I signed up online so i didnt have to take my cards inside with me. I went to the front desk and waited 10 minutes until someone came over to give me my keytag and everything. He took my picture and handed me my keytag, then told me the womens locker room was through the yellow doorway and if i had questions to come ask. No sticker, no shirt as promised online, no tour, no anything. And when i went to the desk to ask questions they made me feel like i was a burden to them. Ive never been to a gym before i didnt know where anything was or how to work 90% of rhe equipment. Very unhappy about my experience there.

Since PF flagged my last comment, let me say this: take your business elsewhere. If you truly care about your health you won't join a gym that serves bagels and pizza. If you care about your health you won't join a gym that costs $10 a month because the old adage "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here. This is a sub par gym, and it's a scam. They want to sign up as many people as possible, and they don't care if you go or not. It's better for them if you don't. So, it'd be better for YOU if you never even considered it.

I give two stars because I have not actually been to planet fitness so I cannot attest to the equipment, facilities, etc. However, I can attest to the business practices and why I am not a new customer. If I wanted to try their gym, as a potential member, possibly switching from their competition they want to charge me $15 for a one time visit. Whereas the monthly membership only costs $10. Personally, I find it unreasonable and poor judgment on their part to charge potential members more for one session than the cost of a monthly membership. Most gyms offer free trial passes to new members as an enticement to join the gym and pay for a membership. Planet fitness apparently is not interested in gaining new clients.

Not pleased at all.. Joined up, never got the free t-shirt that was described. I honestly don't mind that much, but it is a little bit of a false advertisement. Went through the 'personal tour' which ended up being a few people together, so it felt awkward. Asked about a private trainer, since this is a service that they do offer, and I got a call saying they'd be in touch with me... Annnnnd.. Nothing. Felt like it was a hassle to even ask again and was told they'd be in touch. But not a single phone call. The next time they called me, they were asking for my new credit card information. I asked what I had to do in order to cancel my account. It is ridiculous. I've joined the Crossfit gym down the street and I've thoroughly enjoyed working out there instead.

Awful hours. I really, really wish it was a true 24/7 gym. Also, the towel situation is really gross. You're supposed to use a towel to wipe your sweat, then use it to clean the machine..? The TV situation could also be better. Way too many sports channels are being aired. I doubt people are getting energized by poker and bowling. I'm heavily considering going back to my old gym that's 3x as expensive as soon as my year is up.

I signed up online which was an awesome process. Then I went in to get my card, shirt, whatever was promised to me.....I barely received any customer support at all when I went in. In fact the girl at the counter was more focused on the two guys working with her than the customer standing in front of her. She finally said what can I help you with, I let her know I signed up so she looked for my information, took my picture gave me a key tag and told me to have a nice day. That was it....nothing else. I was kind of dumbfounded so I just left. Two days later I went back for a workout, I asked someone for help and again barely got noticed that I was standing at the front desk. The guy pointed things out to me (again no physical tour) and said enjoy your workout. There were no towels, and I had to ask for paper towels. After reading other reviews it appears that the customer service is not fantastic for others as well...I was starting to think it was me. I am debating on paying for another month because my first month is over and I am not satisfied one bit...I really don't even know how to use anything for fear that the staff is going to think I'm annoying them, which defeats the purpose of going to this gym vs. the more expensive more posh gyms. At this point I would rather be around a bunch of 'lunks' than a bunch of rude employees.

Great place to work out. Large facility with dozens of cardio and weight machines, lots of dumbbells, and open space for floor work, stretching, etc. Staff is efficient and friendly; very willing to assist as needed and responsive to issues.

New way to sanitize equipment is UNSANITARY!!! Ppl wipe their own sweat, then transfer it from machine to machine. STAPH infections rampant. MRSA Please go back to sanitary paper towels. Equipment cup holders are grossly contaminated. If this doesn't change, I'm finding a cleaner place to work out. The only towel deposit is at the front door!!!! So no one washes their hands after using these filthy towels.

Here are my feelings about this place: The manager looks PO'ed about something every time I see him. He looks like he is burying inner aggression at all times. And I feel like he stuggles to fake his barely friendly interactions. I feel like he doesn't want to make eye contact. One of these days I'm gonna stop biting my tongue and ask him if he is either has roid rage or an unhappy home life. Ok, maybe I'm exaggerating a little bit about the manager here but you get my point. I so far I am neutral about other employees that work there.I have always wondered that if planet fitness is a "judgement free zone" then why do they only seem to hire cute college age kids to run their counter. As if these young hotties could possibly empathize with fat people when they've never been fat. I'm pretty sure there is some judging going on by them. You can feel yourself being judged. If i really wanted my patrons to feel unjudged I'd hire people in who were at least 50 pounds overweight. That type of employee is the type that needs that included membership anyways to help them help themselves. "Judgement free zone" LOL. I'm not buying it.One of the things that I don't understand about this club is that its in a huge market, its a large club, it underprices its local competitors by far and yet its still not a full time twenty four hour club. Sorry, but 24 hour means the weekends too. There are smaller clubs that pull twenty four hour business in southwestern Ohio. So I don't get it. They need to market differently. I've been in one of their clubs that had a lot of senior citizens in it for example, and they were often in there at 5 or 6AM seven days a week because they are retired and have nothing better to do but take care of themselves and throw around their money. They have a good location also, so what gives?

They went through a couple managers recently and I think they finally settled on one That is a little more personable. Not everyone is made for customer service. The place has a much better feel now.I've got one issue with this gym, every Friday night about 7pm i get the urge to go work out. Same for Saturday, but they are closed. I guess the owner doesn't want to go full 24 hours during the weekend. Maybe the employees don't support it. Though, I'm sure that I'm not the only person who wants to go in during off hours when there aren't so many people there. After a long week I find its easier to go into the gym on the weekend, its not always easy to make time for it during the week. And I sometimes keep odd hours anyways. I think this area would certainly be able to pull the business to justify adding staff and keeping it open for people like me, especially with the prices other gyms are charging. The Fairfield store was able to do it with some staffing changes and it worked out well. One other thing i realized while there today. A lot of the machines don't go very high in weight. I would say that they are designed for basic conditioning. Maybe its the anti-lunk philosophy, but you cant lift heavy here at planet fitness. The first day i walked in I was living a sedentary lifestyle and I put the whole rack(390 pounds) on the seated leg press and did four sets of 10-12. The weight just didnt go high enough. I need it to go up to something like at least 800 pounds on that machine. I'm also well into the upper half of the upper body machines. I just don't feel like I should be able to outgrow the equipment, but in time I easily could. And I was there day 1 on the seated leg press.
