24 hour fitness has such an opportunity to be really really good, but they blow it. Why would a company with this much potential and owning the market in the bay area be so out of touch with their customers and the individual gyms. I can guarantee you that 24 hour management never ever visit their own gyms. If they did they would go join another gym. I have been to a lot of 24 hour finesses around the country. With very very few exceptions these gyms are disgustingly filthy, majority of the equipment is broken, showers and changing rooms are just scary, broken toilets, locker doors falling off hinges, broken sinks. I don't know why but bay area gyms are bottom of the barrel. Anyway, 3 stars for the 24 hour fitness on Whipple, they actually try to do a good job and I appreciate it

No more towel service...shaking my damn head, hope you are charging customers less.24 hour will loose a customer at the end of my 2 year Costco membership, per their decision to discontinue their towel service. I stayed loyal to 24 purely because of the towel service. I will take my business to City Sport, which is the same price and significantly nicer. This location should be considered an “Active Sport” at best, based on the condition of the locker rooms and yellow residue in the showers. Take your business somewhere else and maybe they will reconsider the “Super Sport” classification and/or re-introduce their towel service.Until then It’s been fun. Deuces

Nothing fancy. It does the job of being an all around gym--you can lift weights, do cardio, take classes, play ball, swim, plus the benefits of having a steam room and sauna. Shower area and locker room are not shiny clean, but not outright gross and messy. No-frills gym that does the job.Just take note of peak hours if you do not like waiting for your turn as the gym can get packed. The staff are friendly and helpful. Aside from the usual nods and smiles from people you see regularly, people usually mind their own business which is perfect for self-conscious guys like me.

Locker room is putrid. Stinks! I change in my car. Everything else is clean... which just confuses me...

Too much socializing and wannabe athletes can be a distraction at times. Best times to go are around 6am or midnight.

Came in with my free 3 day trial from their website. They would not let me in without paying $25 for 24 hours.
