This place has got its pros and cons. I will probably only scratch the surface, since I don't use a lot at the gym, only the elliptical and the lap pool but I do have a lot to say about my experiences in these areas.Since the pool is part of my routine, my choice of gyms is limited. I live in Pasadena and normally would go to the one out there but since I took a job in Covina, the traffic when I get close to the Lake Ave exit is always really congested and the parking situation there can get pretty gnarly, particularly during peak time, when the 9-5'ers like myself leave work. So, I came upon this one when looking for one on the way between home and the office. So as far as the elliptical, I was surprised by how many machines they have. This negates the possibility of anyone having to wait to get their cardio in. The machines are also new and for the most part they keep them clean. My only complaint is, on the workout floor, they blast their own music. Normally, it's ok to have something on in the background but they play it so loud that it steps on the music I'm playing in my headphones and I have to turn up mine that much louder to drown it out.Next is the locker rooms. Obviously, I haven't been in the women's locker room but as far as the men's, it's about standard. I don't really find myself having to fight for a locker or space to change, which is a nice surprise, considering my schedule forces me to be there during the busiest times. I haven't used the showers here yet but the bathroom part is kept in working order and for the most part clean.Now., for the pool. The biggest problem is not with the pool itself but the people in it. Never have I seen such disorganization and disregard for etiquette before and that's saying a lot, since I used to go to the 24 in Hollywood. They have 3 lanes for swimming laps. When I was there earlier this week, one lap was completely taken up by people who were wading with the floating noodles and other people just standing in the lane talking, negating the possibility for anyone to swim laps. In the other 2 lanes, there was a ridiculous amount of people, like 4 or 5, that were taking turns swimming a lap and then another person or 2 people would go. Eventually, someone had the cojones to start swimming in the idle lane, prompting the stragglers to move and then exit the pool, leaving more room for the actual swimmers. That isn't my only bad experience though. People here seem to think that it's ok to just jump in and start swimming in a lane you're using, without asking or even giving you a heads up. Then when you almost crash into them, they look at you like "what? You should have seen me get in!" Another thing is how they share lanes here. The way it's supposed to be done is, one person stays on the left side of the blue line and the other person on the right. They, however swim one side going in one direction and the other side coming back. I guess this is so more than 2 people can share a lane at a time but the drawback is, what if one person is slow and another is a fast swimmer? Then you got people going around and crashing into another person on the other side. The fact is, no one using the pool knows how to be patient and wait. They just chisel their way in and don't care. Oh and one more thing I almost forgot about. On Thursdays, they close the pool down around 6 or so for a 3 hour water aerobics class. Is it really necessary to do this during peak hours? They have all day during the week when most people are working when they could do this. Not like there aren't other classes going on during the day.I haven't gone to the floor where the weight machines and free weights are. so I can't comment on that part but as far as what I've experienced overall, I would recommend the gym for their cardio equipment but not for the pool area.

Used to come here quite a bit, but so much has changed. Equipment is getting quite old now, change rooms are not always the cleanest, but I'm not picky. Things always malfunctioning in the pool area: whirlpool, steam or sauna. Lanes are quite busy with swimmers, would recommend going early or late. Midnight swims were always fun to do...

The equipment cables are left in disrepair for over 2 weeks. For example, the outer hip abductor machine (of which there's only one), has been in disrepair for going on 3 weeks. When I have called or asked about it or any other broken equipment. I'm told that they have to order parts and depending on the age of the equipment it take longer, blah blah. Since cables shouldn't be too difficult, I find this hard to believe. Seems like the standard answer to any concern. The bathrooms are disgusting with floors dirty and toilet paper on the floor. My wife told me the women's bathroom has sanitary napkin over floor too. This is pretty much a regular condition. It was a great gym when it first opened in 2008. Now, it appears the management just doesn't care. They need to bring in management that cares about its members and a clean environment.

While this 24 location is slightly further to me than the Monterey Park location, I would gladly make the drive.Pros:+ Sole parking structure next to the gym. Unlike the MP location, I'm usually able to find a parking spot here, even during peak hours.+ Overall cleanliness. The gym itself is generally clean without an overflow in their trash bins. The locker room is also generally clean (except for the restrooms - those are a hit or miss.)Cons:+ Equipment/Entertainment. The equipment here is fair, but can be a bit outdated if compared to some newer locations with slightly more advanced technology. Updated TVs or stations would be nice - I'm not a huge fan of watch the 24 Hr Fitness commercials.Overall, I am able to park and get my workout in without too much issue.

I enjoy a good work out and most of the time I'll end up at 24 hr fitness in Arcadia. The fitness center is pretty clean. Women's restroom needs to be a bit more clean though. The workout machines are good. I haven't had major issues with it. I usually run on the treadmill, work on my abs, and arms. During the summer, I would go for a nice swim. Other than that, things are pretty good there.

the facility in itself is not too bad. I never ever get pushed to buy trainer services ever. I avoid hours when people are crowded. Because it is open 24 hours, I just go super early in the morning before going to work.I'm asian myself but I do agree and find some asian members at 24 hr fitness extremely rude. It either comes from cultural differences or they are just rude people. But I did have non-asian members who were rude to me just as well. One time, I was standing next to a treadmill helping my wife set something up, and as I tried to start my own right next to hers, a non-asian member starts to clean up the machines with a wet paper towel or something and started to use the machine. It was very obvious that I was going to use that particular machine because it was right next to my wife's. (and there were plenty of other machines vacant)I didn't bother to argue/fight because I choose not to waste time on the ignorant.

I'm a U.S. MARINE and I have done 3 combat tours 2 in Iraq and 1 to Afghanistan and the employees are very disrespectful they said because I wasn't resident I couldn't work out there and I think I earned my right to work out at any facility considering I give my life for my country. Anyhow I do not recommend this place for a peaceful workout.

I think it's funny that the other reviewer mentioned congestion...it's 24 hour fitness!! I'm not even going to tell you what gym I go to for fear that you sheep-in-the-herd will follow. I had the chance to work out at 24 and died from laughter at the amount of sheep that pile into this place at ALL hours of the day. At 11pm this place is still packed! ha ha. My gym has about 10 people in it at that time. And at peak hours, I can get on ANY machine with out waiting. Pays to have a little more money and not feel like you have to work out with where ever the crowds go.1) 24 hour fitness sales people are worse than used car salesmen.2) 24 hour fitness is congested because people love brand names and 24 is always offering cheap year memberships...you get what you pay for.Lesson...only retards work out at 24

This gym is pretty new but here are my observations:1) Since it is a new gym, they over-staff the trainers (who have to fend for themselves for customers) to try to make lots of personal trainer revenue.2) Too many trainers at the same time results in certain places getting terribly crowded during rush hours.3) The staff/trainers are really rude to other members when they are training their clients.4) Staff and trainers do no spend enough time making sure they gym is clean. This should not be a problem since they have so many people working there at the same time.5) Poor layout and too much equipment in the upstairs area, creating really bad congestion during rush hours.6) All of the above can probably be a result of bad management.Overall, I give this branch a bad rating. I have been to about thirteen 24 hour fitnesses in Southern California (from Ontario to LA to Sherman Oaks, etc, etc...). I have seen others that are better managed.
