Chestnut Hill location is surprisingly bad. The hot tub etc. has been closed for a month which was a major attraction and kinda why I paid so much for a small gym. Framingham and Burlington are great, I would definitely recommend chosing those locations.

I no longer went to the gym. i called in to cancel my membership, they said they would put it on hold for now and mail out something for me. Never got anything in the mail. 3 months later, they activated my membership and started to charge me for membership fee. The debit card on file was lost and they could not charge. Now they forced me to pay for membership of a gym that i have not been going to for 4 months. I received all kinds of threats from the account manager.I will never never recommend this gym to anyone. Will file a complaint to Better Business Bureau today.

Deceptive membership and cancellation policies. Two month delay in opening Burlington gym so could not use before going away for the summer. Charged me full price for 3 months without apology. Put me on hold but I want out. Can't go on line; must write letter or go to the gym I've never been to!!! Shame on me for not reading these reviews😿😿😿😿

I was very disappointed with Lifetime. I joined and once they got my $$ everything changed including monthly charges. Everytime I go there is something wrong wether my trainer has canceled or late or not getting back to me. Also there is not a trainer on floor to help especially if anyone is in trouble or something happens. I was told all the trainers are with private clients again more $$ for company. I would think this is illegal to not have someone supervising on floor. I paid extra for private group training and we are in a tiny area cause the other group takes over most the area and plays loud music so we can't hear anything and not able to use rowers etc cause other class using them. They always run out of mats etc. Also I was told there would never be more than 6 to a class and it's always more than 8 if not more. I showed up to take a yoga class and once I arrive it has been changed last minute to a completely different class. Again everytime I go I am disappointed it is always something. Again upon joining I was told that if I didn't like it I could cancel no problem no questions asked the management would work with me or give my money back. Come to find out cause I cancelled the other day cause I've had it after being a member for a month they tell me I need to give 1 mtg notice no $$ back. You are charged for anything extra besides your gym membership wether it is a complimentary session etc they charge you. They are always looking for more money and very aggressive in selling you more things. I am extremely disappointed and they were not honest. Please think before you join it is very shady. It's a lot of $$ and not worth the money at all. If you have money to throw away go for it but I don't and if I did I would want a gym that stands by what they say and you get your moneys worth. If this didn't make me do 1 star I would do no star!

This is not a review of the place, but of the service and policies. My friend and I wanted a membership. She got one for $129 a month, and I was quoted $169. The reason we were told is that she is under 30 years old and I am over 30.When I asked why they would make such a distinction, I was told that they assume most people under 30 in Boston are students, and make less money than people over 30.I was SHOCKED by that response. They are giving a discount just because of some random misguided assumption based on age, that has very little to do with reality. If they were really concerned about discount to people making less money, they would give student discounts, or income-based discounts. But sounds like they are trying to attract very specific type of people to the club and they assume someone who is 29 automatically fits that description and someone who is 31 does not.Honestly that is just pure age discrimination. When I emailed the management staff to bring it to their attention, they did not bother replying.

While it is on the pricey side, you cannot argue that Life Time does not have the finest facilities of any of the gyms in the area. The guest policy is a bit wonky but other than that, I have no complaints. Great class offerings, helpful staff and super clean facilities.

Lifetime has been an absolute NIGHTMARE. This is quite possibly the worst gym I have ever been a part of - worse than Planet Fitness, worse than Gym It, worse than Boston Sports Club, I cannot stress how shady their whole operation is.As far as the actual equipment goes, sure it works well, and the facilities are clean and not too crowded. But the people that work here are absolutely vampires! As if their incredibly exorbitant membership fees aren't enough, every twist and turn is them trying to sell you on some product or service that is 10x what you would expect to pay anywhere else. Their complimentary "fitness" session is garbage - it's a pre-written speech on why you should pony up an additional $400 a week for private training. These people know NOTHING - i repeat, NOTHING - about nutrition. They try to sell you antiquated, disproven methods then charge you hidden fees that are not disclosed at any point (I opted for the month to month plan as opposed to the year long commitment - yet I was still billed a cancellation fee that I only saw when I checked my credit card detail). The general manager Mike - he is an absolute liar and will tell you anything to get you to sign up. He does not know his numbers and his sob story is completely made up.If you're itching to drop an exorbitant amount of money on a gym, find someplace else because these people will lie, rob, and steal every last penny from you. Beware!

Incredible place! Every weight and cardio machine you could wish for! Staff very warm, kind and friendly. Classes also excellent, and lots to choose from. They have a Spa too, so you can have a massage, hair and nails all in one building with free parking! I believe the kids club is really good, so you can also have your kids safely looked after while you work out. Oh and the restaurant is also good! Members of Chestnut Hill can also go to Framingham, Westwood and any other Lifetime, where they have outdoor pools.
