Gold's Gym Harrisburg, NC

I've been calling in to my location since last may to cancel my account. They kept telling me they're doing cancellations because of covid and that it can take up to 30 days to process the request. Well they just ended up charging my account month after month as I called in every time to re-start the cancellation process. I've spoken with the GM and numerous other employees almost every month about this. I had to cancel my card in order for them to stop charging me. Now they're demanding payment for the last month of my "contract" or they will send it to collections. Gold's Gym is not a place I would recommended.

I went here for a tour 3.5 years ago when I moved into the area. Decent enough facility, but I could tell from the get-go these people wanted to drain as much $$$ out of every client as possible.I have unsubscribed from their emails 5 times ever since then. Just got another today. Not to mention all the other fitness-related spam emails I started to receive around the time I gave them my e-mail. They really do want to squeeze as much money out of you as they can.Either every gold's is like this, or the manager at this specific place hires poor "associates" (salespeople)

I have been coming here for more than a year! Love coming, always clean and alway friendly. The staff here are nice and always welcoming. They have good equipment and not worn down. Whenever I go, no matter what time, I always see people I know. Great gym here in Harrisburg, I recommend!

They didn't allow me to cancel my account during the pandemic. I paid the full length of my contract and they did the automated renewal. When I request an account cancellation I was told the renew was for a TRIMESTER. I asked to cancel then, not to be charged for the following month (now giving them more than 30 days), and it still hasn't happened. A month later, my bank account has another charge for this gym membership!! I called and they tell me they can't cancel my account and that I have to call a different company to get that done. End of story, I paid way too many months that wasn't used and I had to cancel my debit card in order not to be charged again. Horrible business!

Update: 3 years since my last review. It has improved and overall the gym is clean. Equipment is aging but being maintained. Biggest issue is no way to clean the equipment, with paper towel dispenser and hand sanitizer stations empty throughout the gym. Fair price. Body-pump instructors are amazing driving the class to have fun and get an incredible workout.

Poor customer service, bad experience with management when trying to cancel. They still owe me over 8 personal training sessions and they are not willing to refund my money back. I live in Harrisburg and would not recommend this gym. I now have my lawyer involved to try and recoup what’s owed to me.

Ok gym, terrible communication with their members. Third night in a row I’ve had trouble accessing the “24hr” gym. Upon calling the 800 number and giving all of my personal information, I’m told that the owners know there’s an issue with the card reader and I cannot access the gym. Will be canceling my membership and will hopefully be able to do this based on “failure to perform to their contractual duties” (access to the gym).Even before they went 24hrs, there were many days the manager/shift manager didn’t show up until 9:30 for a 9am opening, or didn’t open at all. If you’re looking for a gym in the area, I’d look elsewhere.

Hands down the best Golds gym I have been too I will be a lifelong member and I appreciate all of the hospitality.

GREAT Gym! CLEAN,professional staff, challenging and great Flow instructor and even the members are friendly and considerate. I would love to give another star for cleanliness :)

I joined in hopes of feeling like it was a comfortable, clean, innovative facility. It’s not. Machines always broken, hot inside, lack of professionalism, and hidden fees... I honestly cannot wait to leave. It’s sad. I had high hopes but definitely was let down.
