Life Time in Skokie, IL offers an extensive range of amenities including pools, fitness classes, and facilities tailored for families. The club prides itself on being a welcoming place for individuals of all ages, especially children. Despite plentiful amenities, issues with cleanliness, overcrowding, and maintenance persist, affecting the overall member experience.

I have been a member here for 7 years and the club has gone downhill since we first joined. The last straw was today when I went in and tried to cancel my membership and was told that my contract required me to pay through the end of November. I told them that they should not be holding me to something I signed 7 years ago and that as a member who has consistently paid for all of that time, they should not be charging me for an extra month. Unfortunately for, the manager said that there was nothing he could do about it and the corporate office said the same. The only reaction I got from them is that the contract I signed in 2010 required me to pay the extra month.I have had other complaints about Life Time along the way but I feel that my final exchange is indicative of most of my experiences with them. It is a shame because there are some very nice people that work there, they are simply bound by very customer unfriendly corporate policies.Buyer beware.

Childcare center is excellent! Care givers are caring and competent and many have been there a long time, which says a lot. Environment is safe, clean and updated with variety of activities and classes for the kids to do. I appreciate being able to leave my baby and toddler in a safe, enriching and caring environment. Kudos to this team!

I do not have a membership with these people. I authorized my brother to use my debit card for a ONE TIME TRANSACTION in the amount of $36 and these people are leeches! They have charged my account 3 times now to the tune of $111.25 each time!!!!! I called my bank to report fraudulent charges for the two times they charged me that amount. My bank cancelled my debit card and sent a new one, to NO AVAIL! Because these scum bags just charged my account yet again! Great to know that they just continue to fraudulently charge my account the $111.25 each month which I certainly did NOT AUTHORIZE!!!!

Not worth the money or the hassle dealing with the pretentious environment here. The place is not organised well. Their Lifetime app claims there are classes but when you arrive it isn't what was on the app. The gymnasium isn't always available due to children or group classes which also isn't posted anywhere. There are theft issues and the only help from the staff is, "File a police report."It is 24/7 though except when they are closed on some holidays. The parking is terrible during peak times - the lot is not large enough to support the amount of active members. The rate I pay also has increased although I recall being told I would pay what I signed up at and new members may have increased membership. Not the case.

The gym is definitely not stellar. The towels never seem to get clean, the equipment is in working order but is not the latest equipment, and it is very expensive. The worst part is when you want to cancel, you either have to physically come in (during their manager hours) or send in a written letter. It is a really terrible process and then when you come in, they don't even ask for any type of identification, you just say your name and you can make it happen. I will never join them again. When you pay well over $100 a month, you should have a better experience.

Top quality classes and instructors. The club offers a huge variety of classes, a rock climbing wall, two large pools and top notch customer service. I love the quality of the club and all I experience there.

It's just ok. I've been a member for almost 10 years and they clearly do not cap the amount of members. The place has become incredibly overcrowded. The staff ranges from nice and helpful to very rude and incompetent.Just last night I asked the upstairs desk attendant to put on the Blackhawks game, he handed me a phone, pushed a button and said, "talk to the front desk." The front desk picked up (at 8:15pm on 3/18/13 in case a manager is reading this and wishes to get a better employee) and she said with an attitude, "Call operations." and hung up on me. We didn't have the number for ops and the attendant hurried away b/c going home on time is clearly more important than helping a member. So I asked a personal trainer who was nice and said he'll make sure ops gets the word. 45 minutes later!! the towel boy starts flipping through channels and stops on a COMMERCIAL for the Blackhawks and walks away. Turns out it was actually a Bulls game. I will be switching gyms at the end of the month.

lifetime fitness is a great family place. The people there are so nice and friendly. They make e enjoy being apart of the club. The employees are so friendly. Every time I walk in I am greeted with a smile and an how am i doing. The classes are a lot of fun. The rock climbing wall is a lot of fun. I like how they change the course at the wall so it challenges me differently every time i climb the wall.

I’ve been a member since ’07. LT is the best club I’ve every belonged to. The things I like:Wide variety of classes, almost all of them free.Facilities include rock climbing wall, basketball courts, spinning room, racquet courts, pilates and yoga studios, free weights, weight machines, tons of cardio machines, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, 2 indoor pools (lap and recreation), 1 outdoor pool, child care facilities, family locker room.Trainers that make you aware of the products and services available without pushing you to buy stuff.A whole life approach that starts with kids. Yes there are kids here, mostly in the pool area, at camps during the summer, or having birthday parties. Not on the second floor where most of the workout equipment is. Deal with it.A cafe with decent food, for adults and kids.A salon with an outstanding staff. Love my stylist.Ample parking. Only 1 time in 5 years did I have to lurk for a parking place. It was during peak time and also during their hugely popular Zumba class. I think I had to hunt for about 5 minutes before I got a spot.I have NEVER, ever at peak times, not been able to complete a work out. Every when some muscle-head hogs the dumbbells while admiring himself in the mirror, I’m able to find a machine that does almost the same thing. The one thing that embarrasses me it that there are members that exhibit the typical Northshore attitude of expecting the employees to act like servants and pick up after them and cater to their every whim and treat the place like their own personal, private gym. It’s OUR club. You’re a MEMBER, not an OWNER. Pick up after yourself and be polite.

What a sham this place is. Nice, large facility, but it is oversold and a rip-off. When you want to cancel, they tell you that you must do so in person. When you cancel in person, they tell you that you will have to pay for the remainder of the current month and all of the coming month, as provided for in the contract you sign. When you accept this and cancel, they continue to charge your credit card for 4.5 MONTHS following your cancellation. When you call to get this straightened out and have your $270 refunded (allowing for the partial month during which you cancelled and the month that followed) they tell you they have no "notes on the account" stating it was cancelled and you have to call them repeatedly just to speak to somebody who can actually do anything about it. And then they claim not to be able to do anything about it. Do NOT join this fitness center unless you enjoy being misled and stolen from.
