I am trying to find a review similar to mine but don't see it, maybe If you feel identified with my review put a like just to see if I am not the only one thinking this way. I went with my sister (both beginners), it's the first time for my sister, I already went to different ones in Puerto Rico. So, since entering I was already feeling so many bad vibes, specifically from women, obviously not all of them. You know? It's very nice when you enter inside a gym and everyone is focused on their own lives and don't care about anyone, just their workouts...hehehe but...this was not the case, I saw so many of these girls looking mad at us...I was thinking "Ok, maybe it's just me"...but the 2nd day my sister told me the exact same thing, I was like "Yeeessss, right???" And she said that they are probably insecure...but I don't know, a lot of them were fit, others were chubby, so I don't know what it is, if it's our clothing, fitness level, race, maybe they see us as invaders hahaha I don't know... It's just very uncomfortable to see so many girls judging you with their eyes, also sad...and if I had a Resting B***h face I would probably understand, but no, I am a very smiley and happy person, I am kind, so...it was very disappointing. The stars are only because of the cinema, the only place we could hide from that judging faces and just distract ourselves with a movie :(

My first time here and it was a horrible experience. I’ve never experienced this level of discomfort and disappointment at any other gym. Allie, sales manager, didn’t help at all unfortunately. I understand that there’s policies and things in place but when a customer asks a question your job as a sales manager is to answer in a way that makes the customers understand why things are being done the way they are instead of a vague answer like “yeah that’s just our policy” and when I ask what is the policy have no idea of what the policy is? As a person who works in at a place that is regulated by the state my job is to explain to people why our company has to to certain things to take worries out of customers heads. Especially if you are keeping my ID something that is valuable for me and important and not have the time to explain why this is done? I would respectfully request that I get refunded my money back since I didn’t get to do anything because of this unfortunate experience and for my friend to get his membership canceled since he’s not going to be visiting again.

UPDATED REVIEW: I cannot believe that I have to write another review. I have been trying to cancel my gym membership with the Edge for two months now. I was instructed to come back until May to be able to cancel it. So I came yesterday and tried cancelling it. But, not surprisingly, I was told that I can't cancel my gym membership in person. So, I was instructed that I need to send an email, and then call the following day to cancel. I tried cancelling before May so that I would not get charged the annual fee, but yet, I wake up today with a $69 charge on my account. That means after I get charged for $42 (because now the monthly payment has gone up), The Edge will have charged me more than $100 before I could cancel my membership. I am getting very annoyed, but I listened to the employee and I sent an email to customer service. I will provide an update with the upcoming events that will occur.Old review: I am a founding member of this gym in West Hartford, CT and as long as you are a basic member, this is a very practical gym to go to. However, do NOT get a personal trainer at this location. You will be given workouts that might require you to use equipment that you can only get from the personal training area, and if you dare ask to take anything, you will not get it. Ever since I have gotten a personal trainer, I have been denied access to some equipment and it's pretty frustrating when you pay 250+/month to not being able to complete your workouts. This past Friday, between 3-5 pm, was the last straw for me. I decided to choose one of the workouts on my personal training app where I would need to use the traditional trap bar for deadlifts, a piece of equipment that is only accessible in the personal training area. There was absolutely no personal training being done, just one staff member working out in the personal training area, and this person was not even using the trap bar. I went up to the front desk, asked both the sales rep and the front desk if I could use the trap bar, but was quickly shot down without even being listened to. I even had my personal training app opened on my phone, just in case they didn't want to do the extra work to look up my account. I am only writing this because this has happened to me far too many times, and every time I talk about it with my trainer, I am told I can use the equipment as long as nobody is using it and it is something that is not found in the regular area. This is a pretty frustrating inconsistency, so say goodbye to a personal training client.

The edge fitness is a great gym all around. It’s a very nice environment with very nice staff. I recommend this gym for anyone and everyone. Good prices, good equipment, it’s everything you can ask for in a gym.

Love it. I wish i had the money to really have one the coaches train me, but can't afford the $250-$350. They charge. I guess is worth it, but I personally can't afford it. So I guess I'll have to work out on my own. Thank you anyways for having me be part of the gym.

Great place, great environment, plenty of room, equipment is well maintained, staff is nice and helpful. I only rated it 4 stars because sometimes the music can get a little loud, but I could be turning into a cranky old man, but I do recommend getting a membership here. I'm glad I did.

Cancelling my membership has proven to require quite a lot of effort. The front desk employees here are great and they are just following policy, but the company has it set up in a way where they are trying to capture a final payment of the membership instead of focusing on building a positive relationship so that people sign up with them again in the future.I would have returned to the gym after my internship ended if I had a good experience with the cancellation, but this has left me with a bad taste in my mouth and I would rather go to a different gym.During my free physical training meeting when I first signed up they matched me with a trainer who told me that "If he could have me eating less than 1000kcal/day he would" and that if I work hard in the gym I could "earn my calories". That was after I told him that my main goals were long term health, not weight loss, and that I had already lost 40lbs without a trainer and was feeling good with my weight loss.I had looked past this initial consultation and used their facilities without a trainer, but now with the experience I have had trying to cancel I wanted to include this experience in my review as well.

If I could put zero stars I would. I’ve been going to the edge since they opened up a location in December few years back. I use to love the edge. I moved away for a few years and returned back & hate it now. Some staff is rude. Childcare is horrible their workers don’t watch the children. It’s always so crowded, it’s hard to get a good workout in even at 6am. I’m really disappointed in this gym. Being a trainer myself I had high expectations & sadden that I have to cancel my membership & find somewhere else to join.
