This Vasa location is very unsanitary as well as not maintained. The womens restroom is always disgusting! It is constantly dirty, out of toilet paper. Here is a picture of a one of the toilets that has been this way for at least 2 days!! Very disappointing when you also see 5-6 people work there so you know there are plenty of people to clean.

The manager Anthony was super cool. Was polite and nice right as I walked in the door and until I left. He helped fix the punching bag that was on the floor and even fixed the register and toilet paper dispenser. Definitely deserves a fat raise!

My car was stolen from the VASA Sandy, UT parking lot on Saturday 2/19. Someone went through my locker, stole my keys and took the car parked right out front. All of it was caught on camera and the manager at this location, Sean, has dodged every phone call I’ve tried to have about getting the footage. He gave me the phone number to call to try and request it, which ended up being a 3rd party billing phone number for a company who does not even directly work for VASA.The cop who took my police report said “this happens at this Sandy location all the time. And this gym specifically is really bad about releasing the footage” he said that other VASA’s he can go in and the managers will immediately pull up footage to help catch people. Not this one.I cannot explain what a sick, violating feeling this is to know that someone went through my things at a place I felt safe in. But what’s even worse is how the manager has treated me in the aftermath and completely written me off and refused to help. Defeating. That’s the only word I have anymore. I’m defeated.50% of the time I went to this location the scanners weren’t working so the front desk kids let anyone and everyone just walk through. The night this happened the scanners were down within the 40 minutes I was at the gym, which makes me think they withhold footage because they know they don’t keep track of who enters. This entire experience with VASA has been unbelievably horrible. I’ve hit every dead end trying to get ahold of someone to help me figure this out with no response. If you care about your things or even feeling safe in a place where you should be able to at least trust the staff to look out for you in the slightest - do not join here.

Not impressed. Equipment is frequently broken, and the stuff that's usable has loose bolts everywhere and feels like it's going to rattle itself apart during use. If I wasn't getting a deal on price through my employer I'd probably find somewhere else to work out

Always closing early and making you work out in the dark the last 15-20 minutes they’re open.UPDATE: I’ve been a member for over 10 years, off and on. The Sandy location is NOT ADA friendly. Shawn the manager doesn’t care what so ever about member safety or satisfaction. I have a separated ac joint in my shoulder, am wearing a sling and needed a chain belt so that I could squat weight but Shawn wouldn’t let me use one from the training box when they were all out at the front desk. When I told him that they’ve made accommodations like lending barbell pads & belts from the training box when they’re out in light of safety, he said he’s not allowing it. It’s not my fault they have 1 belt for the whole gym to use. No one used the extra belt I was trying to borrow from the training area either. I ended up going to ask someone for theirs instead and they gladly let me use it.Every single time I come to this location, it’s a horrible experience and the managers have the worst power trips. I will be staying at Van winkle or literally any other location but here. I’m actually leaving here to go to Van winkle so I can finish my workout.

Very dirty. I rarely see people wiping down equipment. The bathrooms are always dirty, have full trash cans, and no soap. So much of the cardio equipment was broken that, with how crowded it was, I couldn't even use a machine. Lots of dispensers were empty so you couldn't wipe stuff down if you wanted to. Benches are torn up. Mats are torn. I've tried talking to staff about it and they say "we're working on it." But the problems persist. There are so many fees associated with the first six months and canceling in that period that I feel like all I can do is just wait it out. Find a different gym that actually cares about their patrons and not just profits.Barcode number: 2048950V

So I scheduled a tour upon joining. The day snd time of my tour there was only one at the desk for sign ins so my tour consisted of standing at checkin w/ him pointing to the different areas. Disappointed, so far. He was able to get me in my app and charge me the $15.99 for “extras,” like bring my grand kids and fitness classes which did not allow access for my grandson on the next visit and had to be done again. Now the app has my home gym in Ut probably due to membership by corporate due to insurance approval and it will only do me classes for Ut “home” gym. Not impressed by this gym, but it is conventient!

