A necessary evil. Affordable costs. Of they did not stick it to you in july an had Olympic bars an items to do farmers walks with would be perfect. Support local gyms if you can afford it

No judgement, affordable gym on the edge of Dorchester. Parking is available in the small lot or at various spots under the bridge. Gym is on the second floor. There is an elevator for those who need it but it doesn't look too fast. Locker rooms and tanning bed is near the front. Exercise equipment is primarily facing the window. Neponset river and north Quincy are the views. Basically quiet and everyone is working on their personal fitness. This is what I like in a gym.

I like this gym a lot. Sure, it's only Planet Fitness, but they give you exactly what they advertise. The overall vibe there is friendly, and both the workout area and men's locker room are clean. They have a pair of Smith machines. Unless you are a fairly serious strength athlete, Planet Fitness will serve your weightlifting goals.

August 2018: Very friendly staff. One of the smaller ones, so usually a wait for machine or equipment. Should be fine, on a much less crowded day.August 2019: Changed rating from 3 to 4 stars! This PF has expanded now. It went from one floor to two floors now. With all new equipment, machines, and locker rooms. The first floor is mostly free weights, along w TRX equipment, locker rooms, tanning and massage beds. The 2nd floor is mainly cardio & calisthenics, as of right now(since renovations aren't quite completed just yet).

The place is pretty spacious and open. It is good if you want to focus mainly on cardio related workouts, but lacks a large enough free weights and assisted bench section (they are always packed and the lunk alarm is triggered whenever someone grunts or drops a weight a little too hard, low-key annoying)

Very disappointed in their staff (Mike) and inability to stick to their word. I wasn't even trying to join, but should have known that something was fishy when they asked for credit card information. I should have read the reviews before even stepping foot into this "gym". I'm seeing many posts about lost refunds.

Worst place to go!!!!! WASTE OF TIME/MONEY1st - space is too small to workout2nd - parking is horrible3rd - no group workout or get kicked out (smh)4th - NO PERSONAL TRAINER!!!!!!!which is very inconvenient for those who are beginner's. Having to use machines and not having a clue on how to use them is a waste of time. Deff need the guidance in order to get the proper workout.

Planet Fitness Corp should take a look at this dirty, run down, unmaintained location. The machines are usually dusty & dirty, the "children" running the place a rude and aloof, plus there never seems to be anyone at the front desk. It's giving this franchise a bad rap but they don't seem to care, gym hasn't been updated in years!

Gym for people who don't know how to work out on their own. Minimal free weights, no benches (regular or inclined/declined), no olympic bar. Good news is that it doesn't have that classic PF smell that makes you want to vomit immediately, unlike the gym at Downtown Crossing.
