Gold's Gym

I am happy with the gym in general during the off peak times. The staff seem better. The sales and referral guys need some training but as I get my membership through my insurance it helps me avoid the nightmares that I hear from others. Some equipment is old and they tend to lock equipment so you can't use it to its full potential. The gym is cleaned daily and during the early morning I don't see any issues with smells.

I signed up for a one-year membership in the summer of 2016. I have been a member to several gyms in the past few years because I am always looking for a better gym. Gold's Gym Fullerton is very nice and, while a little overpriced, might be worth it for some people.My issue is with the customer service. I took advantage of a free trial and signed up shortly after it ended. I decided to cancel because of some complications and did so within the 5-day window for a full refund. I even went in person to confirm the cancellation after speaking to an employee over the phone and he assured me that my membership was cancelled.Unfortunately they continued to bill me but my credit card company credited me for every transaction. Now they are attempting to collect their money through other means and it is very confusing because they confirmed my cancellation over the phone and in person. The employees are very nice but extremely aggressive when it comes to payments. I hope we can resolve it peacefully because the gym itself is not a terrible business if you are a happy member. If you want to join this gym make sure you use a credit card, read the fine print, and receive written copies.

I am mad and incredible disapointed with my membership at Gold's gym. I pay a high monthly fee and on top of that they charge you $39 dollars extra ("yearly fee to maintain facility and buy new equipment ") I should've stay at 24 hrs where they use my monthly payment to mainting the gym and buy new equipmen. This is seriously not right!!!😤😤😤

People complain too much about stupid stuff. There is nothing wrong with this gym. They have any piece of weight lifting equipment you need whether you are a power lifter, body builder or just trying to keep tone or lose weight. There are abundant cardio machines too whether one or two are broken or not. The gym is clean too. No gym is perfect but this one is great.

Purchase a Groupon for 30 days for my hubby. The sales rep told my husband that he needed to get his card info. Going through my bank statement I notice that I was being direct withdraw from the gym. The sales rep Signed him up for and additional 2 months. The thing is we do not live around here and my husband was out there for a month on a job. He has already contacted the gym but has gotten no where with them. This location is a franchise so we will be contacting the owner soon.

I've pretty much worked out at every gym there is out there. I was a member of LA Fitness and 24 Hour fitness. I've worked out at Bodies In Motion, Bally's and some swanky gym in Irvine. Gold's Gym has been one of the nicest gyms I've ever been a member of. Some other high end gyms might be more impressive, but let me outline my favorite attributes of this gym.CLEAN. This place is spotless. Ok.. full disclosure. I workout in the morning. So.. usually, it's emptier and everything is organized for the day. It does get a little crazy around rush hour (5pm-7pm) but that's expected at any gym. You will see the staff wiping down equipment and vacuuming. They always seem to keep things spotless.EQUIPMENT. High end and high quality. Using great equipment is huge when working out. You don't need to question if the equipment will work for you. All the weights are pristine as well as the machines. Love the treadmills with personal flat screens.OUTDOOR POOL/SPA/SAUNA. If you workout in the mornings.. it's like you're own personal SPA day here. I run, hit the weights, jump in the pool, then the hot tub.. and if I still need that extra pampering.. i hit the Sauna. Seriously relaxing.The NEGATIVES: This is a gym.. it's a full functioning business.. without the salesman, they cannot function. Deal with it. I was fortunate enough to join Gold's when they first opened and I locked in a pretty good rate. Every gym needs to sell.. Hopefully you get a great salesman like I had.I can't speak too much on the cardio machines. I hardly use them since I like to mix my cardio up. But from my experience, they work fine and are very clean. TV channels might be suspect, but that shouldn't be your priority when working out. I prefer to listen to music.Customer service has been ok. Can't really critic that since once I'm at the gym.. I don't talk to anybody unless I have to. But everyone has been cool to me.

Pros: Good if you live nearby, but not over 8 miles.This place maintains a good atmosphere. However I can't help but tell you why I cancelled. On a long day when you just want to work out and get out, instead you get trainers and sales guy coming up to you and trying to sell sessions and upgrade. Or when its to crowded to even use the machine no one uses. Then its time to move on. But fortunetly they let me off easy. Maybe because I was grandfather in by TrueFitness Gyms in Placentia. I was paying like $30.00/month. So they were loosing money. I mean most people there pay about $60/month on average.

Been a member for 2 years now. Good place. They're a bit slow fixing broken equipment. Otherwise it is pretty clean and even has a sort of resort like feel. Pool and saunas are excellent. The staff is way better than everywhere else I have been. They are actually fitness people and not tweekers like WoW and elsewhere. No gym is perfect, but this is a solid place, I pay $299 per 15 months, not bad at all if you dont mind paying yearly.

Guys are a little off key in terms of customer service and it takes a while to get things repaired. There are a lot of people that literally park their butts on machines and refuse to move. This might be a cultural thing but it is damn annoying if you have proper gym etiquette. Clean and the staff doesn't bug you except their lame greetings when you come in, but hey that's not the worst thing in the world. I would say the gym is okay and my 25 per month is not bad for what I get.

Horrible experience with the staff. While joining the gym they never told me all the terms and conditions. Didn't give me chance to read them, just rushed me through the process. While leaving the gym they charged me $100. When I said they never told me this, the manager replied " Your fault, you should have read the terms and conditions while signing up" . It feels like the staff very pushy to make us join the gym and take the personal trainer. I went there to try the Groupon coupon but they singed me up for the 12 months commitment package. Manager is not prompt. Not even feeling to give a star.Equipments are broken most of the time. Changing rooms stink.DO NOT JOIN.
