Life Time in Skokie, IL offers an extensive range of amenities including pools, fitness classes, and facilities tailored for families. The club prides itself on being a welcoming place for individuals of all ages, especially children. Despite plentiful amenities, issues with cleanliness, overcrowding, and maintenance persist, affecting the overall member experience.

Good solid upscale gym! I can do all my Olympic lifts here which is appreciate, and nearly any piece of equipment that you might want to use is available or available upon request. Lots of options which are good for those with young children as well. The cafe is a bit pricey but has some decent stuff, and there's a spa which I've never tried but my wife says is greatMy main complaint would be the price. There are gyms that are about half the price at which I could do all the things I would like to do, but the fact that they have multiple locations at different places around the city and it's suburbs has really been helpful when I'm visiting my folks or friends or at home so that I don't need to miss a workout. Some of the facilities are aging in some of the clubs, but the majority are well maintained. I do wish they had more specialty trainers though, in particular for competitive sports purposes. Most classes are free which is terrific though and probably justifies some of the extra cost. My wife loves them. Pilates is the exception.

Lifetime is an excellent family friendly place to work out. The sauna and steam rooms are great assets as well for relaxation. The basketball courts are accommodating with plenty of basketballs. I worked with Miko my trainer who was great in instructing me in proper and safe technique in lifting, and my strength has since improved noticeably. Overall my experience was very positive.

Lifetime is worth every penny. The gym is super clean. They wipe down the equipment constantly. The facilities are top notch. They have a great COVID protocol in place that include temperature checks upon entry. The equipment is always clean. The only complaint I have is that members don't re-rack their weights. It's not worth taking a star off. It's just a personal pet peeve of mine. Nonetheless, the facilities are bar none.

I’ve been a member for more than 8 years and just left because when kids were young it was great however, when your wanting me time at even past 9pm they only have few staff working and kids will be at poolside and getting really loud which shouldn’t happen so often no one available to control the situation. I’ve given enough money for not to happen.

I had a membership for about 5 years. I am not sure what happened, but the place got really badly managed, dirty, and became all about the upsell. There are always people who seem to ‘work’ there standing around talking to each other and gawking at women. The women’s locker room smells terrible! People color their hair in the showers, the shower walls and floors are filthy w/built up ick, the locker area always has clumps of hair and toenail clippings, it’s just gross. I love to swim, and I had to stop swimming because of the way people, particularly men, behave in the swim area. Groups of men sit in the whirlpool facing the jets! They stare at people swimming laps. People from the upstairs workout area, come into the swim area completely sweaty and plunge into the lane pool to rinse off in their workout shorts. The amount of hair, bandaids, and other debris that is floating in the lap pool is scary! In the sauna, people workout as if they will have a better workout in a hotter temperature. The area around the pools are completely filthy. I don’t know if they ever clean the floors. People sit and clip their toenails, etc.. and they leave them all over the ground. I used to love Lifetime. I would never go anywhere else, but it really got disgusting.

I signed up for Life Time Old Orchard in summer this year. There is really nice staff there, clean, and I really like going there. But the account manager Michael doesn’t respond for my emails and he is not nice to me I have no idea why. I called and I got some information about my account finally which I needed.

If you're looking for a gym that offers a lot for families and at a reasonable price, look no further, Life Time Athletic is it! I've been a member for almost 2 years at the Old Orchard location, but have been to other Life Time locations in Illinois and other states. They've built their locations to closely match each other, which is helpful when you need to use a certain type of equipment and travel. Kids over 12 can use the gym equipment (no free weights) supervised by a parent and for that I am grateful. No gyms in Chicago offer that option. The pools are both indoor and outdoor and extremely clean. In general the gym is alway spotless. I've eaten in the cafe, all the food is served fast and fresh! I've also used the spa and salon, all the staff is great and I love getting my hair done by Shamy in the salon. She's excellent. I have also gotten massages, my kido has gotten facials (they have a teen express facial that is excellent). They also offer a VIP package with the salon which makes getting blowouts a steal! Highly recommend that service. The pool area also has two hot tubs, an olympic size pool (much chillier than the zero depth family pool). The family pools are so warm, no need to warm up when jumping into them, they also have two slides and safety breaks for the kids and staff hourly. It's a 10 minute break and the adults can stay in the pool while the kids take a break. The outdoor pool has two slides, and an adults only section. Outdoor chairs also have an adults only area (in case you need a break from the toddlerfest). They also offer camps for younger kids, a ton of great classes and staff who teach them too! I go there more for the equipment, but I really love an occasional class too. There's a basketball court, and wall climbing area, and probably more I haven't explored. They literally have it all. When I go there, it's never under 2-3 hours, just too much to do! It's worth the membership fee, which compared to Chicago's fees for comparable clubs is very reasonable. I wish they'd open in Chicago, but the location is only 9 miles from home and worth the drive. Free wifi for guests, childcare is offered and you can get in a great workout without waiting for equipment! It's like a staycation if you are an athlete. They also offer free passes for guests every month, another perk!

I have been coming to this place since it was first built back in early 2000's and the monthly membership was 60.00. Alot has changed since then. They lock the door after 10. it is not clean in the locker room and the staff is very rude. Especially the old man who works the night shift. He has treated me very disrespectful on more than one occasion. He also can be heard bad mouthing members in and around the mens locker room. It's really terrible when you don't even want to go at night because of an employee! We as members pay too much money to be treated this way.Management needs to do something about him immediately.

Only been two days but start up was a breeze and everyone was very welcoming. So far I've meet the GM Matt, Roxy, kids manager Mary(amazing), Jonathan at the front desk and Jeff manager of training. This place has a very positive vibe and you can tell everyone is there to help your needs.Anyone that's been to a few gyms knows the sign up process can be a awkward timeshare like pitch. I was quoted the same price as online without any extra fee surprises. I was also given a few extras as well as a full tour. Second day was the on board process with Jeff and he was honest about the work I need to put in order to reach my goals. No big sales pitch just rates for personal training and what they offer.Gym and locker rooms were spotless. I was there from 0900 to 1100 and there was no wait time for equipment. Lifetime app makes getting into classes a breeze. Equipment is all very clean, new and well spaced out. There's a one star review complaining about the layout. I thought the flow was great and for how packed the parking lot was, there is so much space to do any type of workout in at least a dozen places.Best part imo is the kids club. Mary and her staff are on another level. I have a 3,2 and 3 month old boys and they love it. 2 yo took a spill and they had a ice pack on his multiple bruised head. He bumps it at least 6 times a day. 3yo was in a yoga class of which was a choice with two other options. This membership is pretty high for us but with the level of care my kids receive from Mary's staff I feel like I'm getting a hell of a deal. Also any non walking child under the age of 1 needs to have a appointment. You can book it upto 48 hours in advance and I've had zero issues getting him booked for four days so far.I look forward to tomorrow's workout and hearing stories from my boys about how much fun they had. Great job LT!

I usually don't write reviews but this place deserves one. First time at an Onyx club I am not impressed the bathrooms are dirty. The staff just sit around and talk and milk the clock. The night staff just clean the floor half right and never wipe machines down. Every lifetime I have been too, never change the filters on the h20 fountains plus the water is warm. Can't wait till a different company takes them out of business.
