I've been a member for a few years and have enjoyed my time there. The issue I have had is that i'm disabled (bone cancer) and they only have a few things (which is actually more than a lot of gyms) that i can do for cardio. Recently they purchased all new equipment for the entire gym BUT added 4 accessible machines by a medical equipment company, 2 arm crank machines and 2 accessible ellipticals. I could not be more thankful to the manager who decided to make these purchases.

Pretty low class establishment. While I do understand that the customer service is not the top priority for a gym but this location takes the cake. Front desk staff is super rude and argumentative. Also, if you have a membership, make sure to cancel it in person at the location you originally signed up if you plan to move away across the country. Planet fitness has this very ancient and absolutely stupid police which states that THE ONLY way to cancel your membership is to do it in person battery the original location. If you happen to move away 2000 miles and not know about this absolutely abhorrent policy, you are out of luck. Then they want you to send them a letter asking them to cancel your membership, which, of course, they will ignore and deny that they ever receive. I sent them a certified letter, which, as you guessed it, was never received.

I use to go to I guess bigger, more well equipped gyms and now that I’ve been going to planet fitness for a couple weeks on bro guest pass. Honestly the difference apart from like a pool sauna and things like that it’s all the same. Although irrelevant the purple and yellow give me Chuck E. Cheese vibes but it’s a solid gym no complaints. Also shout out my guy at the front desk always greets us with a smile.

I don’t usually write reviews unless my experience was vividly pleasant, or unpleasant. Today I had an unpleasant experience with the manager, Jared. Finding multiple negative reviews mentioning his name honestly makes this easier to write. The regular staff here are all friendly and welcoming. I’ve been coming here since summer of 2022 and I’ve never had a problem as every staff member I’ve had an encounter with always strived to ensure a positive experience for me.I woke up to a $50 charge from Planet when I was sure I had a classic membership. When I called to address the issue, the sweet employee on the phone acknowledged my frustrations but unfortunately was unable to refund me, due to policy. I will admit that it is a mistake on my end for not fully reading the agreement when signing up for my membership. I was charged the $40 annual fee, which is nonrefundable due to it being in the agreement. They did leave a note with my name and phone number, but even mentioned that Jared usually doesn’t return phone calls. That screams red flag, lol. His employees don’t even like him!I decided to come into the gym instead of waiting on a phone call that I probably won’t get. I find Jared, and he assisted me in such a nonchalant manner. I expressed my worries and concerns about the billing issue since I’m unemployed and won’t be for about another week. I was in distress as any other broke student would be, not knowing how I was going to pay this overdraft. In the end, Jared gave me two months of free access to this Planet Fitness as compensation. It is not the outcome of the issue I’m upset about. It’s the way this manager expressed absolutely no empathy towards a guest in need of help and if anything, seemed annoyed to be doing his job. My friend was with me and even confirmed she saw how utterly annoyed his expression and tone seemed. If I just had a friendlier experience with this manager, I wouldn’t go out of my way to write this review. I understand that he was only doing what he could, per policy. But the attitude is uncomfortable.

I can’t complain with my experience. It’s a very clean gym, people are respectful. Demar is extremely helpful with proving great service showing you how everything functions and also makes you feel welcome if you are from another area. Great customer service skills.

Jamar, Jakota, and Hawk provided excellent service. My normal gym is Rainier Beach. The renton gym was so well maintained and clean. I was very impressed. Great, clean, organized gym.

I had something stolen at this location and not a single employee bothered to try and help. The manager is a joke who gaslit me during the entire conversation. Disappointing. I'll be cancelling my membership after only 2 weeks. Don't waste your time or money at this location- there's other, safer, gyms a short drive away.

Worst club fitness ever. Do not join unless you want to continue paying your membership for a long time after you have requested to cancel it. I no longer live near this club and they refuse to cancel even though I have called them multiple times and over email they have told me that I need to send them a formal letter or stop by the club. They’re holding me hostage to this terrible membership!

The regional guy is totally on a power trip he followed me around and asked me to set down my 15 lb weights more gently. Then as I was on another machine he approached me and told me to get off the phone and apparently I hurt his feelings and didn’t get off fast enough for him . Then as I was leaving he followed me to the bathroom and waited outside and walked right next to me when I asked him to back up he was to close he then threatened me and ask what are you going to do about it . Then he trespassed me from the gym with the police and smiled and laughed as I was leaving man what great customer service. I’ve been trying to get ahold of his boss and he won’t give me any information and his response was well sue me . Ok I will then !

I was really offended by the public display between a planet fitness employee and a member. It was very unprofessional and seemed to have stemmed from the member using his phone. This aggressive behavior should not be tolerated. If I was the franchisee I would be monitoring my his fella. People say finding good help is hard right now, maybe they’re just setting for the best they can find?
