Located at 15 Gorham St, Allston, MA, New York Sports Club offers a spacious gym with various equipment and facilities, including a large weight room, cardio machines, squash courts, and more. The gym has a welcoming atmosphere, appealing to young professionals and older adults alike, with an inviting loft-style setup featuring exposed brick, tall ceilings, and natural light. You can get a good workout here, if you get there before peak hours. It's in desperate need of another lat pulldown station, a glute ham raise, and a lying leg curl machine. Also, no one puts their weights away so if that annoys you, this isn't the place for you.

3 okay years, then bankruptcy and 1 Horrible at customer service —- be careful with signing memberships as they are impossible to cancel and just keeps automatically billing. They have denied cancellation for 3 months and sent my case to collections which is now adversely affecting my credit as they scrambled to avoid responsibility. Just read about them on BBB!

Overall:A highly functional gym, which, with some changes and updates, has the potential be a fantastic gym.The Good:This is a reasonably-priced gym with good hours (opens at 6AM on weekdays), great covered parking right in front. The footprint is large - there's a spacious weight room, another large room with a mix of cardio and weight machines, a third, open space with artificial grass used mostly for stretching, ab-work, etc, and then squash courts. The space is inviting and airy - loft style, exposed brick, tall ceilings, and some natural light are all great. It feels as though there is a sufficient supply of equipment such that even when it's busy, I don't have to wait more than a few minutes for something and can usually just switch to a different exercise while I wait. The locker rooms have a sauna, changing area, and showers. The crowd skews towards what I guess are young professionals - 20's and 30's, but there's a mix of older people there too. As a fairly novice gym-goer, although there are some pretty serious folks there, it's not an overly intimidating environment. The grunting and mirror selfies are fairly rare - most people seem pretty focused on getting their workout in and moving on with their day, which I love. People usually wipe down their equipment, and it's a generally pleasant environment. The Bad:The equipment - basically everything other than the grassy room - is outdated and needs to be replaced. There's not a single elliptical that is not damaged in some way. From missing plastic frames on the water bottle holder or screen, to non-functional mounted TV's, to frames that are falling apart, it's a mess. Today the elliptical I was on was clicking so loudly I thought the machine might just implode. So too, many of the weight machines are peeling, felt is falling out. The benches and machines creak in pain when you try to adjust seat heights or angles. The sauna's wood is cracking and splintering, there are no hooks left outside the sauna. The showers are generally average to gross in terms of hygiene.I'm not a diva and at the end of the day, I continue to workout here - it gets the job done. But given the volume of activity this place gets, it's well overdue for an upgrade, and if it got one, it would truly be a phenomenal gym.

Great gym. Good equipment and very fair prices (student discounts go crazy!)They replaced the basketball court with another weight room with much needed equipment, and, as an avid basketball fan, I think it was a necessary sacrifice.Biggest gripe is the inconsistent parking situation, but it's right next to comm ave so there are options. There's usually plenty of time and space after the post - work rush from 4:30-6pm.Update: THEY EXTENDED HOURS TO 10PM CLOSING ON WEEKDAYS!Update #2 - 6/28/23I have to add another update due to the recent renovations. The former basketball court has been completely removed and replaced with a big turf-like area that is good for free weights, calisthenics, and stretching.Unfortunately, I will also have to downgrade them to 4 stars for the following reasons:No more hamstring curl machine (lying or seated)Wipes for the machines have been frequently out of stock and not replaced. It is very common to not have soap or hand towels in the locker rooms. There is only one water fountain in the entire gym area.Lastly, my girlfriend downgraded her membership from all Boston locations to just this one, and she was forced to pay another intiation fee and basically double pay for a month.Update #3 - 07/18/23Unfortunately, i will have to further downgrade my review to 3 stars. The wipes have continued to be rarely replaced, resulting in much of the gym equipment not being wiped down.Additionally, the ONE water fountain in the gym area is basically defunct, so the only options are going all the way back to the locker room to half fill your bottle with the sputtering water fountain OR purchase their water.I am still a fan of the layout and the overall community at NYC Sports Club Allston, but i cannot approve of such lackadaisical management of the gym.

I noticed high quality of customer service. Front desk employees welcome everyone with a kind smile. All employees are always ready to assist. Today I met with SZ KHAN the son of law of Pakistan legend squash player QAMAR ZAMAN KHAN. SZKHAN is one of top squash player. BSC should benefit from his talent to coach young sqash player in the area. Keep it up BSC
