My daughter started attending Kickaros in late October. She has enjoyed learning Karate so much and Mr. Michael has encouraged her to do her very best. She looks forward to the days that she has karate and can’t wait to show me her new “moves” after class. She has grown confidence in herself and went from being shy in class to demonstrating in-front of the class. We can’t wait to see her continue to grow and learn here.

Mr.Michael is awesome with the children. He has the perfect combination of kindness and structure. My daughter is thriving at Kickaro's. She asks us if she can go to Karate! In the world we live self defense and self discipline and being centered are as essential as school / academics !

Ever since my son started at Kickaro’s, he has become much more confident and has had major positive changes in school! He is much more confident in school work which in result, he’s getting excellent grades. He is also more sociable and not scared to make new friends. Mr. Mike is an awesome motivator who helps his students become their own leaders and reminds them to always try their best. Before you sign up for classes, Michael takes the time to have a free one on one consultation with your child and you to show them some basics, see how they like it, and so you can see how they interact with him. There is no pressure to sign up. Michael is absolutely amazing with kids ( and so very patient!) My daughter hasn’t stopped talking about what she has learned so far and is excited to come back for classes. It was so nice to see her go from being extremely shy to running around and high fiving him in a matter of 10 minutes. I am excited for her to have such a great teacher and know that she is in good hands. Her confidence has already increased just from this one meeting.

I’m a preK teacher at the Goddard School in Monroe. The owner of Kickaro’s Martial Arts comes here once a week to teach a special karate enrichment class to all of our preschoolers and preK students. Speaking as a teacher, his gentle direction of the children, his enthusiasm, and his clear love of teaching is readily apparent. I’m also a parent, and my daughter took classes with him when she was younger. I saw an improvement in confidence, listening skills and discipline very quickly after she started. I highly recommend!

We used Kickaro's Martial Arts many years ago for our older son. Recently our younger son started attending there and nothing has changed! Mike is great with the kids, he makes my son excited to keep coming back each week and learning Martial Arts. My name is Shannon and I trained in Karate for 10 years at Kickaro’s and earned a Junior Blackbelt. Although I no longer train for personal reasons in my own life, I will never regret training at Kickaro’s. Sure there will be ups and downs but that’s all a part of training. You can’t get good at anything without failing in the process. Even as a Junior Black Belt there were times I wasn’t always able to put my all into it, but training at Kickaro’s, made me stronger mentally and physically, and I was able to keep going and going. Mr. Michael is a great teacher and super encouraging. He strives for all his students, to do well at training and when you make mistakes it’s okay. Mr. Michael is there to help & encourage his students and help them along, as they become stronger physically and mentally. This training is super important for every day life. Little did I realize how strong I really am having trained in Karate since I was 4 years old! I have more strength than I ever thought I would have, because of my training. Training here really gives you amazing life skills. Thank you Mr. Michael for being a wonderful support for me throughout my 10 years of training! I am beyond grateful to have trained with you at your studio and have gained amazing life skills that I will carry with me the rest of my life!!

This is an amazing place for children to learn not only Karate, but also help with general life skills. Our 5 year old loves going to class and has become more confident as he’s learning how to manage his body and learning good fitness regimes. Mr. Michael is very patient and great with children if all ages and works with you and your child to create a fun environment for all. Highly recommend.

My son has been going to Kickaro’s for about 10 months. He enjoys it and always is excited when it’s karate day. He has moved up 3 belts in this timeframe. Mr. Michael is kind and offered support when my son was unsure about going 4 months in. He had a talk with him and it made an impact as my son loves it. My son sets goals for himself and is disciplined when it comes to it. The only issue I have which has nothing to do with the class itself and shouldn’t be a big deal but it is to me. I wish parents followed directions and had common sense. There are signs everywhere about forming 1 line when you pick up your child. Most of us get in line 6 ft apart and wait patiently for our turn. You have parents coming in after and wait by the door and choose not to line up. Be respectful parents.
