City Sports Club, located in Southland Mall, Hayward, CA, offers an impressive variety of equipment and amenities like a sauna and a juice bar. It has a spacious environment that's great for workouts. However, some members have reported issues with cleanliness and broken equipment. Customer service seems inconsistent, with some staff being very helpful while others are inattentive. Security and maintenance, especially concerning stolen items and the gym's overall hygiene, need improvement.
The gym's long hours provide flexibility, but its policy on guest passes and early sign-up times may inconvenience potential members. It's a suitable option if you prioritize equipment variety and location convenience over top-notch customer service and pristine facilities.

“Convenient Yet Missing Key Element”(Almost perfect)I recently explored signing up for City Sports Gym near my residence and was initially excited due to its close proximity. However, the major drawback I discovered is the absence of a boxing bag – a surprising omission for a gym under the sports category.Upon contacting the Hesperian location, I was informed that the next nearest gym with a boxing bag is on Whipple. While the commute to Whipple isn’t an issue, the time-consuming aspect due to traffic is a concern.Despite this setback, the gym is well-equipped with almost everything I need and is incredibly convenient for me. It’s disappointing that such a fundamental component for many fitness enthusiasts is missing, but if that’s not a dealbreaker for you, the gym could still be a viable option.

Great gym, lots of space & different type of equipment. Sauna is pretty beneficial. Only taking away one star because of staffing. Nobody acknowledges your existence when you walk in the door. No "hi" or "have a good workout." Employees are usually eating wingstop or on their phones directly in the front. I'm sure they're nice people, but the lack of hospitality is kind of a bummer for me.

They need to remodel this gym and have better workers for front desk and customer service.

Two thefts in last 15 days. My AirPod stolen from workout area and after asking staff multiple times to see camera no action taken. Sunday 3/12/23, more than 7 ladies lost their phones and wallets from locker room locked lockers. Locks were broken. They let anybody in do not check in guests or see ID. Serious security transformation needed. Plus the place stinks even after complaints multiple times. Update- forgot my clothes in shower. Found them next day.

This gym has gone down hill. I used to love coming here because it was clean and the community was nice. Now it’s trashy. Everything seems to be breaking and staying broken. We can’t even use mats because it’s for classes only. The only mats available are 4 that are ripped. For $40 a month, good mats better be available for all members. With or without classes. Crunch is less than $20 for a basic membership. You can count on machines being fixed the next day and an endless amount of mats. I hope management takes this as positive criticism and starts giving what they charge for.

I joined this gym back when they opened 2015 it’s been good but my issue is now 8 years later they open a gym that is a few blocks from my house so I try to switch the location so they say “No” they wanted me to upgrade to a more expensive membership so I could go to all clubs well I don’t want to go to all clubs so I’ve decided after 8 years of giving you my money to cancel my membership! you don’t care about members.
