Edit: reducing two stars after a year here, for the last few months it is ALWAYS packed. Simply too busy to make it a decent workout. Also, the jacuzzi is disgusting, it should be a policy for people to shower first before jumping in. To management: good to have new or more members come in, but you should also consider the experience. What a nice gym!Outside & inside pool, great set up of the equipment in the main fitness area.Steam cabin and sauna in the locker rooms and sauna cabins outside with a great view.It felt more like a spa day instead a regular Monday morning workout.

Everything in the reviews is true: beautiful facility, great location, front desk in need of customer service training (they act like bouncers at a night club that is falling out of popularity), and as of now way, way, way too many members. Not sure if COVID rebound just caught them by surprise, but feels like they need to raise prices significantly to naturally cull membership. I'm amazed people tolerate it the way they do. Literally you can't even work out, other than maybe treadmill, at anything approximating prime time (evenings, weekend afternoons) as 100% of weight room equipment will be occupied, with people standing around waiting (literally forming an informal queue to use things like racks and benches). I've worked out in gyms all over the country and city and only recall experiencing one other gym even as close to as crowded as this one, a 24 Hour Fitness in California. The concept of someone trying to do some form of circuit training at this gym is actually comical... If you walk 15 feet from the bench to even change dumbbells, someone will be in your seat when you get back.Locker rooms are likewise completely full, and feel like a high school cafeteria at lunch time. Just way, way too many people. An introvert's nightmare, as well as anyone trying to meditate without talking to 10 people to negotiate equipment usage, and stay on a reasonable workout schedule.Really sad, as I live close by, and would love to be a member here given the convenience and physical quality of the facilities. I would gladly pay a much higher price to actually have access to a gym, but as it stands, it's too expensive to be what it is, and not expensive enough to be what it should be.

I absolutely love this gym! Location is great with spectacular views of the Hudson River. The equipment, personal training and private Pilates are amazing. We have an outdoor pool, indoor pool, Jacuzzi and so much more. And Equinox uses Kiehl's products.Expensive, but worth every penny!

I own a small biz so this seemed best with my travel and moving around the city but destination is not worth it. Extremely busy, trainers take 2-3 machines at a time w clients at the busiest times, impossible to get into a yoga class, pool wait can be hours, and their travel/freeze policy is exactly the opposite of what you'd think a "destination" plan is. If you have hours to wait on machines, classes, the pool or you want to pay for two gyms while you travel then go for it. I switched to Dogpound, if I am going to pay crazy money at least it feels worth it.

Love that there are two swimming pools, and the entire facility is exceptionally clean. Spa is great too. Unfortunately, -2 Stars because of personal trainer Greg G, who is condescending and racist, and honestly not motivating at all. I felt better working out alone.

A literal joke. Long time destination member here who has never really been impressed, just unfortunately always in a neighborhood where EQX is convenient. They charge $300 for a destination membership but when they don't have destinations (no locations outside US, don't cover all major metros in US) they won't let you freeze without a fee. To boot, if you have a corporate rate like me (I get $10 off my membership 🙄 I'm so lucky) then you can't freeze it at all. It's 2023, people work remote and travel for extended periods of time especially the people you attract with a "destination" multi location membership. Trying to lock people in or nickel & dime them when you literally have no gyms to offer is just poor. If you need the coin that badly revisit your operational model.

I’ve been an equinox member in NYC since 2011. This particular “destination location” does not live up to its name or price tag. 😒 The check-in staff are obnoxious; the locker rooms are always dirty; the private sessions in the pool are …

If you actually want to work out this is not the place to do it. You’re constantly fighting over equipment and space with hotel goers. Also children are regularly in the sauna and the pool. It’s the most expensive equinox and it really misses the mark.

After about 6 months I got fed up and cancelled my membership. This gym is extremely overcrowded (see pictures below taken at 7:30am on a Tuesday) and there isn’t enough equipment for everyone. I often have to change my workout routine because the squat rack or the bench press are busy. The views and the amenities are the only thing it has going for it but they really need to make the space bigger or find another way to make it less crowded because as it stands it’s absolutely not worth $300 per month.
