I don't know what all these bad reviews are for except for the restrooms lacking some attention. I'm usually in during the midday and I can't say anything but good news to the two gentlemen that work the front desk. They are always so kind and always willing to help out. Overall, this location for Vasa is one of the bests! You know there's gonna be people that are annoying but that's part of the gym. Don't let those few people stop you from working out at the best Gym Brand there is in Utah.

Less than half of the treadmills work properly. I believe I pay a facility improvement fee every year (i.e., in addition to my membership dues), but there is no such improvement in the equipment.Update to my initial review - only 4 out of 20+ treadmills work properly. One treadmill has had an “out of order” sign on it for more than 3 months. There doesn’t appear to be any intent to maintain or fix the equipment.Further update: another few months have passed, a few more malfunctioning treadmills, and absolutely no effort by Vasa to fix any of the treadmills.

Most of the machines are broken, equipment is old and gym is crowded. EOS is around the corner for a better price.

I absolutely love this place. Best gym I know, and it has so many options. It can be a bit overwhelming, but if you get to learn the ropes, it’s very very welcoming to newcomers. I highly recommend VASA Van Winkle

I wrote a raving 5 star review when I first starting coming here, but am editing now that we've been going for a while... I have to lower it since so many treadmills are consistently broken.First and foremost, the front desk people are SO nice, and the best way to start the morning. They're so kind and enthusiastic. I will never go to a different location because I love the staff here so much. They also seem receptive to their online reviews.Howwweeeever... this location is packed and the equipment can't sustain that. For example there are ~24 treadmills, and 3-5 of them are broken at all times. And there are some that aren’t technically all the way broken, but they can’t go past a certain speed etc. But for a super busy location this can be very frustrating to get there and you can’t get a treadmill, etc. Especially if you’re on a schedule. This may be less of an issue for other people who have more flexible training. I have a physical condition which limits me to the treadmill, so I can't just switch to bike/elliptical if it's busy... but it might be a non-issue for others.I'm grateful to this location because it has a sauna and few gyms offer that! If you do want to do the sauna - I would highly recommend not going at peak hours because there is a heavy thick stench of misery. Like an evil witch is making toenail broth for her victims. That’s through no fault of VASA, just the result of a small overcrowded space of sweaty men. But really - it can be a pretty wretched experience hahah morning sauna is ideal. It’s still better than other gyms, but the equipment issue is enough to have to bump it down a star.

These guys will rob you for everything you own. I paid over $700 for personal training and they never delivered on over 13 sessions. Massive amounts of hidden fees and they will charge you via ACH over and over again for no reason multiple times a month. Never sign up for this gym go to EOS much much better and easy to work with.

Only downside is people don’t follow the wet area rules and go into the sauna and steam room with street shoes and street clothes. Wish management made it a healthier wet space and asked people to at least take off their street shoes.

The gym itself is fine. Maybe the best layout of any Vasa around. However, the staff and quality of equipment is lacking. The equipment is consistently broken and takes months to get fixed. Even the water fountain was out of commission for weeks. The management is useless and cowardly. My wife was verbally assaulted by a patron and even threatened with violence by a meathead. Multiple official incident reports were filed, including ones not by us, but by complete strangers regarding the incident. The GM said they saw the video tape but without audio they couldn't remove the member in question. If you're a woman and value privacy/safety/respect, don't go here. We're now at EoS and much happier.

Even though this location is a little further for me, it’s worth it. The staff is friendly and helpful. I see the staff actively cleaning which is a big + for me. This location is big and doesn’t feel overcrowded. My main complaint… the foam rollers need to be replaced. Also, the equipment is a little older and needs maintenance often, but they are pretty timely in getting the machines fixed.

I had to pay $172.00 in order to cancel my membership. They didn't care because they had my signature so they could legally milk it out of me. Predatory business practices.
