24 Hour Fitness in downtown Portland offers a varied gym experience with numerous amenities including a swimming pool, sauna, steam room, and a variety of machines and weights. The gym is well connected to public transport, and street parking is available, though not free. It's known for friendly and helpful staff, although mixed reviews highlight some inconsistency in customer service and cleanliness.
While the gym offers a good range of equipment and is generally not overcrowded, many users have noted issues such as poor air conditioning, cleanliness, and maintenance of facilities. Additionally, despite its name, the gym is not open 24 hours, which can be frustrating for members who require late-night or very early morning access.

While a decent, quieter gym ideal for your everyday workout, the Downtown 24 is in need of updating. The lighting system could be redesigned to allow the ceiling lattice over the cardio equipment area to be raised higher. Spin bikes are so tired and worn out -- as is much of the strength training equipment.Regardless of the qualms, I prefer this gym over the Pearl 24.

Got robbed by an employee here working the night shift on July 11th at around 2:30am-4am. Left about $120 in one of the mens locker room lockers used the club locker with built in combination lock and when I finished my work out I noticed it was missing. The employees can bypass the locks I know from past experience when I forgot the combination. It takes a few seconds and the same employee seemed nervous when I was leaving. It's bad enough the homeless use this place as their public bathroom do we really need to worry about employees too?

Great layout and much more spacious than you'd think when seeing it from the street. The lack of parking is noticeable though. Unless you're willing to pay for parking or you come at odd hours, you won't be able to park anywhere near the gym. There are two 24 Hour Fitness locations in downtown. This one, and one in Pearl. The Pearl location has a small parking lot and more street parking as well.

Closest place to work out after work downtown. Not enough squat racks, smaller weight room. They allow bums downtown to use the showers. The showers are rarely cleaned and by far the worst of any 24 I've ever been to. They only change shower curtains until they are covered in mildew. No towel service at this location because it's only a sport. They did get a set of brand new treadmills so in guess that'scool.

I'm glad there's an affordable gym downtown. It feels really dated though, like there hasn't been a remodel in years. At least compared with other gyms I've attended that look much more modern, open and have more tvs. I know to a lot of people that's no big deal, but I thought it was worth mentioning especially for the price you pay. If you're just looking for a place to use equipment or do laps in the pool... This gym is within walking distance if you live near the area and not rediculously expensive. This is kind of your only option so I'd recommend it for that reason.

Good gym, lots of different equipment and it's never been too busy. Nice staff but I just wear headphones and don't really talk to anyone. They only have 1 squat rack and then another type of squat rack I've never used or seen before, I think it's a squat rack? So I often have to push back leg day a couple visits or wait 15/20 minutes until it's open. If they had a second one this place would be perfect.

Machines are the oldest of any of the Portland 24hr gyms, and poorly repaired, weights are missing and lockers dirty.

One night I left my swim shorts there like an idiot, but I called and one of the staff there named Tanner was willing to look for them and found them and bagged them and tagged them and put them in the lost and found for me to pick up, I consider that first class customer service, thank you Tanner and 24 Hour Fitness for the great customer service.

Dirty! Dirty mildew covered shower curtains, mold all over shower tile. Smelly steam room. Dirty exercise floor. Grossly filthy pool surround. Hot tub had so much bleach my blue trunks turned grey. Just plain nasty.
