What's the point of buying a day pass if you can't use everything the place offers? I dont reccomend this gym at all.

Tried signing up online and stopping in to see the facility but was denied access because of midday cleaning (2-3pm). Didn’t feel very helpful or welcoming to me at all”” Two thumbs down 👎🏽 👎🏽 …

DO NOT sign up with Golds Gym unless you want to be locked into a contract. The rep I signed up with told me it was easy to cancel during the contract period. They work with a third party company that handles cancellations and they are incredibly hard to get a hold of.

I was a member at Gold's for 3 years and there are many pros and cons, but mainly cons...PROs:-Great selection of equipment and cardio space! They are well placed among all 5 floors. My favorite was the cardio cinema because I work out early in the morning before work and it's nice to run in the dark.-The locker room has a nice layout and plenty of space and more private areas so you aren't all exposed.-Good selection of protein bars, smoothies, and apparel.-Good selection of fitness classes at good time slots.CONs:-There were quite a few times where I showed up and no one arrived to work and the front desk was gated off. They open at 4:30 AM on weekdays and I always arrived between 4:45-5 AM and still no one present. So I couldn't get a towel but luckily the whole gym isn't gated off so I could still access the stairwell to the locker room and gym, but you would hope that someone is working for security reasons because anyone can walk in without swiping their card.-The parking situation is very frustrating. There are two options of parking garages depending on the day/time, so you had to keep track of which one to park at. I wish the only option was to use just the garage on Water St considering the one on Mason (which I used 95% of the time) is extremely sketchy and very difficult to maneuver through. If you have a long car or a large SUV, you're better off finding street parking a couple of blocks away.-Canceling your membership is beyond painful. You have to email Taft Services (a 3rd party) just to be left in the dark with no responses. After numerous attempts to follow up with Taft, I called Gold's to understand the status of my cancellation and they said it takes 30 days to process, which they failed to tell me from the start. So I went to the gym one last time for a workout and approached the front desk asking about my cancellation status to which they said they can't access that info, meanwhile a manager at one of the back desks overheard my frustration and called me over for my info to look up in the system. She was able to give me the date that my membership will be terminated, but she did not seem pleased to help me with my troubles. So I ended up getting stuck with an extra month of payments. I believe this process applies to all Gold's through corporate, but you would think that corporate would use a 3rd party that comes with excellent customer service where they respond to your email with a date of the last day of your membership just so you feel better knowing that they received the request and that it is pending/processing...-The gym is not clean or well kept whatsoever. The disinfecting wipes were empty most of the time (which you would think if I come in right when the gym opens in the morning, that some one would check and refill all those stations either when they close or right when they open). The soap dispensers were empty in the locker room for weeks! Toilet paper all over the locker room bathroom stalls that would be there for days. There are dust bunnies and dirty old equipment hidden in some corners.NEUTRAL:-The wifi used to be terrible to the point you couldn't even connect, and there is barely to no cell service, so if you stream your music it kinda ruined the vibe. But they eventually upgraded the wifi and it works well now! Although, they have a 2 hour time limit on it. So if you plan on doing a long workout, or utilizing most amenities that will take up lots of time (tanning, showering, back-to-back classes, etc.), or even just in the area and not at the gym but you are still connected, just ensure you disconnect from the wifi.OVERALL, I stuck with this gym because I liked the location while I was living in downtown and the overall layout of the space worked very well with my routine. I achieved a lot of goals at this gym and I appreciate the ability to utilize this facility. But now that I moved to Tosa, I'm glad I left and joined a WAC and now wish I tried the WAC in downtown so I could have made the switch.

PLEASE READ THIS CAREFULLY. Do not I repeat do not engage in a “monthly/annual” agreement with Golds Gym. They find ways to charge you and will continue charging your account after you have given them a written notification to stop payments and cancel an account especially when you have valid reasons such as moving out of the country. I received confirmation from the manager that my membership was cancelled after sending him a written notification to cancel my “monthly” no-contract membership. Next thing I know a few months later my account is being charged for months of “no-payment” on the account with late fees. After a month of disputing these charges with a very very very unprofessional 3rd party, I contacted the manager directly whom I sent my written notice too and he agreed with the dispute and he made a reimbursement to my account for mostly all of the fees charged. The manager also confirmed in writing to me that I should not have anything else to worry about my “non-existing membership” at Golds Gym. Who would have thought that 5 months later I would be receiving debt collecting phone calls trying to collect a debt for a agreement that “I signed” 90 days ago at Golds Gym. ??? I have not step foot in a Golds Gym let alone I cancelled my “no-contract monthly” membership back in May 2019?!?!? My mind is blown. Very unprofessional workers who do not know how to enter information into their system correctly and leaving a bad reputation in which previous customers have to pay for their wrong doings. I would understand a phone call stating there was a misunderstanding but to actually have a customer deal with the stress of having to clear a debt and reimbursement for what was done wrong in the employee side of the company. And to deal with unnecessary phone calls that harass you for a “debt” is not acceptable. Especially going out of your way and spend a lot of time to dispute it, is ridiculous. WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! Would not recommend Golds Gym to anyone. I would say request guest passes but DO NOT ever give them your banking information.

thank you Golds Gym for charging a membership fee when your gym is closed. Hope you are using the money to clean your filthy broken machines. Just read the reviews, you will see a recurring theme here. Very dirty. I have been a member for 4 years and have mentioned this in several surveys and still no change. They just don't care. And now, charging a membership fee when I can't access the gym. Speaks volumes about management.

This used to be my go to gym. However lately it’s gone down hill. Issues include overall cleanliness, run down machines, and New Management not paying attention to anything on feed back from clients. This needs to change.
