Planet fitness is great the employees treat everyone so wonderful the equipment is clean because we all clean it if you're not a member you need to be one

Great staff and some of the best fitness equipment out there. But, to be fair, there is room for improvement. In this day and age, post pandemic, surely we can do better with cleanliness at the drinking fountain and bathroom. Seriously.

All these other reviews had me thinking I was going to the deep ghetto, thankfully they were wrong. Very busy shopping center, showers were relatively clean. There were some hard water stains and one dental flosser, but nothing super concerning. I did find it weird there wasn’t a shelf for soap/shampoo like normal. If you aren’t aware of planet fitness cancelation troubles, you didn’t do your research beforehand.

So let me start off by saying this is one of the nicest facilities in the area. The showers even have a step in with individual drains instead of 1 large long drain for all the showers to share. The machines are kept super clean, and there is plenty of cardio equipment that there is never a wait. So, the reason for the low rating...The area isn't the safest, and there is zero security on the property. There are people who are there throughout the night who don't have memberships or any legal business there that are scaring people and running them off at night. My husband and I work the second and third shifts and enjoy using showers and the black card lounge at night after work to relax together and again in the morning to do the 30 min circuit training. Coming in at 1am is scary. Even coming in just for the morning circuit at 4 am is scary. 7/19-20/23 we were harassed and scared away while we were getting our bags ready to go in. I made it in the door to try to talk to the young man (20s?) who was working the front counter, but he was more interested in his phone than anything I had to say. So I quietly walked out and we left. I never expected that type of crowd in Renton...Believe it or not, we were actually less scared and intimidated at night at the 9000 Rainier facility that is (almost) in the greenbelt district of Seattle and got better service there, despite a slightly lower quality amenities at the facility. People working there actually cared about our safety and made sure everything was OK from the time we walked into the facility to the time we made it to our vehicle after.

I like planet fitness. It’s a simple gym, mostly focused on cardio, and machines. They do also have four squat / bench press combo racks, but the few times I’ve been they are always full. I did get into rotation using one for squats. But if you’re looking for a gym with plenty of free weights, this is not your gym. However, if you want lots of cardio options, and some prebuilt circuit training routines, with easy to use “how to” guides, this probably is your place. I think it’s $27/month and includes a guest. They also have tanning, red light, and hydrotherapy included as a black card member. For the price, and 24 hour (5 days a week, long hours on the weekends), you can’t beat it for cardio and basic machines.

I signed up for a black card membership. Was told I wasn't able to buy an entire year membership due to problems with the computer but I could sign up for a pay as you go membership with debit or credit. Ok. I did that. I was told verbally AND shown a color printout kept at the front desk showing all the services I and 2 guests may take advantage of. I asked at the front desk for or if are and water aerobic classes. I was told yes but a finalized schedule wasn't available at that time but to either come in or call to ask for the schedule. I did go in 3 days in a row but told no schedule available yet. A few days later I called and was told to call other Planet Fitness to find a schedule. I finally got a live person on the phone who told me there is no water aerobics offered anywhere. I called the covington pf I signed up with and was told my PAID for black card wouldn't allow my sister to come workout with me or use the pool for laps. Such a scam!!!

Very amateur gym no suspension training, few free weights, no heavy bags, speed bags, cardio rooms, CrossFit equipment. Very basic but great staff and friendly service. The staff are 5 star but the gym is super basic

This place is decent enough for the price. However, during the summer giving FREE access to the high school kids can be incredibly annoying. Personally I think its a great idea and easy accessibility to fitness is the key to staying fit and healthy. Good on PF for doing so.BUT if you're going to let everyone in for free and let me subsidize their memberships, EVERYONE should be following the same set of gym rules. I also think everyone needs a brief lesson on gym etiquette and how to be respectful of other patrons in the gym, and the PF staff should be out and about encouraging people to do so. The amount of large groups standing around machines, blocking gym equipment, texting, and the excessive hoarding weights is obscene. It's is not only annoying, it's rude and inefficient for everyone. Having more than one or two workout partners is giant waste of everyones time. This is our neighborhood gym, NOT an after school social club for teenagers. The idea is great, but instead of letting large swaths of high school kids run our gym like an high school PE class, this PF could do a better job of making the gym experience better for everyone. Like they do the other 9-ish months of the year.
