Inappropriate involvement with the clients personal lives. The learning environment is far from nurturing and there is very little support and understanding from the instructors and owners.

If you live in or around Sandy, UT, and are in any way curious about exploring martial arts, look no further than Gracie Barra Sandy. JiuJitsu is the ultimate combination of physical fitness, self defense training, and confidence building, and at Gracie Barra Sandy you'll be treated to a friendly, constructive, safe and encouraging environment. They even offer a free class, so there's no reason not to stop by, introduce yourself, put on a gi and give it a try. Professor Duayne is a fantastic instructor, ensuring a safe learning environment where you'll partner with another student to collaborate and practice. JiuJitsu training isn't about beating another person -- you'll never feel bullied or embarrassed, as your partner is there to help you learn and grow. Chances are that on your first class you'll end up getting paired with a more experienced student who will start off by shaking your hand, introducing themselves with a smile, and then offering to help you learn the technique. This is not a combat training gym, and nobody is there to beat up, hurt, or put you down. Gracie Barra is all about being a team, and at their Sandy school you'll feel right at home as soon as you step on the mat.

It's a great place to learn! Professor Bower is an amazing instructor. The rest of the class is like a nice family. I'm happy to be a part of it.

My old gym was more hostile but the first day I was greeted with a smile. They practice good techniques that don't have many steps and work very well. I'd recommend it over any other gym.
