The cleanliness, functionality, and general “vibe” here are subpar at best. The only cleaning that is done is by way of a cordless stick vacuum and hand wiping mirrors. The machines are constantly out of commission because there’s no respect for said equipment but also because there is no routine maintenance or upkeep for said equipment. I mentioned a lack of respect (and implied gym etiquette) but it’s evident when you’re on the covered potion of the basketball court. All of the dumbbells are trashed and anything over 100 lbs is bent. This is due to the members that workout here throwing them around. God only knows what that court looks like beneath the mats. But when you say anything to anyone they get offended and reply with “Mike said I could!” or “Mike doesn’t care why should I?” or the classic say nothing and glare at you for the entirety of both of y’all’s workouts. My wife also signed up for the year on like a joint plan deal said every time she went (which wasn’t often for the reasons mentioned throughout) the sauna in the women’s locker room was never operational. The mens sauna is disgusting and a hazard at best (when functioning). People shaving inside and dumping an absurd amount of water on the coils. While discussing the locker room the toilets aren’t anchored to the floor and two of the three sinks work one scalding hot and one ice cold. During Covid Mike made his stance very clear by not requiring masks by anyone inside but it was confusing when he bought and hung up the flags in all the windows like he was hiding it(?) Would’ve probably been nice to see at least a clean air system in use but again par for the course. At this establishment the walls bleed at the sight of any precipitation leaving the white “sweat stains” beneath all of the windows. If your money isn’t going towards new gym equipment or even upkeep on the current gym equipment and it certainly isn’t going into the building itself. Then where is it going? After the full year’s membership going on average 5-6 days per week for at least a 2 hour minimum I feel confident saying I never saw Mike or his staff doing anything meaningful to address these issues with cleanliness or crummy members.
