Horrible company. The only reason I signed up to the gym was to use the convection sauna (most gyms these days use infrared for heating). During the month of July 2022 the entire aquatic area and sauna were shut down for maintenance. I had previously received an update from the app saying the area would be close in June, so I ended up not using the sauna for two months. When I asked for a refund for amenities I was paying for but unable to use I was informed that they couldn’t issue a refund because I “could’ve used other amenities”.Paramount, the billing company Vasa uses, has a reputation for being highly predatory and engaging in immoral practices such that even mentioning Vasa in certain websites or forums will have your comment removed, which I find speaks to the company’s integrity. Also the gyms overall are pretty poor- crowded, loud music, shoddy equipment- if you’re actually serious about your health and well-being and you value your time and money I would not recommend Vasa.

Hidden fees. The issue with the gym (or more generally the VASA business model) is that the advertised price is actually a lot less than you pay. I don't remember the specific but for mid tier (basically can use any vasa facility) its was advertised at around 23$ per month. No sign up fee. However there is hidden fee that occurs after 2 months for $50. This puts your monthly fee at $27 assuming you actually keep the membership for a whole year. Also if you every cancel they add fees if you cancel before 6 months. The gym itself is very heavily used which makes sense because even with the fees it is still cheap.I would put 3.5 stars if i could. Honestly the gym is fine its what you get for around 27 bucks a month. If I was the people managing the gym i would buy more free weights. You need to look at the usage of free weights (most people tend to grab mid weight e.g. dumbbells around $25) which means you should have more of those weights. It was a frequent occurrence that the weights i needed were in use even. Also there should be signs describing etiquette. Simple stuff like don't grab 4 sets of weights and put them next to you while you can only physically use one set at a time.

VASA VanWinkle....love you guys!! At 65, it isn't easy to walk into a fitness center, and feel comfortable much less confident. I have started my journey to get my life and health, back to one...all made possible by non judgemental, happy to advise and epic guest service. EVERYONE there, guests included, always willing to help, to chat, to share ideas that will make my journey worth taking.Thank you for having the best classes, equipment and facilities ... you rock my world. A special thanks to Nikolai....you showed me around, you didn't think my questions were dense, YOU showed you cared ... THAT is what it's all about....

I wished they had negative stars because one star is way too high! The gym is filthy, I haven’t been back since I joined because according to one of the trainers, the maintenance man quit. The pool is the reason I joined and frankly it looks like it hasn’t ever been cleaned, so I haven’t stepped foot inside.According to a member I met, when he made a complaint to the manager and management said what do you expect there are lots of college kids.I hope this post motivates ownership to step up their game and take pride in their facility.

They need to replenish the wipes more frequently. And get the treadmills fixed asap. It sucks knowing we pay for a repair fee each year and the treadmills have been broken for a while. (The ones most people want are mainly broken.) Staff is nice and engaging when you walk in and out which is great.

Half the machines are broken and haven’t been fixed for months. The free weight room is way too small and doesn’t have enough weights or benches so good luck using it. Meanwhile half the gym is wasted on a CrossFit area that few people use. 2.5 lb weight plates are non existent and even finding 5 lb or 10 lb weight plates is as rare as finding a unicorn. This gym could be great. It’s big and has a variety of machines. Unfortunately the potential is squandered by bad floor planning and a company that wants to collect membership fees but doesn’t want to spend the money maintaining and stocking the gym.Of course Vasa will reply to this review with the same copy/pasted response as all the others. But if they really cared they would just fix the problems. Me giving them my gym membership Id isn’t going to fix it.Edit 6/14: it’s been a month since leaving my first review and all the same machines are still broken. Both leg press machines, both row machines, the chest press machine, and now other machines are also broken. I’ll keep updating until the machines are fixed or I find a better gym

Vasa on Van Winkle is a pretty good spot to get your workout in. The staff are very helpful and friendly, especially “Thor”, I don’t know his name but he remembers me and some of my daily routines and helps me get the equipment I need, often before I even ask.The main issue I have with the gym, and most big box gyms honestly, is there are too many people! Some days I can’t get the workout I planned in, so I’ve become accustomed to having two so I can switch if it’s busy. Other people need to sleep in more so I can get my workout in 😬

This location has become one of my go to, and favorite locations. It is large with great equipment, and there isn't an insane line to use things.Unfortunately, the quality of the building is going down hill. The AC is broken in the freeweights room, the men's locker room is filthy, the floors, walls haven't been cleaned in weeks if not longer.A shower heads, and multiple soap dispenser don't work correctly. It takes weeks for equipment to be repaired. The staff is kind, but you can tell they are tired of dealing with all the complaints about broken items.I value this location and hope things improve.

Nice facility. If you can dream it, they mostly have it….but it’s probably broken. Surprised they don’t have tanning anywhere but Draper so that sucks. Even planet fitness has tanning at pretty much every location. The pool is down for maintenance with a sign on the door with a crossed out expected opening date from a week ago, and the air conditioning is broken in half the building so, while it’s great for a good sweat I also want to pass out on the stair stepper. BUT. All in all it’s nice, pretty clean, and very large with tons of good options. I’m certainly not UNHAPPY, just think Vasa really needs to step up their game.

This Vasa is okay. It has nice things like the pool, hot tub, sauna, and fitness classes. However, the owners clearly could care less about upkeep. In the men's locker room there was a machine for wringing out your wet swimsuit. It was broken right off the wall and now it's just been open electrical wires hanging out for like 6 months. Also today the hot tub was cold and barely full of water. I'm guessing with how often they fix things around here it will be like this for months. Who ever owns this place either doesn't have the money or desire to fix things when they break, in which case they shouldn't own a franchised business.UPDATE - I am updating my review as of 10/07/21 as the machine in the men's locker room has been fixed as has the hot tub.
