then have them posted where you can clearly see them. Especially for new people not familiar with the rules.

I'm not sure what has happened in the past month or so, but prior to that I would come home from USAFA do about 45mins to a hour in the pool and head home and it was great! Some days you'd have to share a lane but mostly you had lanes to yourself. Recently though every time I've showed up either the pool was closed or limited to 1 lane at the 4:30pm hour? And what's worse is the 1 lap lane that is open often is full of Children playing in the lane instead of doing lap exercises.

Things are randomly closed with no notice, the swimming instructor made two of my kids cry. They are terrified of the water now. The manager offers zero help and just suggests that we cancel our membership. They won't do anything to make things right. We have had so many problems here, way too many to list. Please avoid this place at all costs!Edit: thanks but no thanks YMCA. I already dealt with your management and they sucked. Why would I waste my time reaching out again?!? If you are going to refund my membership for the last 6 months I'll happily spend my time giving more constructive feedback. My time is not free.

I just started taking my son to swim classes here. The teachers were SO patient with him, flexible with me, and in two lessons he's already learned quite a bit. I'm really happy with my experience.

Great facility the frustration is finding child care slots. The staff says to get on when it opens but it is very difficult to get a slot for two different age groups. Perhaps a cancelation policy for the folks that continually cancel their child care last minute; taking the slot from a parent who would actually use the time, on a regular basis.

Great customer service at this neighborhood YMCA. We continued to pay our membership dues as donations when they closed in March 2020 (pandemic). I assumed that my dues would continue to be be donations when they opened back up since I didn’t use the facilities per military orders. I appreciated the efforts of Mr. Corey Calcote, Briargate Executive Director, and Ms. Shannon Rauen, Director of Development and Planned Giving. They communicated well and worked with me to turn my dues into tax deductible donations and freeze my account for four months. We’re excited to return when conditions allow.

We are very pleased with the attention and training our children have received in swimming classes at the Briargate Y. We have already signed up for two more months of classes because we are so pleased with the progress they have been able to make in such a short time.

Especially appreciate that swimming lessons take up part of the pool, don't close the pool for the afternoon. Great, friendly, helpful staff. Clean facility.

Great gym with everything you need without being excessively expensive or with unnecessary equipment. I love the team at the front desk and the learn and play, and how they take care of my kids. They do a great job with the kids and love my kids as their own. My 5 year old looks forward to going to kids club everyday when Mommy goes to the gym. I can get my workout in knowing my kids are safe and extremely well taken care of. My 1 year old smiles everytime she sees the staff there because of how well they do with her! Thanks so much to the whole Learn and Play team!

The Learn & Play Staff are exceptionally loving. I feel they care about our children. Some of the best care we have experienced in five years of childcare. They are happy and enjoy their job. They are kind and patience, and give extra attention for each individual child; exceptional care!
