Situated in the Bristol Village Plaza Shopping Center, it boasts a wide variety of equipment and 24-hour access on certain days, making it convenient for different schedules. I would like to start this review by saying the staff at this location is great, they’re always friendly and helpful and very approachable. I am always greeted with a smile when I check in and when leaving same always with a smile saying good night. the location is also clean, The Planet Fitness franchise is great, you do get a lot of value for your black card membership. My main concern is not with the staff or Planet Fitness franchise, but with this location in general (2725 N Bristol St Santa Ana, CA 92706). This location has been my “home gym” for a while ever since I joined planet fitness back in 2018 or 2019. This location is a little older and possibly smaller than other planet fitness gyms I been to. however, it is super convenient since it’s really close to my job. I never really had any issue with this location, I was always able to get a decent workout, few exceptions when the gym was busier than most other days. However, for the past 3 – 4 months, this location has gotten increasingly worse and overcrowded. Mainly due to a group of about 15-20 high school kids the seem to all come in at the same time and take over the entire dumbbell area and smith machines. They stand around talking and staring at their phones, they completely monopolize all or most of the dumbbells and benches using 3 or 4 different dumbbells at a time. It’s very difficult to find or use a dumbbell and bench. It gets extremely overcrowded it’s like working out in a high school gym. Seems like the entire local high school sports team goes to this location to workout at the same time.Additionally, this group of 15 – 20 high school kids have no gym etiquette whatsoever. 1). they stand right in front dumbbell rack to do their reps, then they stand there and flex and pose right in front of the dumbbells, making it very difficult for you to grab or even attempt to put back your dumbbell. 2) they leave the dumbbells laying around on the floor along with their backs laying on the floor. I would say this is a safety hazard, someone could very easily trip over a backpack or dumbbell and get serious hurt or injured. I understand that they are paying for their monthly dues and have right to use the gym. But the management team at this location should either tell this group of kids to come in at different times, spread out and not cluster all together in the same area or have them change to a different location as their home gym.As of lately, I have also noticed some shady characters that seem to only go in to use the facilities i.e showers and locker room area. I say shady because when you carry your “workout” clothes inside a grocery store plastic bag, then I would say that’s kinda shady. But at a starting monthly membership of $9.99 per month, I guess that’s the type of clientele you would expect to attract. Shady characters and high school kids, that can afford to pay $9.99 a month. As I mention the black card membership give you a good value for your money. There’s nothing wrong with the planet fitness franchise, but I will be changing my home gym to another planet fitness location, all though not as close or convenient hopefully the new location is not like working out in a high school gym. in general, all planet fitness location has way too much cardio equipment, maybe if they removed half of the cardio equipment and added more weight machines or dumbbells then this location wouldn’t feel so busy and overcrowded and you can get a decent workout.I would stay away from this location as your home gym actually, I was just stay away completely from this location. Unless, If you enjoy working out in an overcrowded high school gym type of environment, with dumbbells, backpacks and skateboards laying around. Then this location will be great for you.

It smells funny at this gym and the gym is not at right temperature,so be careful. I felt like I was inside a sauna. According to The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) suggests that a fitness facility should be between 68 and 72 degrees Fahrenheit. I got a replied from pf that I should let them know about the temperature. In my opinion that is your employees job to monitor the temperatures to the proper temperature recommendations. Im sure it takes less than 5 minutes to do that. If you want me to do your job give me a discount on my membership.

Today 03/28/2022, I was there 1130am to 1230 am. I originally liked this gym. However, today was different. This is supposed to be the no intimidation gym. The policy of pf is no doing supersets. Well there was a guy in the free weights area occupying a weight bench and multiple sets of weights. This man did not move the entire hour I was there. None of the weights I use were in the racks. Very intimidating to those who also need to work out. I went to Robert and he said he would talk to him. 20 minutes passes and nothing. I went to Robert again. He said oh sorry I got busy going now. He went and picked up weights and never addressed the guy. I watched the entire thing. I told Robert I called corporate and was told supersetting is against policy. He said yes I'm sorry and I spoke with the guy, not much more I can do. If the man would not follow pf rules he could be asked to leave or terminate his membership for not following pf policies. No members should have to endure such intimidation.

Not the best planet fitness I've been to.The parking lot had a lot of broken glass everywhere. The machines are some what up to date. The abdominal machines were broken the weights wouldn't even stay on the machine and a lot of the weight for this machine were missing. They both sounded broken.Very over crowed

I had an issue with this club a month ago. Some guy was super setting and management did nothing about it, even though its against policy. Management here is very weak. They do not walk around and monitor the club at all. Today, I go and one member who I would not want as a member was slamming weights on the floor and had out 6 sets of weights so no other member could use them. Very wrong and very intimidating to other paying members. After complaining to corporate a month ago nothing has changed at this gym. They have some nice workers, skeleton crew, but the Trainer Girl is wonderful and a few others working there are super nice. I feel like Ii am being retaliated against for complaining and brining up my issue a month ago. Today at 11:46AM I go to the counter to use the massage chair. Alex the assistant manager was on the phone, did not acknowledge me at all and turned his back to me. Knowing full well I was there. I stood there for 10 minutes waiting until 11:56am and the nice trainer girl came up to help me. I told her I stood there for 10 minutes waiting while he was on the phone, she was apologetic. When I was talking to her Alex the Assistant Manager acted rude like he was frustrated that we were talking at the counter where you service customers. He turned his back more and stuck his finger in his ear in frustration trying to block hearing us. He needs training on proper customer service. I was always trained if someone comes to the counter you acknowledge them and tell them you will be with them as soon as you can if busy. Instead of showing frustration. They do not monitor this club at all. They do no rerack weights regularly or make sure members are following rules. I would change clubs, but this form of retaliation intrigues me. Being treated poorly and retaliated against can have negative consequences. On top of that their equipment will be down longer than normal and today the massage chair is broken and only working halfway. I know these clubs are privately owned and operated. The owner of this club should actually take some time to see how this club is managed and by whom. They do not follow Planet Fitness Policy at all. I should truly move my revenue to a different club.

I had a great experience at this gym. When I did decide to move on, the cancellation was incredibly painless. I went to the counter and talked to a friendly, helpful employee. He had me in and out in a few minutes. I will definitely sign up in the future now that I know they really mean it when they say no contract, no problems leaving.
