Very happy I joined 3 weeks ago. It is very clean the staff is great. Lots of brand new machines, members are very respectful of space.

Very amiable staff, clean and lots and lots of equipment and space albeit a bit aged, not a problem if you're into old school gyms tho!

Great place to work out. They're constantly cleaning the place & they have disinfectant everywhere so clients can wipe down equipment. Friendly, helpful staff. Great personal trainers. Great hours.

I don’t like the place inside. They have old women’s changing rooms, with wallpapers literally falling off the wall, and some machines are very old.Yet I like the variety of equipment and people who work there are super nice. So 3 stars only for that.

I was charged in April (like thousands of others) after they were closed due to COVID. There was no one at this location or corporate to answer questions, and I was informed by the website and email that my account would be put on hold until they reopened, and there was nothing I could do to get my money back or cancel my membership until then.Well, guess what. They've reopened. I didn't get an e-mail or phone call letting me know. Instead, I got a charge on my credit card for September dues. Now I'm trying to get in touch with them to 1) get a refund and 2) cancel my membership. I was told by the woman answering the phone that they aren't taking phone calls because they're overloaded, and that I'd have to send an e-mail or visit in person, but that an e-mail will take a lot longer. The reason I'm not using the gym is because I don't think it's safe doing so yet, and I also don't live within 50 miles of it any more. So no, I'm not going to visit in person. The headquarters number is a prerecorded message saying they're not taking phone calls and to contact your local club with issues. So yeah. Really bucking the trend of gyms being an absolute nightmare to deal with. Guess I'll call my bank.Look, all I want is my money back and to not feel like they're doing everything they can to avoid their members. I would appreciate a prompt response. I get that businesses haven't had it easy through all this either etc etc., but this is bananas. In case anyone is interested, the law firm that filed a class action suit against them for this nonsense back in April is Wigdor Law. They're on 5th.UPDATE: 10/6I emailed the address below: heretohelp on Sep 26. I was told the emailed was cc’d to someone who would help me, and I haven’t heard anything since despite sending two more emails. NYSC has since charged me another $69.99.

Nice gym. Weight areas are a little cramped. Good amount of cardio equipment and sufficient cleaning supplies to wipe down machines but not efficiently socially distanced.

Such a nice response from the staff so let me provide more context for my high rating. I am not a gym person and want to be. This gym provided me with a 5 day free trial that truly helped me build confidence and clarity on how I could use the gym in a realistic way. I am choosing to start with group classes and this longer trial helped me find connection and try several classes to get me excited. I so admire all of the disciplined gym go-ers, I hope to be one of those one day but have a ways to go. Thanks NYSC for helping me find my home at this gym based on my needs.

I asked my membership to be suspended until my office in Manhattan is opened. This gym resumed my membership in February without telling me. Used $200 of credits I had on my account for mistakenly charging me in 2020 when the gym was closed and then charging me for March and April 2021. The lady on the phone said she can not help me and it's not their problem. I asked to talk to the manager as treating members who were with you for 8+ years this way is not good. I never got a call back.

This is my favorite location of NYSC both for fun, motivation, and cleanliness. I have visited many of the NYSC in the city and can say this location has the best cleaning staff which means the place is spotless. Yes it has had air conditioning problems but it has been replaced this summer and works fine. The classes and instructors are the best, teaching for fun and safety always.

I can't say enough good things about customer service from the manager, Nick. After a billing issue he was more than happy to meet and find a mutually agreeable solution — talking with him was anything but the stereotypical pulling-teeth customer experience at most gyms. Highly recommended.
