Filthy showers, sauna smelled Horrifyingly strong of mildew. Who needs walking room when you can get hit by moving machinery that's spaced only 3 feet apart?Gotta love waiting in line to use a bench press because there's like, 5, or waiting to use the dumbells you want.

The gym is so so. It has a basement gym smell, and a lot of the equipment does work. The movie cardio room is nice, but sometimes the lights are off completely and it can be dangerous. It is however quite crowded every day no matter what time of day (Van Winkle location). I did not renew my membership.

The workers are super nice and the place is huge with tons of machines and it has all the amenities (pool, sauna, steam room) but it’s a mess. Bathrooms are old and disgusting. Terrible gym culture—nobody racks their weights. Go there to workout aftert work and dumbbell racks are completely empty. Tons of machines but not enough free weights for members. Things are all over the place —45 lb plates laying around, no 25 lb plates, I don’t think they even have 10 lbs anywhere. It’s got a lot of potential but clearly ownership couldnt care less about quality or making simple improvements that would go a long way.

I stay at Vasa because it has so many location, that is the reason I have a membership there. I’m writing this review specifically about the gym I go to most (Van Winkle, Murray) Machines are constantly broken, the bathrooms are typically dirty with out of order toilets and don’t have disposable toilet seat covers which I think is crazy at a gym where people are at their sweatiest. Front desk staff are not helpful, they act as if you are putting them out at the smallest question from members. The kid care, while I’m grateful it’s available has terrible hours. If you work a 8-5 job like I do, is basically a complete waste of money. The hours are 8 AM - 2 PM, so not early morning or after work. I can take advantage of kid care on Saturdays only. Again, two stars for convenience of having multiple locations across the state. - B. Bastian

This place is pretty good. I come as a guest and they require me to put in all my credentials (they use to just ask for my I.D.) It's a bit annoying but they must have good reason. Hopefully that gets change back to just requiring I.D. The movie room is neat. Sometimes they write down the wrong movie on the white board and neglect the room itself by leaving the lights on or having audio with no visual. The staff is friendly and for the most part it's a clean gym. Still considering if I will become a full member.

Actually a pretty chill place. No muscled watchers making you feel weird, just a good bunch of neighbors. TONs of machines and free weights, which means low/no waiting. My son loves the steam room afterward.

Would like to rate higher but the fact that the sauna has smelled like a 15 year old sneaker every time i use it I can’t. There’s no external showers so people can’t rinse off before or after using sauna, hot tub, or steam room. I’m not sure they clean the sauna room but once a week.

This is the only location where I think some of the staff are rude. I got 6 days a week to three different locations and we only go to the Saturday morning Pilates and Sunday morning Yoga classes at this location. The instructor's are amazing, otherwise I would avoid this location all together. I literally dread checking in with the front desk guy Saturday and Sunday morning.

I tried signing up for VASA in March but when using the account I had set up just seconds prior their website said it was invalid. I tried to reset password but it said the account didn't exist. So I tried to make the account again with the same username but it said the username/email was taken. I then submitted a support ticket and after their support was unable to resolve the issue I asked them to cancel my membership THE VERY SAME DAY that I signed up.I didn't get any service from VASA. I didnt step foot in their buildings. I didnt get the little keychain tag they give to members. Nothing.Today I wake up to an email from their lawyers stating not ONLY did they fail to cancel my membership at my request, they decided to avoid contacting me by mail, email, or phone so that the balance could build up over the last 8 months and send me to collections as an intentional scare tactic ($155 balance as of today for absolutely no services given by VASA).I tried to log in to my account today and it still does not exist. I called the lawyer's number that they had provided and the lady on the line couldn't even verify my phone number, email, address (or previous addresses), name, or date of birth. Very professional.UPDATE: 2 days later and still no ones contacted me from VASA. Great service!

TL;DR – VASA sent my month-to-month membership to a collections agency without communicating they had problems accepting payments.I was a member of this gym for three years. I exercised on Tuesday (November 15) without issue, the very next day (November 16) when I showed up to workout my account was deleted and staff notified me that my account was in collections. This was quite a surprise and a little confusing. How does a month-to-month membership make it to a collections agency? Why was my account not cancelled or flagged the moment issues were experienced? Why had no employees said anything when I scanned in to exercise multiple times a week?I called up their third party payment facilitator (Paramount Acceptance) and they were unable to give me much detail. They could not tell me how much I much owed or how long they were unable to collect payments. All they could tell me was that my account went to collections on November 1st and provided me with a phone number. VASA’s system was still letting me into the gym to exercise two weeks after they sent my account to collections. Since it went to collections I have to assume that this issue was at least a few months in the making. At no point did any staff or representative communicate to me that they were having an issue with my payments. They did communicate via email that my car could be robbed in their parking lot, so kudos. There were a lot of ways this situation could have been avoided with the most basic forms of communication. Despite the terrible corporate management, I find this disappointing because it is a nice gym, with clean equipment and good helpful staff.
