This place is a rip off! I paid my last month in person. Signed papers and all. You still continued to charge me in which I was charged $30 overdraft fees from my bank. .... Now I tried to settle this . But the women I spoke with was rude . And not understanding. Although I was sent out a forgiveness plan. Thay would not honer it. All I wanted was to go back and use the treadmill. Very rude manager at the salam gym. I have felt so disrespected when another treadmill user. Put her steanky feet on my arm rail while working out.!!! how nasty and an sanitary. Plus no one wipes off there equipment. GROSS !!!

Cheap but very unorganized. Its a free for all. Kids who run it do not supervise or even walk around to see if they can help newbies with machines or to make sure all is going well. They just congregate up at front desk and socialize. ONE guy seems to pay attention to replenishing things but thats about it. So you have people wandering about talking very loudly on their phones as well as on treadmills or sitting at a station unaware of anyone else who is waiting to use machine. Men who come over and cut into and disrupt the flow of circuit room and completely take over machines and even sitting there going on phone while they take break in between sets! To top it off once done they get up and just walk away w/out wiping down machine leaving sweat all over the place! Meanwhile 'meathead' club takes over free weights and other machines. Not to mention pizza night when parents feel free to bring all the kids in! I joined bc price was right but eventually got tired of it not being supervised AT ALL!!!

My review isn't based on the actual gym, but the poor management. I went in a few days ago to address a billing issue I was having. Originally I was greeted by a regular employee who was super nice and helpful, as the manager Ryan stood by on the side and listened as I was explaining my issue to the employee. Once the employee handed me off to the manager to "take care" of the problem, the manager rudely asked me what my name was to look up my account. He didn't greet me or ask how I was doing, nothing. He then proceeded to tell me that there was "nothing he could do for me" but offered to cancel my membership.. which is exactly what I did !! It amazes me that a manager of such a big establishment can have such little people skills and lack customer service, and then offer to cancel my membership, as if they don't even value the customer's business at all. Either way, Planet Fitness Salem will not be getting my money in 2018.

Love my local planet fitness. This is the only planet fitness where I'm never hot. It might have something to do with the fact that there are these mega fans swirling around. It is such a great concept. I travel often and most planet fitness gyms are too hot when I'm running on the treadmill. That's never the case at this gym. Perfect for a planet fitness.

Tight in space it has all types of things to offer as any other gym does. Friendly stuff, nice lockers, all types of gym equipment available + massage (if you pay $20 a month). I pay for a super basic plan ($10) and Would never pay more than $10 for it, but I do go to that gym and not going to leave. One thing I am super unhappy about: the gym is pretty dirty, partially due to the fact the people dont wipe equipment after themselves. So wash your hands! But other than that it’s a good gym. Worth what you pay.

Been going here for about a year now, and I love this gym! Always clean, they're pretty responsive to fixing non-working machines, and it's always open! I do wish they had more free-weights and had more space up front near the windows for stretching and mat workouts. But for the money- it's awesome!I always recommend this gym!

Poor customer service came in wanting to pay my bill and Representative charges me my owed balance then I go on the next day assistant manager and manager tells me I have a over due balance and asks me to leave I ask can I come in with a friend holding the anger and embarrassment of there mistake they escort me to my friend as if I was a criminal I left feeling discriminated and ashamed

Staff is friendly location clean has a lot to offer only problem not a lot of free weight and dumbbell if you are into that style of training

One of the better gyms I've been a member of. Mostly they have everything I need, although sometimes I wish they had more than one of some of the weight machines, and more cardio equipment than treadmills and ellipticals. They have lots of them though, and I've never had to wait.

Cheap, all the equipment you need, plenty of treadmills, bikes, and ellipticals, massage beds, chairs and tan booths. Staff is attentive but it isn't fun on the days when the women's locker room have male staff cleaning, mildly frequent.
