The best place of JJ that I have been in. I come from Mexico and from another JJ school, and they receive me with open arms. I fell in love with the place, the classes and more important, the people.

My son and I train here and have been attending for about seven months and love it! The environment is fantastic! Community First is a core value, and you can feel it. The professors and coaches ensure you are doing it right, and everyone (including other students) helps everyone make sure they are doing techniques correctly and never left out or left behind. You train at your speed. What a great find for my son and me! We are happy to be a part of the Gracie Barra family.

Real martial arts jiu jitsu in a safe and clean environment. For every bit you give you will get back in return. I train at my pace and it works. Great place.

Gracie Barra sandy, and Professor Duayne changed my life. Before entering this place I was a shell of what I am today. The people in this school are amazing. they focus on bringing others up, helping people get better, and taking care the family we call Gracie barra. No one person is above another, people inside this place helped me regain my confidence, courage and self esteem. Not to mention my sweet new jujitsu skills. This is somewhere I can come and I know I’ll have a family and am welcomed as one of their own. I’ll be forever greatful for Gracie Barra and Professor Duayne for the things they provided for me.

We have been attending for 3.5 years now and we love it! It is very clean and the staff are professional. Professor is a wonderful teacher and has high expectations for a good learning environment. The kids are expected to care for each other and work well together. I highly recommend this place.

We have been going to Gracie Barra Sandy for a little over a year. My elementary school-aged son is a sweet, gentle boy who isn't particularly athletic or aggressive. Professor Duayne is a former United States Marine and an excellent teacher who infuses discipline and respect with his classes, but what I really like is his heavy emphasis on safety. When teaching kids the grappling skills to control a self defense situation, he teaches them that, once they have a situation under control, that they should always run and get help.Along with learning valuable self-defense skills, my son has learned resilience, and he is enormously proud of the old white belt on his wall, with its hard-earned stripes as opposed to his participation trophies from soccer and other sports.Something else that hits home is the welcoming family atmosphere at Gracie Barra Sandy led by Coach Erin, Coach Amber, Coach Daniella, Coach Amy and Coach Riley. They are patient, personal teachers who have taken the time to actually get to know my boy to the point where they even know the names of his siblings.I you wish to know more, I suggest checking out Gracie Barra Sandy's Facebook/Instagram pages where they always post pictures and videos of their classes.

This company is incredibly dishonest. We signed up for a 6 month contract to help teach our son some fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu. We did not enjoy our time there and did not continue our services after our 6 month contract. They continued charging us for a year after our contract ended and when asked about it doubled down that that was the money they somehow earned. Even though me or my son hadn't stepped foot in their gym for over a year. Pretty disgusting dishonesty over there.

I've only had great experiences with this gym since I started training a few months ago. The people- and I mean the staff, leaders, coaches, and participants- are all first-class, genuine souls that care about my progress, and care about me personally. You can't go wrong with joining here. Regarding certain recent reviews- I have yet to have anybody force their way into my phone... and what's up with not paying attention to your finances for over 6 months? You'd both be better served sticking with jiu-jitsu and hip-escaping out from under your vicitim mentality.

My son and husband have been training here since around May 2021. We just moved to Utah about a year ago and now we can’t imagine being anywhere else in large part because of this awesome family friendly school! The community, the overall vibe, the cute pups, Professor Dwayne, Coach Erin, the commitment to cleanliness, the coaches and all the people that train here all make this school special. We are even planning on moving to Sandy just to be closer since we are practically there everyday 😂. We highly recommend for the entire family.
