The workout machines aren't exactly designed to get you into shape. At best, they serve as a way to burn calories or fat. Ending a contract is impossible, no matter how easy the employees say it is. Don't waste your money here when you can work out at home.

I think that the employees of this location are more easy going and talkative than other locations I've visited. I also like the flow of the gym. Each piece of equipment makes sense next to one another.I do wish these gyms, as a whole, were more focused on health and/or body transformations. Giving out bagels, pizza, and candy at a gym seems counterproductive. So this place is a good starter gym I'd say.

I am a disabled veteran that was totally misled by staff at location in independence, Missouri. I signed up online and the price was 20.00 plus 1.00 for joining. When I went in to the location, I sat down with a staff member and they told me that for January, 2017, price was prorated to 8.29 and next month I will be billed 20.00 plus tax. Now, I joined on 9 January, 2017 and 8 days later I was billed another 21.88. Not next month but 8 days later. I was lied to by staff stating that I would be billed in February, 2017 for 20.00 plus tax yet 8 days later I was billed that amount. I am on limited income and if I had known that, I would have waited until this week to join. It is staff that I am sure are wanting a commission not to disclose information especially when I asked when I would be billed and they state next month and every month from that moment for 24 month commitment and of course that did not happen. Corporate America wins again taking advantage of disabled that has mental disabilities and physically disabilities from the military as I am a disabled veteran that gets taken advantage of. WOW, trust is not for companies such as this. I will be contacting my attorney as well as the local news paper on this and will not be providing favorable rating for this location. I even spoke with manager and general manager and was not even given an apology....How's that for business relationships with customer...

This may sound silly but, working out has become my new therapy. Perhaps because of the outstanding equipment, positive atmosphere, or the always helpful and courteous staff members. No, I think it is all the above. Overall, a definite five out of five! :)

Due to uncontrollable circumstance I needed to cancel my membership. I called and the guy said sure no problem we will cancel your account. Six months later they are still charging my bank account, problem is I don't keep much in this account and it has created a lot of overdraft fees. I called the store and this person told me I had to write a letter to cancel, crazy. Anyway I sent the letter in April, I got a call from them confirming they received my letter. So why are they still charging my bank account? I called on 6/3, Friday and spoke with Jamie, manager, he said he would need to research it and call me back on Monday the 6th. Well needless to say he hasn't called. I have left several messages for him to call but nothing. They hit my bank account again yesterday even after I cancelled my account in October and a follow up cancellation in April. Will this every stop...BEWARE OF THESE GUYS.

User Reviews 20JunPosted by customeron 6/20/16 at 6:09PMbeen having problems with the planet fitness I have been going to in conroe tx..been going for 7 months I haven't been able to speak to a manager or someone from corporate..they tell me they can't give me no number no information I just have to wait for a manager.wow and I have to pay a cancellation fee for there bad service and lack of knowledge..wow..20JunPosted by M.B. From Hillsborough, NJon 6/20/16 at 2:24PMWARNING!!! After being a member for a few years, I had a knee injury and wanted to put my membership on hold. I was told I could not without a letter from the doctor who was performing the surgery on my knee the following week. They said I only had two days to get this or I would be charged for the next month. When I asked if I could have my doctor fax it to them, they said they didn't have a fax machine. So I said I would have to cancel and rejoin when my knee healed. They then told me it would cost me $31 to join again. I said I would do that when I was able to resume the use of the gym.A week later, I get my bank statement and see that I was charged the $31 for the annual renewal. Neither the Hillsborough, NJ store owner nor the corporate office would credit me for the annual membership which I had already cancelled!!!The individual owner said they didn't have the right to credit me and corporate told me it was up to the individual owner. TOTALLY UNFAIR AND VERY BAD BUSINESS POLICY!!!17JunPosted by Anonymouson 6/17/16 at 8:00AMAside from Fraudulent practices - I highly recommend that you do NOT give Planet Fitness access to your bank account - they will continue to debit your account long after you stop your membership AND THEY DO NOT REFUND.Your next steps are to file a complaint with your bank, with the BBB, and then file a small claims. Unbelievable.16JunPosted by Anonymouson 6/16/16 at 3:44PMThe Gulfport ms manager kyania so so racist and unhelpful. She offset my black fiance member just because his money isn't going to be in there but I'm white and I cancelled a member ship that I didn't know I had until they took 59 dollars out of my account and She claims she can't offset my 10 fee that was due the same day as his because it's already processing. No it's because I'm white and you don't like white people. This is why I'd never have a memebership here prime example. I am going to corporate with it because this is not right. I am not happy and don't feel I was treated fairly.15JunPosted by Anonymouson 6/15/16 at 11:27AMCustomer service is offer. The manager or supervisor is very rude and very unprofessional. She shouldn't be in management field if she's not a people person. Her attitude sucks.

I like this gym but the old staff 6 months ago or so was more friendly. I walk in now, no one speaks, I walk out no one speaks. A girl named Sarah working today was a prime example of this issue for me. I was leaving and she just looked at me. I said "have a good day" and she said "you too" but not in a friendly way. Mind you she didn't speak when I walked in. This set of staff isn't very friendly. I've been a loyal member for a while now and one thing I loved was the warm friendliness from the staff. That's no longer available. Hope it changes. Also, I think wiping things off after use needs to be more enforced.

It is not $10 month. It's MORE THAN DOUBLE that.--- $21.31 per month --- is what you can expect to pay your first year if you signed up for a "only $10 a month" plan like me.That figure comes from a $29 startup fee, a $31.46 annual fee, and $16.27 in monthly post-surcharge, post-tax dues. You can only auto-pay by checking account which makes refunds from your bank nearly impossible. Even worse, the contract states that to cancel "the club requires written notification" "via certified mail."On the plus side, I do like the facility and amenities, and I won't be cancelling yet. But their billing and advertising practices have left such a sour taste in my mouth that I won't recommend the gym to my friends (and hundreds of other negative reviews online agree with me)

I really like thus gym alot. There is no contract on the $10 a month plan but there is on the $20 a month plan. But you do get more with the $20 plan but nothing I'm interested in. But nice clean facility. I'd recommend to anyone. It really is a good deal.

It's an okay fitness place. there are many different machines to use but no pull up bar. I've been to community gyms with several variations to the pull up bar and they weren't too low for me, seeing as I'm 6'4". A few machines are worth working out on if you're in decent shape. the rest are just there to make you think it's a workout. if you are a beginner, the entire place will be wonderful for you because no matter what a beginner does, you will see results. The $10 Membership is best if you don't want to try all the extra perks. plus there's no penalty or one year contract. the only thing is if you move, you have to sign up for the next gym.
