Gold's Gym at Willow Lawn offers a 24/7 fitness experience with a wide array of equipment and classes. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and helpful staff, the gym caters to both beginners and fitness enthusiasts. This location is praised for its friendly trainers, like Paige Spencer and Jesse Fuller, and its variety of group classes.

However, the gym faces criticism for billing issues, cleanliness in locker rooms, and the challenging membership cancellation process. Members highlighted the need for better maintenance of facilities, including the lone water fountain. The overall atmosphere and equipment make it a popular choice, despite some drawbacks.

Great gym in the area with lots of equipment and a big crowd with good energy. Adam is my trainer and he is very knowledgeable about how to make gains properly and push hard when needed. I have always had good experiences with this gym. The gym really needs a new water cooler to replace the old water fountain *and* an additional water cooler in the free weight area. There is no water pressure and the waiting line builds up. They do sell the best bars ever which are delicious in all flavors.

I have been a member of this gym for a year and counting. The staff and service has always exceeded expectations. Rachel has always stood out from the others in regards to friendliness and knowledge. She has always been helpful when I have needed a replacement scan card and informing me of facility updates. I would recommend Golds Gym Willow Lawn to any new comers to the area without hesitation.

The gym itself is pretty clean compared to other gyms, however the cleaning wipes/paper are almost always empty. You have to go to the next in line most of the time. Not an issue, it adds steps to my day.The rate is fair as well, and the premium rate is fair considering that you gain access to the other Golds in that franchise. And access to other amenities. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Some of them even greet you by name when you enter the building- how cool is that? The atmosphere is great and the guests and members are fairly clean and friendly. The amount of cardio equipment and the class rooms is more than enough, they NEED more free weight equipment. I usually come before work or during a break- and I come to work here. Not socialize. If I want to bench, I don't want to wait for the group of chatty people to get done with their glute raises. If I want to squat in the squat rack, I shouldn't have to wait 30 minutes for the guy curling or rowing. Use a machine for that. Simple. End rant.I love this place despite some of the negative comments. I've been a member for over four years and won't leave unless I am forced to.I hope you find this review helpful. Have a wonderful day.#ScottMcNuttReviewsRVA

I'm more of an outdoor exercise enthusiast, but the cold winter months usually force me inside. Thankfully, there are lots of exercise options at Gold's. I LOVE the classes and use them as an opportunity to switch up my routine. All the instructors and staff have been super friendly. In particular, I have to shout out to Nick Steele for his positive attitude and helping me out when I have class schedule questions.

Like any other gym, Golds Gym makes you feel welcome and very flexible with your needs and schedule...but like every other gym, that is as far as the customer service goes. I was signed up with a gentleman a year ago and he tailored a membership to fit my needs and I was very clear that I don't like being locked down by a contract. We decided on a simple year membership and I signed up and was good to go! By the time I got back to my office I received the e-mailed contract and immediately noticed that they had signed me up for a two year contract. I called the gym and spoke with 3 different people and they all assured me that the mistake was due to their new computer system and that the membership I signed up for was only for a year. I followed up again a few months later when my debit card changed and I had to update the information- again it was stating that I had a 2 year membership. So once again I called Golds Gym, I got bounced around to several people, all of which had no idea what they were doing, and finally was given an email address to contact with my issues. I e-mailed Jessica explaining my process in detail and begged her for a response/solution. Guess what....NO RESPONSE! I am now back on the phone once again trying to get this settled because my membership should have expired 4 days ago and they are telling me that I am not able to cancel. I am sitting on hold after being told I would get a call back this morning...no call. I called again and have been on hold for 25 minutes currently while he "finds someone that can help."Listening to this recording now for 25 minutes telling me how acertive they are to their clients, and how customer focused they are....its sickening really. Golds Gym is just another member pushing community that is only concerned with signing up EVERY person possible and then roping them in with ridiculous contracts and severe LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE.

I have been a member at Golds Willow lawn for a little over two years now. I have to say I like the facility overall. They have nice equipment and continue to bring more and more in. Sometimes the workout backroom can get a little crowded during peak time but that happens everywhere. Maybe they can open the stretching room for more exercises. The staff is generally very good. One staff member that consistently goes above and beyond for me is Nicholas Steele. Nick remembers my name and always welcomes me to the gym every morning. Nick is also helpful in telling me about new classes etc. Nick portrays a personal interest in me and always sees how he can improve my Golds experience.

I love this place. I've just recently started going and I love the classes and the atmosphere! Also, Rosemary's Barre class is awesome!! I haven't been working out as much as I should have been, but now I can't stop. I also love the free tanning and classes that are available. The gym is always clean and there is always someone walking around and cleaning up dust and dirt or whatever needs to be cleaned. Really makes me want to stay. Also, the staff is always very friendly and welcoming. Thanks, guys!!

Nick Steele is absolutely the BEST at handling the front desk!! Always a smile on his face, a warm welcome to people walking in to the gym and a sincere farewell to clients when they leave! I know it can get very hectic sometimes with the phone ringing, people waiting for assistance at the front desk, answering questions and overall maintenance of the front area. But Nick seems to take it all in stride I have never heard him complain or talk negatively about his job or any of his coworkers. He is really an asset to this facility and I hope management lets him know how appreciated he is!!

The office staff and the overcrowding seen at peak times during the day are another issue, for this review I wanted to exclusively rate the facilities and the trainer that I have encountered as excellent. As far as the facilities go, the gym is probably the best gym in the area. I love that the weight room is so large filled with must-have equipment. Additionally, the trainer that I have encountered there, Alex Vandenesse, is excellent and one of the most dedicated trainers there and I cannot express enough how knowledgeable and friendly he can be. I have become stronger than ever before and attribute that largely in part to the input that Alex has provided. Seeing him at the gym is the highlight of my workout.

I love coming to this gym especially to see my personal trainer, Antonio Vega. When we first started training together, I had significant limitations in my schedule and he has been totally accommodating. His perseverance and enthusiasm to see me get results has been motivating and makes me feel completely supported in this aspect of my life. The workouts he plans out for me are always dynamic, adaptive (like getting me to box when he knows I am stressed!) and are well thought out to challenge and push me where I need it most. I am yet to leave one of our sessions without being a sweaty mess!Overall this gym is awesome - what impresses me most is despite a large patronage, they really seem to take on members suggestions and are always working to improve the facilities/classes and overall experience.