Zero stars. I ended up paying TEN TIMES the actual membership price for my first month. They force you to pay through their app but when it fails to process your payment they slap you with fees. The online customer service is trash and the front desk is no help either because they won't take payments.I reached out to customer service and asked them to remove the fees or cancel my membership and they said they took care of it but they actually kept the bogus fees and added a $25 cancellation fee AND a $25 return fee! Such a scam. Now if I cancel my membership I will have to pay another $25 cancellation fee!It is supposed to be simple, I give you my payment info and you charge me the agreed amount once a month! Every other subscription-type service has figured it out, there is no excuse for this. I would be a long time customer if they could do their job right.

I've been swimming at VASA for 2 weeks now. The pool has been well kept and I've never been grossed out by it. It is the best deal for a pool I can find out there. The staff has been very friendly too.

Overall, I like VASA. It's a good gym for the simple month-to-month membership. The short review is that there are a few minor issues, but I would recommend it to a friend who is looking for a good gym with variety in equipment and classes. Read on for a more descriptive review that explains the 4/5 rating. FYI for fellow readers: I do not use cardio cinema and the only class I have take is Cycle. I use this gym mainly for weight-lifting, practicing Olympic lifts, and running on the treadmill.Equipment issues- I joined in November 2021 and as far as I remember, the same treadmills that were broken then are still broken now. Plus a couple more. I did a quick count when I was there a couple days ago and I estimate about 25% of treadmills are out of service. Not great for busy hours. I understand that waiting on parts or a technician may be partly the reason. It seems like everything is delayed these days. However, I think only about 2 or 3 of these broken treadmills actually have signs on them indicating that they are broken. People may not be reporting broken equipment, but I also feel there's some due diligence here where staff members should be checking equipment on a fairly regular basis. There are also quite a few benches and seats that have worn and ripped covers, but none that are so far gone that there's a functional issue. The bathroom reeks 24/7- The gym is a bowel stimulant for most people, and I guess not everyone was taught to blow up their own bathroom before going to the gym. Every time I walk in the bathroom, whether it's early in the morning or later in the afternoon, it smells like someone took a fresh poop in there. I have seen one automated air freshener. May I suggest adding a half dozen more? Maybe some better ventilation? Also, most stalls are usually out of toilet paper too. I get it, probably from all the pooping people are doing, but maybe have someone check on that more often? The pool might be too cold?- I have guest privileges, so I've brought my husband with me a few times. This may be a one-off experience, but there was a time he swam while we were there and he said the pool was too cold to the point that his muscles never felt like they could really warm up. My husband swam competitively in college; often outdoors, sometimes in open water events. If he says it's too cold then it's probably too cold. Like I said, he only swam there once, so I don't know if it was a one-time issue or if the gym should reconsider the pool temp.More barbells + plates plz- There are only two squat racks and two Olympic lifting areas. Now, that's better than NO Olympic and ONE squat rack offered by most gyms, and NO Olympic and NO squat rack offered by planet fitness. But given the size of the gym and how busy it can get, I wish there were more. I also recommend having a stash of barbells that don't belong to a designated bench or rack. People take them and move them anyway, why not have a supply so people have more free weight options? When I pass by the OLY stations, only about 25% of people I see are using them for the intended purpose: Olympic lifting. Most people are just using the barbell for some free weight exercises (low-impact deadlifts, lunges, etc). A huge reason why I wanted a VASA membership was to be able to practice complexes and Olympic lifts. Half the time I go I don't end up getting to do that because the spots are taken and I don't have all day to sit and wait in line. There also aren't enough plates or enough variety for the OLY stations. I usually end up borrowing from the squat rack or some random machine and mixing and matching in order to move up in proper weight increments.Lucas is AWESOME!- I have taken the Cycle class taught by Lucas. Lucas is the first instructor to come up to each student and check their bike settings for proper height, etc. His class was great, he's encouraging, doesn't screech into the microphone, great music, great complexes, takes time to learn your name. Highly recommend!I can't believe some of you read all of this. Congrats if you made it this far.
