Life Time

I have been with Lifetime Fitness for about 3 years. Had my membership signed up at Old Orchard, but spent most of my time at the Vernon Hills location as it is closer to work. However, I live a minute away from the Old Orchard location. Every time I attempted to work out here, it has been absolutely terrible. These are my reasons.- They recently remodeled the gym floor to make space for the group fitness etc. Moving all of the weighted machines so close to each other that I find myself literally hugging the person next to me.- Most of the weighted machines are older -- for the premium rate you pay for a membership here, this is embarrassing.- I find myself constantly trying to navigate between machines - the layouts are very mickey mouse - nothing make sense. Appears to just drop machines wherever there's space for it. Again, for a premium rate you pay, you'd expect some kind of uniformity/consistency/flow.- This might not only pertains to this location, but why doesn't Lifetime Fitness regulate the machines in every location to be consistent and current. A few of the weighted machines available in other locations aren't present here -- maybe there's no demands for them -- it's so bogus.

I love this gym. Everything is top of the line, a good variety of classes, friendly staff and clean facilities. The kids academy is awesome. Although, I do with the infant room was consistent with the rest of the academy hours wise. My biggest complaint would be the outdoor pool area. Because towels are provided, families decide to reserve more chairs than needed. Personally, I just don’t see a reason for every small child to have their own chair reserved when they are playing in the pool the entire time. It makes it hard for people to find anywhere to sit. It’s annoying to see almost all of the chairs without people on them the entire time while I’m looking for somewhere to actually sit and relax/tan.

I have only been to a Lifetime fitness location a few times in my life. But this location at Old Orchard tops the cake!I cannot believe how great ALL of the staff were to my staff at Jacobson & Tsou Orthodontics from the Chicago office last weekend. Our bosses treated us to a spa day. In which Lifetime offered us the day to use as a membership pass. We not only had an excellent spa treatment, but we also were able to use their basketball courts, workout area, sauna, pool, etc. We were even given complimentary treats after our Spa treatment.The manager from the Spa, Tayag Nikko, was very polite and accommodating for our needs. He went above and beyond what I expected as a non member for this health club.I truly appreciate every staff member at this location and would like to return someday as a member with my staff, family and friends.Thank you again for a memorable experience that will go in the books forever!

Cancelled my membership TWO months ago, and they’re still charging me. I’ve seen that other people had that problem, but We felt like still giving them a chance. BIG MISTAKE. They’re saying I have a balance of $600. They’re nuts.

Expensive but really good gym near Skokie and Niles. Experience: no one ever says anything, everyone always their business no like the in Schaumburg. Just one they had make me leave because he were reconstructing but apologize for inconvenience.

If you want to belong to a personal training club that also lets people workout you found the right place. No fitness club in the country cares less about their clients than Lifetime Fitness and here are 3 examples to prove it.1. They have advertisements for personal training with the same 4 minute video loop running on the TV's 24/hrs a day 7 days a week. Its so motivating watching that everyday when you workout. (joke)2. They have taken down all the TRX straps because the clients liked them, because it was taking up to much room for personal training so they no longer have any. Can you imagine a club taking equipment away because their clients were using it to much. They dont care.3. Just finished a 900K renovation that did 0 literally 0 to improve the customer experience. They put up this huge worthless bar system because they knew clients would never use it, which would clear out more space for their personal trainers. They added an awesome heart rate tracking system to one cardio station that allows clients to monitor and track there heart rates while running, but of course it is off limits to any individual clients like me that ONLY pay $110/month. The system can ONLY be used for personal group training. No fitness club in the world hates their individual clients more than this health club. The only reason they are in business is to push and sell more & more personal training. This new monitoring system was part of the big upgrade but 98% of their clients cant use it. They did not add 1 new machine for 900K. They added 5 new weight racks that are all taken every single day with you guessed it personal training. Oh and by the way all the personal training is just a bad version of Crossfit.If you are looking to overpay for a fitness club and like to watch other people take up the majority of the space with personal training then this is the club for you. If you want to belong to a club that absolutely hates their non personal training clients than this is the club for you. It does have great location and parking which is literally the ONLY reason this club is in business.

Have been going to LT for over 10 years. Staff if always very friendly and accommodating. I'm thankful for a fantastic yoga room unlike many other LT clubs with a studio feel and Larissa running a great program.

Very nice. Everything is simple and neat. The childcare center is excellent and so are their programs. The only thing I don't like is the cafe, but you can bring food from other places. The pool is very nice and it is heated.
