Best civilian gym in San Diego. It reminds me of gyms in Marselles, Cairo, and Puerto Rico and the grittier warehouse districts in new york city’s old meat market and waterfront in Brooklyn where Russians and Bulgarians do dead lifts and the barrel chested weight lifter is an olympic team member. But females will feel very comfortable with female staff always present. Classes and trainers are available. The equipment is basic but everything you need is there, free weights and nautilus equipment and treadmills and biicycles and equipment for classes. Staff and management are freindly and other gym users are generally aware of others and are not territorial, but you can find a time that is less busy if you prefer. I do see people doing lunges in some of the suoervised classes etc and based on my own experience, I cannot recommend lunges or any forceful stretch - youre at least after your thirties, better off taking your cue from dancers. Plies at a barre are the best exercise I know for avoiding runners’ splints. But I am not a specialist so enjoy!

This has always been the hidden gem and best gym hands down in San Diego. At my previous gym 24 hour fitness doesn’t matter the location it was always crowded and FULL of people. The vibe in here is what makes it a great gym!!! The people that go here are awesome no one hits on you, no judgement and I have actually made friends here. As far as the actual gym they have everything that a gym needs but it is a no frills gym. They have an out door section also that has tires ropes etc. I haven’t been to Boxing or the group classes. The front desk people are very knowledgeable about fitness and quickly become family! They usually always have something going on in the lobby either vendors massages meal prep people etc. Also very clean they have a cleaning person that comes in at night that I have seen who is friendly. I love it!

It can be hard to find a real weightlifter's gym in the age of Crossfit and 24 hour fitness where people go to exercise their vanity and not their bodies, but surely I have found it in Boulevard Fitness! Great equipment, friendly staff, professional trainers and plenty of classes make it easy to achieve your fitness goals here, no matter what they may be. No ego and no attitude here with the staff, and in particular the owner, Shawn, who is there so often with a friendly smile and encouraging words. I have never been even close to this satisfied with a gym and you won't find me anywhere else!

Boulevard Fitness is the best gym that I have ever been too. there is no contract, the people that work there are incredibly friendly and I became friends with many of the people that work there the machines are top-notch the staff are happy to help you, they make sure that if you need something it is provided for you and it is clean, and full of people that are obviously happy to be there. It's very affordable and the trainers are incredible! If you're wasting your time going to the other gyms in San Diego give Boulevard Fitness a chance.I guarantee you'll love it. I lost weight and gained muscle in a very short period of time thanks to Shawn, Mark, Tiffany and coach. I gained confidence and learned so much about exercise and bodybuilding, it's ridiculous. I learned to enjoy being healthy. Sadly I moved back east and I can say with certainty, Blvd fitness is truly one of kind, and I am grateful for having the experience of training there. To be treated as a friend and feel part of a family and not just a customer is what you can expect. Check it out!

This is the best gym I have ever belonged to. Very nice people work there and work out there. It has a low key vibe with a good variety of equipment. I also like how easy and low pressure the membership is. No sales pitch, just sign up month to month. If you want to stop just let them know a month in advance, super easy and no extra fees.

This is a good gym for people who want to get strong. Lots of weights, but some useful machines, heavy bags, and functional gear too. It's a nice, open space, and the staff always keep it super clean.I do powerlifting, and they've got everything I need, in a no nonsense environment.

Great gym except they play music over the loud speakers much too loud. Almost all of the customer's have head phones in which means they're trying to listen to something else so it seems only curtious to turn down the music and let costumers have their own audible space.

Great gym! Been going here for a little over 2 years now. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Unfortunately as of recent this gym has gone from a hidden gem and having no waits to use equipment. To being so packed on a daily basis, you can barley get a decent workout in. The classes always take at least 1/4 of the dumbbell rack. And the newer members are super rude, barley put any weights back, clean equipment or take consideration for other gym guest. Unfortunately there is not much the staff can do about that, Wich I totally get. Overall it's just a shame this gym is turning into a typical 24hr fitness type gym. As apposed to the friendly little whole in the wall neighborhood gym it used to be.

A lot of equipment in good shape, hardly waited for any machines. Friendly staff, and great payment plans 👍👍 …

I've been working out a Boulevard Fitness for over a year now, and it is by far my favorite gym in San Diego! Old school vibe, has enough equipment to support the "professional" workout crowd, and management is super friendly and knows most member by name!I will also add that this gym is "unassuming" from the road. This was brought to my attention when I recently invited my buddy to come in and try out a free pass for a couple days!
