Great gym (convenient to my house! :) ), with a VERY flexible class time schedule from 5am to 7pm, ton of open gym time for members! Over the last 6 years Crossfit has transformed my health and fitness and evened out many chronic injuries from decades of rowing (repetitive stress) and other sports. All due to the variety and balance of movements involving the entire body, with the skill and flexibility required.Another favorite feature is small class sizes, access to performing the workouts outside, and the inevitable sense of community and supportive atmosphere this brings to the workouts and the gym in general!

I am writing this review not as a member but as a former employee.I've worked in the field of strength and conditioning for 12 years, and spent 5 years working at CrossFit Arsenal- longer than I've ever spent working anywhere else.During my time there I always felt respected and was given a tremendous amount of support and freedom in developing my skills in the field.I no longer work there because I've moved out of state and opened my own gym, something I wouldn't have ever been able to do without the encouragement and backing of the members and staff of CrossFit Arsenal. To anyone interested in employment- I highly recommend working at CFA, I've worked at many, many gyms in the Boston area, and working at Arsenal was one of the most fulfilling experiences I've had.To anyone interested in finding a gym- I highly recommend you find a gym that takes care of and respects its employees, that will make a bigger difference in your experience more than anything else. In those regards (among many others), CFA is absolutely top notch.

CFA has everything you would want in a gym and is a very balanced experience. It initially was attractive because of the welcoming attitude of Jason and the rest of the coaches, but I stayed for years there (before moving out of state) because of the excellent coaching, communal vibe, and the overall positive experience. It offers a huge mix of CrossFit, weightlifting, rowing, martial arts that is accessible for beginners and advanced for people that want to compete. The coaches are experienced at both ends of that spectrum. Most classes are a mix of some form of strength and some type of metcon that leaves you feeling satisfied with just an hour’s work. The gym has an incredibly resilient attitude and spirit that is basically: “we’ll be here and we’ll have a workout no matter what.” Expect Jason and company to have great programming and to be open for business rain or shine.

I’ve been coming to this gym since 2016, so in my 7th year of working out at arsenal. When I first walked into this gym, I was newbie to CrossFit. And I used to be intimidated by CrossFit.. Jason made me feel completely at ease. Over the years, I got better at doing many things, which I’d have not done otherwise. All the coaches at this gym are great and make the workout very accessible or challenging. The programming follows a nice pattern and trains strength, short workouts, long workouts… endurance and stamina building. I’ve made some great friends at this gym. The community is excellent and everyone is made to feel welcome. In addition to the CrossFit classes, arsenal also offers rowing competition practice, and jiu-jitsu. I would totally recommend this gym if you want to workout, develop fitness skills, meet great people and just hang with a cool community.

I was lucky enough to be able to make this gym my home for a little over a year. The coaches are friendly, encouraging and most important extremely knowledgeable. They provide great instruction prior to the skill/workout and work with you to find the appropriate modifications for your skill level. There are many class offerings throughout the day, in addition to class on both Saturday and Sunday. Lastly, gym members were welcoming and helpful. Glad i was able to call this gym home and will miss this wonderful community.

I was one of the first members at CrossFit Arsenal. I just wish I lived closer and could still attend classes there. The community Jason has created is something hard to find. Jason is a great coach and motivator. I would recommend this gym to anyone looking to find a community and great fitness. Thank you!!

CrossFit Arsenal is over the top awesome. Jason and the team are funny and personable. The community they foster during Saturday morning partner workouts is just right. Don’t miss out!

I have been going to CrossFit Arsenal and performance for over 5 years now. Before joining arsenal, I had not done CrossFit or any kind of active fitness. In 5 years, I’ve improved a lot and this gym feels like home. There are many offerings: rowing, jiu-jitsu and traditional CrossFit. I typically do the CrossFit and rowing classes and both have worked out very well for me. We row on the water once a year to apply our indoor rowing skills on the water. The coaches are great— very understanding and they really know their stuff. You can make the workouts as challenging as you want, or scale as you see fit— the coaches always provide very good scaling options that allow for a good workout as well as improving on skills. The community events are a lot of fun (and this is the place to be for the year end holiday party!). Definitely encourage CFA if you want to workout at a fun place that provides a great community and many class offerings for everyone.
