I've had a black card for almost 2 years now..I go to the Hoover and Vestavia location a lot..Let me cut to the chase..I only have one problem with the locations I go to..EMPLOYEES..For whatever reason PF employees think it's perfectly fine to scan member's cards while playing with their phone with the other hand without speaking or making eye contact..Its not an isolated incident.Its not one person, its happened several times with different employees. In my opinion they hire people with poor customer service skills. The Hoover location is better now then what it once was, but that's not saying much because when I first joined the Hoover staff couldn't be any worse. Also, I just don't see why you need a manager, trainer, and 3-4 other employees when they do nothing but slack off and talk..If I ran this place I would tell staff to either work or go home..I just can't see how ppl are paid a wage to just literally stand behind a counter and talk with their co workers most of the time.

The gym is great for lifting and cardio. The hoover location, though always seems they are lacking in the cleaning department. It is humid in the main room and the restrooms are never as clean as the ones on 280. However, the 280 planet fitness, as far as I have seen is always cleaner.

I've been a member here for 2+ years. Staff always welcomes you upon arriving. The bathrooms are cleaned regularly. Other gym goers are courteous and often helpful. Highly recommend!

Love it! PF in Hoover has gone beyond my expectations! The front desk people are welcoming and approachable! I like that I feel confident in what to do to meet my fitness goals! I’m so thankful for the personal trainers and the knowledge and time they give to help you achieve your goals! This is a place I want to go to and I don’t dread working out!! Awesome job!! 😃👍🏽

This is my favorite planet fitness location in the Birmingham area. Worth the extra few minutes. For those who don't like it being busy at the gym, it quiets down around 9 pm. Also love the little nook they have for stress and ball workouts.

Upon first joining planet fitness I was excited, I loved the gym, and the staff was great. Well, now that I live in another state, and am no longer in contract, I want to cancel-which you must do in person (at your home gym) or by mail. So, I sent in a letter. But it wasn't certified mail and they "have no record" of it being there. Corporate is a joke and there are millions of complaints about contract issues, know what you're getting into.

Very Welcoming atmosphere without intimidation. I joined Sept of 2016 and I felt like I fit from day one, the hours are pretty good but I wish they stayed open a little later on weekends at least until 9 pm.

Great Gym! Lots of space, different kinds of workout equipment. Lockers and bathrooms excellent. Staff super friendly. Great price too, just all around makes going to the gym an easy experience.

I've been a member for a year and have always enjoyed every visit. If any equipment is broken they usually fix it within two weeks.My only complaint would be some of the awesome employees they had when I became a member are no longer there! Often there seems to be issues with plumbing in the womens locker room as well; important things like a loose or leaking toilet are patched up instead of replaced.

The PF TV is the worst thing to happen to this gym. I can take the terrible music playing on it but the adds are unbearable. They play the same "Stories of Triumph" over and over everyday and it amounts to nothing more than advertisement for Planet Fitness which is odd because the people that are being advertised to already have the gym memberships. If you were to poll the customers I am willing to wager that the majority of them would rather have ESPN or similar on the TV that most members see.The staff is fantastic however and I enjoy talking to each of them. They are courteous and very helpful.The new showers still get cold though.I will continue going, but this gym is more for people who want to say they have a gym membership more than anything else.
